I love this hotel. It is exceptionally clean and well appointed. Safe and very close to the main Cathedral. We always stay here when in Morelia. The staff is friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced!
I just took a tour group to morliea Mex. We stayed at the hotel real San Juan and WAS very impressed Im taking 4 more groups here Very friendly staff, very clean place. Comfort bed and nice size bathroom Only problem they offer breakfast they don't serve
I have been to Morelia on numerous occasions and have stayed at other nearby hotels. This time I was looking for something affordable and near Avenida Madero/Cathedral. This place seemed perfect due to it's location and affordability. The hotel is very clean and for the most part the staff was friendly. However, some staff wasn't so friendly and would not greet us until my girlfriend or myself would greet them first. The room is relatively small but good for two people. The beds were clean and soft. The TV was decent as well, but disappointed that the volume was programmed to be low. The biggest problem I had with this hotel was the noise. My room was facing the courtyard (I believe all rooms face the courtyard) and every morning I would be woken up to loud commotion of people eating breakfast, talking, etc. For this reason, I would not recommend this hotel if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing hotel. Also, the bathrooms were really, really small. We had trouble staying organize since there wasn't any enough space for our toiletries. Finally, as a tourist I rely on internet to be able to stay in touch with family and friends and unfortunately the internet of this hotel was horrible. The only place I was able to use it was near the lobby. Overall, stay here if you want to save money, don't mind the small rooms and don't mind the loud noises early in the morning.
For a last minute choice, the hotel was a pretty good choice. I booked my 5-day stay with the TripAdvisor app. On the first day, they offered to take care of my gear so I wouldn't have to lug it around. The hotel staff was very accommodating and got us a room ahead of time. When you check-in at the hotel, come prepared to pay there because they might not charge your card until you're there in person to make the transaction. So make sure to know your bank's international policy and or just have cash. I paid a fee for my particular bank. The rooms were clean and modern. They had a safe within our room. Most importantly, the hotel was pretty safe. They closed the main doors after hours, but they always have someone on duty who can allow you entrance if you come in late. The hotel has cable and wifi which I used to Skype back home without any problems on a tablet and phone. The showers do have hot water but you need to wait a bit before it heats up. As for the town, it was really nice. We arrived during their film festival, which was free and had live performances. The cathedral also had fireworks every Saturday during my stay. Make sure to find the main cathedral as there are four other churches. The exchange house, pharmacy, and just about everything are located near the cathedral. Also, if you plan to travel from there, make sure to ask the hotel clerk to get you a taxi from the hotel to the bus terminal where buses can take you to other cities at a fraction of the price of a taxi ride. The buses were a lot more comfortable and had restrooms on board.
I didn't find any other available hotel, so I end up here. It is a nice hotel with cleaning opportunities and rooms are really small. Average staff..THE WORST PARKING LOT EVER!!!! Even though all the opportunities I think its a good last minute hotel....
We have had the opportunity to stay in several small hotels in the historic portion of Morelia over the years, and each have their pros and cons. This hotel is located about five blocks from the main cathedral and two blocks from the aquaduct making it fairly central to many of the tourist areas while still being on a quiet street. The hotel has undergone extensive renovations resulting in a modern appearance with an open covered center courtyard that is used for the restaurant area. The rooms are of a reasonable sized with comfortable beds. However, our room lacked any sort of chair or reading light, and the towels in the bathroom were frayed with one even badly stained. The continental breakfast that is included is very minimal and hardly worth offering as it consisted of only coffee, your choice of fruit or juice and 1.5 slices of toast per person (you can order a full breakfast at regular prices). We had asked for a quiet room and were glad that we did as many of the rooms face onto the breakfast or lobby area and may be noisy. We would consider staying here again the next time we are in Morelia but would consider other options as well.
Stay here for 4 days. The place was clean and very modern. The staff was great and the price is very affordable. Location is perfect. Centrally located to everything in downtown Moriela. There is a restaurant in the heel that serves good food at a good price. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Pretty decent hotel for the price ... location a bit off the main strip! The advantage of being off the main strip is that it was infinetely more quiet than the Qualitel from the previous nights. The facilties are clean and well kept and for the price this is a good bet when visiting Morelia.
It is located in downtown walking distance from cathedrals and main square. Not luxurious but clean and comfortable. Beds are very comfortable but pillows could be better. Rooms are not noise isolated but the place is quiet, however the restaurant is located in the center of the hotel, so expect noise early in the morning. Breakfast is not bad but there is a close restaurants with typical food. A great value option for a weekend in Morelia.
Firstly if you are reading this review and still debating whether or not to visit then Morelia, then simply do it. A beautifully charming old colonial town that we would return to in an instance. If you have the luxury of being there for a weekend, you simply must - to see the cathedral fireworks on the Saturday night and wander the traffic-less main streets on the Sunday. Anyway, this hotel...it's situated on a quiet, safe street some ten minute walk from the cathedral (5 or so from the aqueduct end of the town centre) and has clean and well kept rooms and interior - a nice little courtyard marks the breakfast area where most rooms lead off from. Our room was very clean and a decent size, same for the bathroom and shower. There wasn't AC instead a room ceiling fan. As each room seems to have only internal facing windows out to the courtyard, the heat was not an issue and this set up meant a very quiet place to sleep (bliss after the 3 days before in Mexico City!) the staff and free WiFi gave us all else we needed. Within walking distance are numerous shops selling water, snacks etc and countless restaurants and snack bars. Each day they provided bottles of mineral water in room, a really helpful touch (as with most of Mexico it is very sensible to use some of this for teeth brushing instead of the tap water) As the title of this review suggests, for the price this cute little place was utterly faultless. For sure you could spend a lot more and get more, but for us this was the perfect base for a perfect weekend in this beguiling little town.
