I put a star because at the end of the day we had a bed to sleep and a bathroom but that was about it. For starters the receptionist did not speak English and had to use his phone to Google the translation. I have to admit that at least, he tried. It took more that half an hour to do the check in and when finally got to the room it was disgusting and smelled like someone had been smoking inside. Not a good feeling at all. The room was bare and dated. The bathroom was very neglected and old (weird enough the vanity was new) We won't be coming back that's for sure. Sad experience.
We get what we pay for... Ok, but a few points stand out after this first (and last stay) at the Villa Bellagio: 1.) The carpet in the hallways is simply disgusting. The smell is hard to stand, make sure you hold your breath from the elevator door to your room. 2.) In 3 days I meet 4-5 different reception clerks. It's never the same person (including night shifts). Only 1 of them was kind of professional and knew what he was doing. 3.) One night, people (guests of the hotel? I doubt it) gathered in the hotel's patio until 1am, loudly partying and talking about smoking "crystal". Visibly, they were high, and were known by the night clerk... When I called the reception desk to complain, no one could speak English. Felt unsafe, didn't sleep, and lock the door the best I could. 4.) There is no safe in the rooms. 5.) No bar. No water (the vending machine was out of bottled water). 6.) WiFi works poorly. 7.) There is NOTHING around the hotel, excepted a supermarket that closes at 8pm weekdays, earlier on weekends, closed all day Sundays. Plan accordingly. 8.) To get anywhere nearby you will have to walk 15 minutes along the freeway, on a bike path. 9.) Worst pillows ever: bought at a 99cents store? Very likely. 10.) The kitchenette in the studio had the same unbearable smell than the hallways. All utensils were dropped in a pile on the sink and counter. I should have listened when I read comments on the internet advising to avoid this hotel...
Stayed here for a few minutes to visit relatives who lived nearby. This hotel isn't close to the city centre but was convenient for us. The tram stop is 10-15 minutes walk away, and with the regular service that means the city centre is only about half an hour away. The room was quiet and fairly basic, but was comfortable and the facilities were good (TV, shower, soaps etc). We didn't get a good Wi-Fi connection but we weren't too bothered by that. Breakfast was good - simple yet with a good variety of options and a bright and clean dining room. One day the automated drinks machine was out of action, so the staff provided fresh tea and coffee etc from the kitchen. All in all if the location is ok then this is a pretty good place to stay. There is a supermarket close by, but not much in the way of eating out.
We got a four persons room with breakfast for 118 €. The other two hotels around here, did only have two persons room for 60-67 € each. The staff are friendly and some of them speak English. Dogs allowed :-)
Unfriendly staff , internet was terrible , rooms not cleaned well ,one night of two the beds were not made and room not cleaned, new towels were just thrown on the bed . We stayed here only to visit family otherwise stay closer to center of town ,tow many trains to get to tourist attractions
don't pretend more from this hotel... the rooms are really basic with poor furniture, the dinner didn't offer much choice for dinner. we spent the night there going from italy to france. ok for just one night. i forgot: the small swimming pool didn't look bad...
On arrival at the hotel, I didn't hold high hopes due to the area and initial appearance. However, I got parked in the free car park (underground cost 5€ per night) and a friendly welcome at reception lifted my opinion. The suite was spacious and air conditioned which was ideal for the heat outside was fierce! We had a balcony and fridge where we were able to refreeze our cooler packs. The room was very clean and comfortable. The kids complained that although Internet was free, it was not wifi so they couldn't facebook! The breakfast (extra at 8€ each) was decent and offered a fair selection. No tea or coffee facilities in the room which would have been welcomed. There is a pleasant seating area outside.
We stayed here for one long night. Rooms dated. Staff not helpful. Price average for Europe but definitely rates in budget category. Breakfast ok. Distance to town so not convenient for walking anywhere. Not recommended. Wouldn't stay here again.
We had a suite. It was clean, but way too hot at night with no way to control the air conditioning. The hotel claims free tea and coffee, but only in the foyer, and no tea or coffee in the room. No facilities for bicycles, although thankfully the host did allow us to keep our bikes in the room. The taxi into the town centre was €25.
This hotel has the most awful conditions and staff I have seen in my 20 years of travelling! DO NOT STAY HERE. The manager was so rude I actually reported the establishment. We had no heat, no hot water, a room with cots that were supposed to be beds and were refused a refund. The manager is completely incompetent!
