Stopped on our way south through France and liked it so much booked for twk nights on our way back. Friendly staff ,clean room and good shower. Really nice breakfast and secure parking which is very important for our classic Porsche. Walking distance to shops ,port and resteraunts. We would come back
Booked through Brittany Ferries then emailed the hotel direct requesting a larger room (for which we were willing to pay a premium) in light of some reviews on TA. This email was ignored but was eventually acknowledged when I sent it again using the hotel’s contact form. When we arrived the room we were given was small. I asked reception for a larger room and was told “all our rooms are the same size” (clearly untrue) and when I referred the unhelpful gentleman in reception to the email I had sent, this changed to “no larger rooms are available”. He seemed to rather enjoy being unhelpful and wasn’t in any way apologetic. It is unfortunate that this was our first impression of the hotel, as it is well situated, the rooms clean and the beds comfortable. The staff generally were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good for a budget hotel although the breakfast room was rather overwhelmed on Sunday morning. The secure car park really tests driving skills if you have anything larger than a mini! Although this is only a 3 star review I would certainly give the Escale Oceania Vannes another try if we were in the area, as I imagine our experience is not typical.
We stayed in this hotel for one night on the way to visit some French friends in Brittany. We had no problem finding it and the small parking area outside meant that we had somewhere to put the car whilst we established how to use their very secure car park (we had booked a space via booking .com). The rooms were well sized and the furnishings were good quality and in a modern style. Breakfast was very good and the staff welcoming. Overall a very pleasant experience and good value.
Comfortable hotel with great access to the old town. The staff are very hekpful. If yoy can't p[ark at the hotel there is a car park very close by. This is the second time we have used the htel and would do so again if visit Vannes.
A very adequate hotel conveniently located 10 mins walk from the waterside area on the north side of the city. The downhill walk can be made through the almost car free shopping streets and the many old buildings. The hotel is basic but clean and tidy and ideal for a budget break. The staff are very friendly and speak good english. Breakfast catered for all tastes. We had a free drink in the bar and bottles of water to take away when we left. The car park is undercover and secure but may tax your driving skills as quite compact. Despite being next to a main road the hotel was quiet.
Got a free parking spot out front instead of paying for their garaged lot. Comfortable, clean small rooms. On the edge of town so it was easy to get to by car and a short 10 min walk to the center. Ate breakfast out at cafes a short 5 min walk from the hotel. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Two we walked to are; L'Image and Rive Gauche.
Located comfortably within walking distance of the town centre and around 10 minutes walk from the railway station, this hotel provided my base for a four-day visit to southern Brittany. The accommodation is really well designed with separate toilet and bathroom and the best shower unit of any hotel I have visited. The bed was comfortable and I did not notice any noise inside or outside the hotel at night. The receptionist was very helpful and the cleaner ensured my room was kept spotlessly clean throughout my stay. Breakfast was good and a restaurant service is available in the evening though I did not make use of it. This is a very good hotel.
As there are no hotels in the pedestrianised centre, this hotel is in a good position by the edge. Comfortable with nice bathroom. A bit more upmarket than budget. Breakfast was worth the €8. Car park was full but lots of other parking nearby.
The reception staff were excellent and our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The hotel is situated within a very short walk of the historic centre. Would highly recommend to other visitors to Vanne and the general area.
Stayed with friends for 2 nights while visiting Vannes. We loved everything about this hotel, location great, very smart and bright, friendly staff, reasonable size rooms, spotlessly clean, secure car park and a excellent continental breakfast with bacon and scrambled eggs. Would highly recommend.
