Nice location, right in the heart of Morelia. Rooms are small with no windows, so ventilation is poor. If you prefer a nice location over a comfortable hotel, this is a reasonable option. Breakfast is very limited. Parking available at a nearby place, but it is not for free.
Affordable, clean and convenient hotel right in the heart of Morelia's historic downtown. I only stayed one night but I received good service by the staff and a very clean room at a very decent rate. My room was facing the main square, which had a great view but I was able to hear some street noise (the staff did inform me of the street noise when I checked in though). There are many dining, drinking and sightseeing options just outside hotel entrance. I would definitely stay here again
This hotel is located right off the main square, with many restaurants in the walkway on both sides of it, and within walking distance of several museums and churches. The room we had was clean (except for a spot on the rug) and comfortable. It was a bit claustrophobic, though because there was only one small window which overlooked a big vent. However, it was quiet. Our friends had a room in the front overlooking the plaza, and they didn't sleep well because it was very noisy. Breakfast was included, but it ended at 10:30 a.m. Because we didn't return to our room until 5:30 a.m. (we were out the night before, November 1st, visiting altars and cemeteries during Noche de los Muertos), we missed breakfast. I guess that schedule is geared to business who leave the hotel early. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful; one woman came up to my room to figure out what was wrong with the TV's remote control.
This place is right in the middle of the action. Right in front of the Cathedral, can't get more downtown than this. You get out to the "portal" where there are restaurants and people having beers or coffee. The breakfast is served on the 5th floor, nothing spectacular, but will give you fuel to start your day. Rooms are just fine. They did a great job renovating an old building. That being said, they could clean the rooms better, as ours smelled a little like chlorine disinfectant over dirt. I mean at least you know it is disinfected. Sheets, TV, Bathroom (it even has amenities), are ok, with enough ports to charge all the electronics. Wi-Fi works real good. Personnel was real nice. The guy at reception was real nice and chatted with us. We had a special need (to have breakfast before 7:00) and we went to the breakfast room at 6:30 and they were already fixing something for us, because we had told the guys at reception that we needed to leave before 7:00. You have to ask for your car 15 minutes before leaving, they have a garage but it is not near the hotel so a valet will take the car and get it for you, it costs $50 pesos per night of stay.
I loved my visit here. The rooms are so clean and comfortable to be in. Also I liked their gym it was also clean. It's located close by really beautiful tourist places that you have to see. The employees there are very welcoming and nice. They'll help out with anything you need and will make your stay the best. Also don't forget they include breakfast 😋
Expedia messed up my reservation and they quickly fixed it. There were a lot of things (loud things) going on outside in the plaza and I never heard any of it from my room. Room was modern and very clean. Cool elevator were you can watch how an elevator works.
The location is great because your are close to all the local markets and the land marks as well. As a photographer it is great because this hotel is in front of the famous cathedral. There are other real nice churches around the hotel with in walking distance and great food everywhere. The rooms, aside from being real nice and clean, also offer a great video of the plaza and the cathedral that is directly in front of the hotel. Definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and family and also to all you who read this review.
This small hotel is well located in the heart of this beautiful city which dates back over 400 hundred years. The front rooms offer a lovely balcony with a small table where you can chill out while enjoying the view of the park and churches.
This hotel is very basic. We had a room on the ground floor which was basically a horribly windy hallway. I have never stayed in a hotel room without a window before and I have to say, I'd rather not repeat the experience! It felt very claustrophobic. The walls are obviously very thin as we could hear every single word people said walking down the hallway past our room. The beds and pillows were "Mexican hard" and pretty uncomfortable. Breakfast was really basic, just toast and some fruit. The reason to stay here is the location. It is right on the Main Street opposite the town square with the gazebo and cathedral which are beautiful. There are lots of restaurants in the area within walking distance. But if possible, stay somewhere else in the same area as this hotel is not worth it.
My guidebook (thank you Lonely Planet) didn't indicate that this had long since joined a chain and described this as the city's 'best midrange hotel' - they were wrong! The hotel isn't 'high design' or even minimalist - it is bare. All that said, I had a view of the main plaza & cathedral and the room was clean. The entrance/lobby is not conducive to a good experience and the staff weren't the most helpful I met in my 5 week stay in Mexico. I ought to have booked-in next door (and will do so next time). I didn't take advantage of the much-maligned (on this site) hotel breakfast, so can't comment. Had breakfast at Restaurant Lu next door - most enjoyable.
