Great place for nature, clean room with fantastic view, best breakfast coffee. The innkeepers are both nice and warm. Walking distance to the beach, and the famous Phil‘s fish market restaurant. Short drive to the Moss Landing State Beach where I saw 4 playful sea otters.

Stayed here for four nights and have to say that this was one of the worst value for money i ever got at a hotel (doing over 150 nights/year at AirBnBs, independent hotels, and chains). Rate was 300 USD a night and was supposed to be already a 'special rate'. - Garden area is dirty and part of the fence is falling off - Room 'sanctuary' was small and fireplace did not work (hotel was not willing to give a discount for this) - Wifi was not working in our room and even in the breakfast hall very spotty - breakfast is a trio of something savory and sweet, no selection possible, not good for people who dont like carbs - Hotel staff first told be I have already everything prepaid and on the next door knocked on my door telling me that I need to urgently paid because they realized I havent paid. No apology for their own mistake. - Road construction work directly in front of the hotel didnt make the stay better. - Bathroom small and old (definitely not 300 USD worth) If you need to stay in that area get a great Inn in Carmel or Monterey for probably 150 USD less a night and just Uber to Moss Landing for 30 USD.

Beautiful views, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds!!l. Lots of places to walk on the beach, the dunes and the boat harbour Would definitely recommend this delightful find Restaurants and shops nearby

The room (Admiral's Wife) was lovely with a huge big claw foot bathtub I could soak in. My grandson loved all the boating items around the property and I loved the view of the slough and birds. Close enough to walk to the whale watching and Elkhorn Slough Safari. There were many thoughtful touches-a refrigerator we could use for our left overs and travel food, orange juice, drinks, cold water, coffee and tea available free at all times. Excellent breakfast.

This is a little piece of paradise. Accommodations were great & staff are wonderful! The staff are very knowledgeable on all the activities in the area. Short walk to the beach. The view from the room was amazing & bed was comfy! We look forward to a return stay.

Some B and B's are cookie cutters but this place is unique. The Innkeeper has thought of most anything you would need to make your stay enjoyable. The place has history and because of where it is located it allows you to enjoy Moss Landing both day and night. I personally have waited over 50 years to be able to stay in Moss Landing vs. driving for miles either North or South to stay the night. I highly recommend the place, And if you stay more than a night the next and following breakfasts will be unique. Stay and enjoy the innkeeper and the surroundings.

We were a little weary when we arrived at Captaon's Inn, but much to our surprise and amazement we were delighted when we walked inside. the building has a great history and is filled with historical artifacts. Our room was cozy and very comfortable. Each day Barb served us a wonderful and exciting breakfast. The Inn is easy driving distance to great attractions and close to a very nice beach.

I stayed here for two days as part of a business trip. It was definitely an unusual choice for business stays but I am glad that we ended up at Captain’s. Neat location, great view from the room and fantastic staff, not to mention the delicious breakfast every morning! I’m not typically a B&B person but now I may consider it thanks to the great experience I had here. Honestly the experience was better than some of the 4 star hotels I stayed at. If you’re looking for something unique and quaint, I highly recommend this place! I definitely would want to go back on my own time in the future.

We loved our weekend at the Captain's Inn. We had booked the Valentine's Romance package and stayed in the River Front Room. When we walked in there was a red rose pedal heart on the bed, chilled champagne and beautiful wine glasses on the table, the spa music was playing softly, and the fire was going. The view out the window was amazing - it was a stormy afternoon and the clouds over the river was beautiful. We go to Moss Landing and the Captain's Inn is half way between our favorite breakfast spot, Moss Landing Cafe, and our favorite dinner spot, The Whole Enchilada. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast was included. It was great. We are looking forward to going again.

The room was great and we managed to see a few otters and sea lions (and lots of birds) from our windows. The room was also wonderfully themed. It was very nice. The food was absolutely great too! Would recommend!
