Great staff, clean hotel, huge room. beautiful part of town . Close to many Montreal landmarks like Schwartz’s and Mont Royal. Easy access to the Metro line. Make sure to try the restaurant connected to the hotel during your stay. Staff took great care of us after a minor mix up with our reservations.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights. The service couldn't have been better and the room was beautiful the bathroom especially was A jewel with a deep soaker tub and a spa-like ambiance. Our junior suite included a sitting area, a kitchenette and a small balcony space, all of which were nice to have. The only downside to the room was a somewhat lumpy bed. No elevator either, so be prepared for stairs. Valet parking was pretty expensive at $25 per night, but the convenience was worth it. The hotel is attached to a fabulous Ethiopian restaurant. It was our first time trying Ethiopian food and it was so yummy! The server was very helpful with explaining what everything was and how to eat it. Again, I can't say enough good things about the people here. The location of the hotel was very good. Wedid a lot of walking but were able to see so much of the city! There is a very close Metro stop, too, if you need to go further and didn't bring your vehicle.

This is a small hotel with friendly and helpful staff, beautifully appointed rooms, in an excellent location. Absolutely recommend for a two or three day stay.

We loved the kutuma hotel! Staff was incredibly helpful. Location was great for restaurants and for nearness to the metro. Only mild critique is that the walls allow all sounds to pass through so it was a bit noisy at times. Otherwise it was great!

Doesn't look that amazing from the outside, but the second you step inside its a different story. Everything is impeccably clean, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are spacious and cozy. The M2 subway is 2 mins away, there is a great bakery next door, and it was on Rue St Denis which is wonderful and full of great food.

Recently came back from a weekend stay in Montreal at Hotel Kutuma. The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were spacious, luxurious and VERY comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

We have stayed a many places in Montreal. Hotel Kutuma is by far the best! The rooms are sensational, and unique. The location is perfect, a bit away from all the tourism and noise, yet right in the heart of everything. I wold not consider staying anywhere else.

The room was very comfortable with a small kitchen with a fridge, utensils, cooking equipments and espresso machine. There was a leather sofa and flat TV. The bathroom was clean and luxurious. I even considered cancelling the trip to the old montreal and port to spend more time in the room! There's no pool or elevator, which was not an issue to me. The hotel is located in the middle of nice restaurants, bars and stores. The subway station is just a block away, but walking to the old port and chinatown is certainly doable. Valet parking is available at $15 a night, with free in and out, which is reasonable. I had no complaint during my stay.

One of the most delightful streets in Montréal is rue St. Denis, extending north from Sherbrooke for an easy 6-8 block walk of charming shops and restaurants of all types. Queen room in this hotel, decorated in white with African print accents, with a little eat-in kitchen, and a large bathroom, was perfect for our wedding anniversary celebration -- and a home base for exploring the area.

We found the reviews very positive so decided that this was the place for us and was it ever!! Great location!! Lots of excellent restaurants and shops within walking distance and a very vibrant and cool neighborhood. Driving in the city is always a challenge especially when they seem to dig up streets exactly when you decide to visit but the valet parking was very reasonable and effective. Don't park anywhere but in front no matter what the confusing signs say....you have at least 1/2 an hour to arrange for parking and get your bags dealt with. The staff were very friendly and went out of there way to make sure your visit was perfect and our needs were met...the coffee machines for instance were a challenge but they helped sort that out...little or no street noise, excellent room ambiance....great price....do not stay anywhere else unless you want to pay more for less.

Friendly staff, great service, nice decor, free amenities - an overall pleasant and unique experience, a great alternative to upscale chain hotels (Hilton, Marriott).

Great location! Exotic decor; All rooms different.

Staff hard to locate and English poor. You have to ring a door buzzer for entry. Waited at least 5 minutes for someone to answer the door at midnight after telling staff that we were going to be late. No elevator. No sound insulation, old building with no modern sound insulation. Luckily small enough that earplugs helped. Decorated with lots of Leopard print and looked good, but coats of dust on bedside tables and empty water bottles and gum wrapper under furniture. Huge bathtub but drain plug did not work so unable to take long, relaxing bath. Room very dark, only window in bathroom,Ok for me as I wanted to sleep only. Overall, I had a good sleep for 2 nights while visiting McGill student child. Details like good dusting and operating bathroom plugs needed. Also phone system not working so unable to receive calls to my room causing increased roaming charges. On a block of St Denis that is pretty ugly but near lots of trendy places.

We had a great stay at the Hotel Kutuma. We were visiting my son, a McGill University student, who has an apartment nearby. The decor is unique and the rooms are well appointed. We spent 5 days exploring Monteal on foot, and it was so nice to open the door to the our own oasis, complete with restful music playing to greet us. The front desk is tiny, but they are nice, and even offered my husband and I a free Sunday brunch in the adjoining restaurant as we were checking out.

If I ever return to Montreal I will definitely be staying here again. The room was perfect, the bed was comfy, the shower luxurious and the decorations exotic. It also had a kitchen with dishes, microwave, sink, oven range, fridge etc. The table was made up with the most beautiful dishes ready for your homecooked meal. The staff was amazing. We asked a simple question about the train service to Quebec City and got a print out of the schedules, fares, etc. and they offered to call and book our reservation. The Ethiopian restaurant attached was one of the best meals of the trip. Loved this place!!!!

If you want a great stay in Old Montreal, you want to go to the Hotel Kutuma! The hotel was very clean, exotic decor, Very comfortable bed, suite accomodations with kitchen and unique furniture and table settings. We had a balcony which was connected to our friends room The bathroom was very clean and a spa like feeling with old world shower and bathtub. The tub was the cleanest we ever experienced in any hotel. It could have used a handlebar for getting in and out of the tub. There is no elevator and it really isn't necessary here. We were on the fourth floor. Stairs might be too difficult for someone with health issues. The staff was very friendly, and always helpful. They even provided us with umbrellas one rainy morning. They have an Ethiopian restaurant next to the hotel which looked beautiful. We actually didn't have time to eat there. Kutuma is located on a main strip of Old Montreal. We walked to everything. We were there for pleasure, but we witnessed business people meeting at the cafes with their laptops. This was our first trip to Montreal and Kutuma. It was a great stay!

Hotel Kutuma is a hidden gem in the center of the trendy St. Denis/Plateau neighborhood. Hotel upgraded us to our surprise. The suite was superb with full bath/shower/kitchen. The front desk help was very helpful and caring. Quick to take care of any requests. I would definitely stay here again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to any guests. The Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant is a true dining experience with great food served in a community way. The Kutuma was a great choice for us. Location to dining/shopping and metro were superb.
