Terrible disappointment

Very unusual mess with VRBO. The host would not communicate with us until the day of our arrival, and then gave us no address. When we tried contact, no answer till 8:30 pm when he messaged "Did you succeed?" My response: "No and thanks for nothing." I had family with me, and we were forced to seek other accommodations. Usually VRBO hosts give us plenty of information long before the appointment, but from this person we got no info but a cryptic message that morning that "the key is inside." Inside what? We had no idea where to go!
