The room, services, staff and food is exceptional! The attention to every minute detail really exemplifies Mrs. Nektaria's (host) passion for what she does. World class! We can't wait to return! Thank you!
The Moni Emvasis proprietor was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. She contributed to making our trip one of a kind. We didn't want to leave our perfect castle hide away room. The breakfast is delicious, and the view from the breakfast deck is stunning. The proprietor makes the marmalade from oranges grown on her family farm. The property is in a perfect location for restaurants on the island and to tour the town. We will go back!!
The hotel is located within the castle, so there is not any access by car. However the scenery and the experience of staying within the castle pays off. It is a very quiete place, with breathtaking view to the Greek sea and the historical castle. The room and the bathroom are spacious enough, as there is a matter of space in the castle. The view from the room was nice and the stay was quiet and calm. In case the weather allows, I would strongly recommend to enjoy the very nice breakfast at the terrace of the hotel, where you can enjoy the magnificent view.
Very nice room, tastefully decorated. Although me and my husband were alone, it is big enough for 4 persons. The bed and the pillows were comfortable. The food in the restaurant was great. It is placed on the main road close to the entrance of the castle, but it is very quiet.
This place is beautiful, cozy, accommodating and just warm in general. This was part of my 50th bday trip to Greece with my husband and another couple(our friends) Nictoria is a gracious fabulous host. The attention to detail in preserving the original materials and creating a warm , modern space is excellent. The view...exquisite.
Very nice decorated small hotel with a good location : inside the old town, only 50 m from the main gate. Give a phonecall at the main gate and a buttler from the hotel will pick-up your luggages. Very nice rooms with all luxe you need. Personnal welcome from Miss manager/owner. Good restaurant, fine cuisine and a good choice of wines. Restaurant nice view allover the old town. Few number of tables, so it's adviced to reservate a table ! Good breakfast with homemade cakes. We had a suite with a double bed and a small living, more than great enough for a extra bed. Nice bathroom.
Moni Emvasis Luxury Suites is simply a magical hotel which Will remain in our hearts forever! The location in the town, the quality and standart of room, the wonderful service from All hotel stuff and aspecialy Nektaria and the superb food left us trully amazed. We spent 6 nights in the hotel with our 3 Kids who loved the sleeping arrangment at the separate gallery. The view from our balcony on a fool moon night was taken from a fairy tale. The city itself is a place frozen in time with a new discovery of wonderfull architecture behind each corner! Although being with a car in high season was not a problem at All Thanks to the good sutle service from the main land every 30 minuts. The beaches in up to one hour drive were excellent. In short this place is a must for every one - at list once in a life time...
Monemvasia was a highlight of our two week trip, and we were coming from Chania with high expectations. Our two night stay at Moni Emvasis was lovely. Nektaria and staff were consummate professionals throughout our stay. Nektaria's attention to detail and the many years she spent renovating the space did not go unnoticed. The fixtures for the rooms are custom and high-end. We took amazing day trips and were welcomed back with amazing views from our rooms and dinner. The food here really was some of the best we had in Greece and the desserts/pastries are world class - fresh from the oven bougatsa, croissants, and chocolate souffle!). Breakfast is made to order so take your time. Thank you and we look forward to being back one day! Travelers tip: Recommend calling the hotel to arranging a taxi and/or ask for bag assistance prior to arrival as the castle entrance does not allow for cars. This applies to all properties inside the castle.
This promised much but some basic errors let it down. The positives - the views, the croissants. The negatives - broken tap in bathroom basin, rendering the basin useless. When told of the problem they explained they were aware and were waiting for parts and had no idea when they would come. For 300 Euros a night I don't expect to use the shower to wash hands and clean teeth. Secondly, the breakfasts - unripe fruit, raw egg whites, terrible bread. Thirdly- a lack of key info. On arrival we were told that had we phoned, someone would have taken our cases from the castle gate. If only they had put this in the email they sent with parking info. They tell you that you can park on the public road outside the castle but don't tell you that finding a space is a bit like trying to win the lottery and you may easily end up with a 1km walk to the hotel. There is a bus that runs every 30 mins from the town but they don't tell you this either. Small details, big difference, especially in 34 degree heat. Shame as the suites could be lovely.
If in Monemvassia then don’t even bother searching for another place to stay. Rooms are perfect with all the comforts. Also it is nearly at the entrance of the walled city which makes it extremely easy to come and go. Mrs Nectaria was a perfect host and has put a great effort in the comfort of her guests.
