My aunt and I stayed here for a week in early February. We were there visiting my daughter, who is attending college at Augsburg University, which is within walking distance from the hotel. The accommodations were very nice, and very clean. Everyone there was extremely helpful, even though my Spanish is very limited. We felt very welcome and safe there, and I will stay there again when I come back to visit in a couple of months. The only recommendation that I have, is that it would be great if coffee was offered every morning, rather than having to call for it. Other than that, it was one of the nicest stays I’ve had in many visits to Mexico.
This is a hidden gem in the city of eternal spring. It's a bit hidden and tucked but the service and hotel is excellent for the price . There is room service 24/7. This hotel is close to the downtown area of Cuernavaca. If you don't mind the walk( about 15 minutes up hill ), then this the perfect hotel for you . Rooms were very clean and spacious. The rooms aren't super modern but they are clean and comfortable. Taxis are accessible by walking out of the hotel or you can ask for one in the reception . I was charged anything from 30-70 pesos. Ruta 4 also passes in front of the hotel but that takes a while .
This is definitely not a fancy hotel but it was within walking distance to most places. They have snacks that you can order through room service all day and some limited hours for meals. Good price for what I got.
I stayed here for one nigjt with my boyfriend when we were in town for a wedding. The hotel is not "ordinary", it has lots of stairs and separate buildi gs and is all connected by the pool area. I liked this a lot because it's unusual. The rooms are nice, clean, and overall pretty. They have parking and are close to downtown.
Nice hotel. Very clean. Large rooms. Lots of stairs. Valet parking. Quaint. Nice pool and garden area. Workers very friendly and helpful. One of the bellmen spoke English, so that was very nice. Thought we were within walking distance, .4-.6 m. Because the road is windy, so you have to take a cab, but they are cheap. Would stay again.
The lady at the front desk was rude and was smoking. Plumbing sounds scary when other rooms flush or shower. Management contacted me asking to delete the review I left on google places, I took away one more star.
As a foreigner living Mexico City, I was curious to know the 'city of the eternal spring' as they call Cuernavaca. Well, before speaking of the hotel, I must in three lines describe this city. Cuernavaca is little town, very close to the capital, where many people have country houses in. They say it's touristic, but I couldn't see any other foreigner but me and my friends. The spring stuff is only about the weather. You won't find flowers everywhere. So, the first thing that called my attention in Ilebal was the size of the hotel. It seems huge in the pictures they show in their website, but it's a small hotel. The swimming pool size was frustrating - it's only one and little. Attention: they do not have a restaurant. But hotel is not far from city center where in can find many restaurants. You must walk up a little hill and in 10 minutes you are there. But avoid going there during the night: local people advised us it can be dangerous. Rooms were spacious, but they do not have air conditioning. And Cuernavaca is warm. Now, they offer rooms with 'Mountain View´. Mountain View? We chose this one and all that we could see was a little hill, with a dingy slummy house in front of our window! Apart, the internet not was not working there. They say internert is available everywhere in the hotel, but in some rooms it does not work. On the other hand, staff was quick and kind in changing us for other room. Swimming pool view was much better, even with the hundred children playing and screaming up to 11pm in the pool, in a beautiful summer saturday night.... Oh! I must be fair to say that on Sundays, they bring you super nice breakfast in basket to your room. That was the best thing in this hotel.
The Ilebal is a lovely hotel with a pool, clean rooms, friendly staff. The only downfall or upfall, lol is the walk into the centre. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms was spotless and the gardens, pool area and courtyard was calming. I would definitely stay there again.
What a disappointment to find out that the pool was empty with stone piles around the rim when we arrived. The receptionist claimed "it all happened yesterday" which was a clear lie. There was some serious work going on but no one working in the afternoon. No pool and an eyesore that can't be avoided. We had a 3-day reservation and had to settle for paying for the first night, even though we left as soon as we could. It was outright theft. We ended up going to La Casa Azul and had a fabulous stay. I booked the hotel based on reviews expecting a wonderful place to bring my family, and possibly book the hotel for our upcoming wedding. We booked 2 rooms that included queen beds, free breakfast, and a crib. What we received was 1 twin bed, no breakfast and we had to pay for the crib. We showed the hotel manager our confirmation along with what was included. She said that it was not her problem, and did noting to elevate the problem. She admitted that I had not received these accommodations and that it was printed on hotels.com. She was very rude, as was the boy who worked the front desk. He laughed at the problem. I just can't believe the attitude. I traveled a lot in my lifetime so far. I have stayed in cars, hostels, motels, and boutique hotels and know what to expect ahead of time. This was the worst service ever. Please choose another hotel.
