spend 3 nights in this hotel - breakfast is very moderate and if you are a little later your choices are very limited. The personnel is very friendly but cleaning shall be improved and some housekeeping has also to be done.
This hotel has a nice and calm atmosphere. Pool open (not heated) to late autumn which is great for the brave. Lovely pool terrace where breakfast can be taken. Next to parks and walking distance to playgrounds and sandy beach. All rooms have their own little terrace with table and chairs. Family rooms available and the sofa bed fits well even two adults. Only backdrop is the cleaning. The separate toilet in room lacks water outlet and walls are not of tiles.. Resulting in disgusting urine smell. Also the carpets in the rooms are dirty. Both bathroom and toilet floors need throughout cleaning including between the tiles. Change the carpets to other floor material, put tiles on toilet walls, and keep toilet and bathroom properly clean and you'll have a really nice hotel as a result, worth more than three stars.
We stayed 5 nights in this hotel in early September. We had a first floor south facing room overlooking the pool. We much enjoyed our stay. The pool is quiet, well looked after, a decent size, with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. The hotel has a lift and a large car park. If you have a fancy car or bike there is also a secure basement garage which the manager pointed out and for which there was no charge. Some of the reviews mention that the hotel looks tired and needs a refurb. I would not say that this is a big problem. The public areas are a little old fashioned but not excessively so. Our room was nicely fitted out with a good sized TV, fridge, and we had a nice balcony with a table and a couple of chairs. The bathroom was well fitted and the room had enough space for a coffe table and a couple of chairs. Breakfast was excellent with Bayonne ham, eggs and masses of jams, patsries etc and fruit and yoghurt and so on. The hotel is in a very quiet end of La Grand Motte. A bit of a hike to go downtown for dinner, and the local retsaurants which are 5 minutes walk away are limited in appeal. If the hotel offered a bistro menu for dinner I would give it top marks. All in all this hotel is a good choice in this area. Recommend a room on the first floor or above as they are nice and bright.
Very nice and extensive breakfast. Instant Sweet fresh orange juice made by a machine crushing the oranges. A variety of tasty croissants. Fresh fruits, tasty yogurts and nice scrambled eggs and sausage.
Stayed 3 nights here after Easter weekend. Hotel was not completely full but the free parking lot was full at night and early morning (Manager or staff should make more control on how people park their car as some guests use to park over 2 parking spaces, not acceptable). Staff was friendly and helpful with us and met our needs (much better than people working in La Grande-Motte). Dog friendly hotel so we were able to travel with our furry friend. Hotel was a bit dated from outside and the room also. Especially bathroom, some room amenities and the balcony (need some fresh paintings f.ex.). The bed was very nice and comfy (Bultex mattress), the TV was rather small and no Canal+ or BeIn Sports channels. A fridge is in the room as it's the minibar and an Nespresso coffee machine as well + Tea maker. Our Privilege room was quiet on 1st floor, looking over the Golf park. The only noise came from the inside of the hotel when guests were entering their room and slamming their door. Walls are not really soundproof so you could ear some noise too. Room price was a bit high but ok (around 150Euros/night ++ as BW Member). Breakfast was 14 Euros but we didn't had it. If you need/want to walk around, you could get easily out near the Ponant Lake. Some small stores available and bars or cafés. Pool aera is nice but watch out for the mosquitoes in the hotter months. If you want to go out to eat, you'll need your car to drive to town or to Le Grau du Roi. I recommend L'Ombrine in La Grande-Motte and le Galion and La Reine du Grau, in Le Grau-du-Roi (15 min drive). It's about 30 minutes walk to town or beach one way. All in all a good stay but hotel needs some refurbishment with the time. We expected a little more for our money. Maybe we'll come back, maybe not. Depends on the room price.
I went to La Grande Motte (close to Montpellier) on a Sunday as I had an early start on the Monday (business trip). I know several Best Western places, from minimal to luxurious. Based on the price I expected nothing. However, the hotel is situated in a nice and green environnement. It is a 5 minute walk from the sea and I was really happy to have a little terrace - which is surrounded by small palmtrees. As it was not that cold I got to enjoy a little bit of time outside on the terrace to chill and relax. A little bit of a holiday feeling! The only staff member I saw was the lady at reception. She was very friendly and efficient. The room is not super modern but of a decent standard and most importantly, it was clean. Not sure if the carpet was as clean as well - I love carpet but the longer I go to hotels the more appreciate different kind of floors that may hide less germs :-)
Asked for a high floor room and got one on the ground floor. Since we were only staying for one night we put up with it. Ground floor rooms are pretty dingy, which added to the general sad, faded 70's concrete building doesn't make this hotel very appealing. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good and reasonably priced - lovely fresh bread, pastries along with a selection of fruits and hot food. Smokers on the outside terrace restaurant during breakfast. AAAGHH! My pet hate. Didn't use the pool but it looks clean. The room was basic but a reasonable size. Bathroom very large but basically the hotel needs a complete refurb. The hotel was pretty hard to find - the roads around this area are a bit of a jungle and many of the streets are one way. It was a short walk to the lake although inspite of it being mid June, there were few restaurants in walking distance.
This is a good but nice walk away from the heart of the resort. It is adjacent to the golf course for those that want to indulge in this and there is a water-skiing facility just across the road. There is a pool with rather chilly water. The room was a bit dated but had all the usual items. Aircon was decidedly iffy and I am unconvinced it ever really worked. There door out onto a large balcony area had a broken lock so could not be secured. Dining was only available at breakfast. Staff were fine and the manager was very helpful. Overall it was OK but nothing that really sets it apart for the general run of the mill.
Stayed 10 days at the hotel, came home for a week and returned for another 7!! Owner and staff very friendly Nothing was too much for any of them Very relaxing holiday in a relaxed setting Highly recommended and we will be returning Thanks for everything! Steve & Deb #bigspoons
Pleasant hotel in quiet leafy location on the outskirts of La Grande Motte. Pleasant room with a balcony on second floor. Attractive breakfast area and pool. Very quiet when we were there, beginning June. The breakfast was OK but not exceptional, not much fresh fruit apart from a tired bowl of ageing fruit salad. The main problem for us was the walk of 30 mins plus to the Port area where the best seafood restaurants are located. LOmbrine is particularly good. In the high season the local restaurants may provide an alternative but when we were there they were deserted/closed.
