Super cool hotel. Built in 1940. Tons of character, huge stained glass window, old school cage elevator, marble everywhere, and just an unbeatable location in the old town but quiet enough at night you can sleep with your shutters open. Probably one of my all time favorite hotels, a true value especially if you can get room 66 or 67.
Room was spotless. Bathroom amenities well stocked. Staff was very friendly. Location of hotel was superb. Easy walking distance to many important sights.

What a beautiful, charming building! You can certainly feel the history of this place. The elevator, the old keys, the furniture, the windows - simply WOW. I adored it.
The room had a wonderful terrace overlooking the city and it was a phenomenal location to explore Ciudad Vieja by day. Maria at the front desk made me a wonderful map to explore the city during my one day stay and she along with the rest of the staff were so friendly.
PLUS :
safe
refrigerator
air conditioner
secure building
location
MINUS:
very noisy inside the tiny hotel - elevator, doors slamming, shutters bang in the wind
too much (unusable) furniture in room
difficult to walk around bed
low water pressure in shower, sink, bidet

The hotel is inside an old bulding and they have maintained its old character -the floors; toilets, elevators, and the rooms themselves all keep the look from old times. It’s okay during the day, as the area around it is busy, but it can feel a bit unsafe at night, as the area empties and some homeless people stay around. I didn’t like the fact that whenever leaving the hotel -for example when going for a walk- one has to leave the room key, and then upon return, walk to the reception and retrieve it again. It is I suppose for security reasons, but that should given them motivation to upgrade then to more modern safety features. The WiFi was working average, so don’t expect to be able to work here during your stay.

The location is excellent!! The balcony faces west so you can catch sunset. You can go up to the roof top if you don’t have a balcony room. I could see ocean on both sides. The door and drawer handles fell off. At first the place seem old but I grew to love the charm. It’s old city.
The staff was extremely friendly and the hotel was clean and centrally located, with a cute old elevator. They do need to repair the door handle for Room 61, though.

Nice cozy vintage looking room. Very helpful staff and location is excellent. If you are doing Hop on/off bus, their stop is less than 5 mins walk away.
Only thing, since they kept the patio doors open - there were a lot of flies in the room but honestly, as day faded - so did they.

A wonderful charming hotel of colonial character, with very helpful and friendly staff and a great central location. Our room had even a balcony from where we could watch the sunset. The hotel offers only basic amenities, but there are great breakfast cafés nearby and lots of restaurants too.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
A little grim with the main attributes being the cost and location. A cheap bed for the night.
We only stayed for one night, ideal location as only a short walk to the hop on hop off tourist bus stop. Also walking distance to the Buquebus boat station.
Even though the property has its charm as a building from a different era, the staff should work on improving their service skills, and the amenities and facilities could be better.
Excellent 2 nights in the old city center walking distance to the Ferry arrival and HOHO bus stop .

Great place w/an old nostalgic vibe. Felt a bit like a ghost town w/most shops closed. Maybe because it was winter time. Urea’s a whole was underwhelming. Maybe in the summer it is more lively. Still a cool historic looking hotel & walking distance to main plaza, market & old town!
Charming, old-fashioned, but very cozy, close to restaurants and shops; they serve great coffee in the mornings. I highly recommend it.
