This place was very nice. It was pretty close to the entrance to the walled city. There were a few pretty good stairs to climb (with luggage). It was difficult to find. I'll leave a pic of what to look for. Before you get to the place, you'll see a sign that says "GULAS", but at the actual entrance, it is in Greek. The owner was there waiting for us (even though we were later than expected). I wish I had gone ahead and paid when we arrived, as she was not present when we were ready to leave. I contacted hotels.com and they contacted her and she called me (via whatsapp) right away and we were able to handle the payment over the phone. It's a cute little place, with a nice patio and little sitting room. We watched the sunrise from the patio.
The location was perfect. Great air conditioning. Clean room. Walking distance to everything. The only thing we didn't like was the bed. It was way too hard. Everything else was great.
The place was very cozy and nicely decorated. The host responses to everything very quickly and was very helpful. It was a wonderful stay, my family loved the view and the space. It was easy to walk to the ocean from the back of the house. The downstairs AC and shower head were broken, but everything else was great! Highly recommend and would revisit!

Liked: Amenities
The property is unique, so you must be prepared for cobblestone streets & difficulty in walking around as there are steep inclines etc. interesting to see it but unfortunately there is no one to meet you, there is nothing in the entrance to say they give you a map, or some information about the place, signage is a problem. I couldn’t open the door as they’re old & you nearly have to kick it in for it to open. The bed is hard, not a proper mattress. The only place that was great was the terrace they had. I don’t know what it is with Greece but it seems that they leave the sheets & you make your bed.
We had a hard time finding the location, but once we got there, we enjoyed our spot, especially the access to swimming and our private balcony with the beautiful view of the sea.
What is advertised on Expedia is a newer and clean facility. What we got was a dirty, old facility with broken fixtures. We seem to be victims of a bait and switch scam. In addition, the hospitality was unacceptable. With minimal hygiene items supplied, 4 waters over 2 days, scratchy towels that could exfoliate your skin, and no change of towels or sheets, we felt abandoned resorting to our own devices to meet basic needs after paying such a hefty fee for our stay. We would never return and never recommend this facility.
I appreciate that this is a room in a house in a medieval city but the standard was poor. Room tiny and old fashioned, had to make the bed yourself, a sheet left on top for you. The window shutter didn’t shut, I had to take a book from reception to wedge it that night. The bathroom was equally tiny, shower was a tray with a curtain that leaked and stuck to your body while showering. Lady was in reception to give us the keys but then disappeared within minutes, there was no number to contact her. She didn’t return for check out, we just left the keys but then rang us up as she couldn’t get the credit card on file to work.
The balcony was the saving grace as it was large with a lovely view.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The beds were terrible…hard as sleeping on a slab of stone….no lighting in the kitchen, no table lamps….every light was an overhead light. Could not even make a cup of coffee after sunset. The upstairs bed in our room had sand on the sheets.
Great view from the patio. The space is very large and perfect for our family of 4. It is very close to the entrance of the city so you don’t have too far to go with any luggage or bags. It could use a bit of an update but great for our one night stay.
Very nice place. I would stay again. Very nice hosts.

Stunning views
The highlight by far was the view from your own private terrace. It was a stunning window onto this piece of paradise. Quiet and secluded and yet one street away from the shops and restaurants.
The room wasn’t much to talk about, a bit dark and dull, but the place is definitely worth booking for the terrace.
Amazing cottage within the castle village. Oozing with old charm character of the yesteryear. It’s close to the gate, so not much walking through the cobblestone laneways with suitcases. Very clean and excellent communication considering our late arrival. Thank you!
We enjoyed our 2 night in a room with a balcony. The room was small ( which was ok for us) had nice details to suit the old feeling. Shower was very small and water run all over but it had hot water. Easy check in. It is not far from the gate so very short walk with all our staff. Need better sign in English, we passed the place and had to come back. Over all nice and reusable priced. Next to all the restaurants in the town.
