We used Moncton as a base to explore Atlantic Canada, visiting Nova Scotia and P.E.I. and other parts of New Brunswick. We were very happy with the hotel, and also got a superb viewing of the tidal bore from the pathway that runs directly behind the hotel. This is as good a place as any to view the tidal bore -- one of the most important things to see when visiting the Bay of Fundy.
We enjoyed our days there, staying 3 nights. The room was very comfortable and the hotel staff very professional. We would stay there again for sure. The hotel is close to restaurants and a short walk to downtown.
I was beyond impressed with my stay at the Château Moncton. I was in Moncton for business and my flight arrived four hours before my first meeting. I was very grateful to be allowed an early check in so that I didn't have to bring my luggage along with me. My room was very spacious with two beds, a mini fridge, desk, chairs, bathroom and a wonderful view of the "chocolate river". It was also one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. The hotel, as a whole, is also very clean and the staff are so very friendly and helpful. An amazing breakfast was included with my stay and I swear I could've stayed and ate breakfast all day long! There was a very wide variety of choices of both hot and cold breakfast items. Everything from muffins, pastries, oatmeal, juice, milk, bacon, pancakes, baked beans, eggs and more! The food was fresh and delicious. I love how the breakfast hours cater to everyone. At the time of my stay, breakfast was served from 6 AM until 11 AM. Whether you rise early or late, fresh food for breakfast is guaranteed. The Château Moncton is located in the downtown area of the city. It is minutes (walking) away from the Champlain mall, movie theatre, downtown restaurants and popular clubs/bars. It is right next to the Petitcodiac River (aka The Chocolate River) and guests can witness the famous Tidal bore (river switching directional flow) every day at different times. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Moncton and honestly can't wait to go back someday!
We stayed at Chateau Moncton on our way to Cape Breton for a vacation. Our room was a nice large room with a king bed and more amenities than we really needed. The bathroom was huge which we really liked. The hotel is quite which is wonderful as it is downtown on Main Street. The continental breakfast was very good. The staff was very helpful too. They answered our questions knowledgeably, pointed us toward a VERY nice restaurant and we enjoyed the interaction we had with them. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks!
This is a lovely hotel right by the Petitcodiac River or the Chocolate River as it is affectionately known as. The river is really the colour of hot chocolate. The room I had was nice and roomy. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The location of the hotel is minutes walk from the main downtown strip and it is a pleasant walk by the river. There are areas to stop and sit and watch the Tidal Bore that occurs twice a day. If you are lucky you will even catch surfers riding the tide. I also like the location as it is easy to get to the main road and highway and travel to the attractions around. Moncton is small enough that it is really easy to get around so it really doesn't matter where you stay. There is a mall across the way as well so very convenient if you need to do a bit of shopping. Breakfast is included and it was a hearty one with the best bacon I've had in a while. There is always coffee and tea or hot chocolate waiting for you in the breakfast room that also houses the bar where you can get a drink in the evenings.
Stayed one night early May. Beautiful hotel, very spacious room. Comfortable beds. The breakfast in the morning though very crowded, was very good. The ice machine was a bit of a trek but it's really a clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff and located well to get where we needed to go.
This big hotel has a lot of rooms with a view of the river and thus of the tidal bore. The river itself is brown colored. The hotel does not have a restaurant on the premises, but there are enough restaurants in Moncton. The breakfast room also overlooks the river. Friendly and helpful staff. Pricy, you pay for the location and the view. Spacious rooms.
Overpriced, uncomfortable & simply not worth the money. Not my cup of tea, and I got it for free! Find another place to be happy. This is not a place I would ever recommend to anyone. Stay away from this place. find something else, even if it stinks.
Greeted by excellent staff who put you at ease. Hotel room was very accommodating, stayed on the road side. We stayed in a king size bed, lots of room, and love the pillows. Bathroom was very large and the towels were to die for. Nice and fluffy and thick.
Our first time staying there and we were pleasantly surprised. Large clean rooms, friendly staff and great location to the mall and downtown. The continental breakfast was well stocked and had many options to choose from both hot and cold. The rooms were also very quiet to the hallways. We would definitely stay there again!
