Not long back from a week in Gran Canaria. Excellent week and really enjoyed our holiday. Weather was fantastic which certainly helped. The hotel was fine; our room was ideal, plenty space, great size of balcony, very comfy bed, brilliant shower, telly/radio, good maid service, no complaints. Food was buffet style and although a bit of a ‘feeding frenzy’ was pretty decent. We were half board and the two meals were more than enough. Two pools were good with plenty loungers etc, pool side bars were ok. Night entertainment was a mixed bag, sometimes it was first class and other times it was pretty average - on the whole it was fine. We slipped up with the Spa centre thinking that was part of the deal when actually you have to pay for access; due to the time of year there was a few deals to be had which we made use of and really enjoyed our 2 visits; we checked the website afterwards and noticed the point re charges being made - the devil is in the detail! The major disappointment was the gym; again a bit of a decider when we chose this hotel, it’s clean and tidy but a lot of the kit is broken and servicing is well overdue, the kit had been US for some time I reckon and not just recently broken - we made do with what there was but it was far from what I was expecting- the receptionist to whom I reported this issue gave the impression they knew it was below par although I am not convinced anything is due for change anytime soon. Staff were helpful. Lifts can often be a bit frustrating. All in it was a nice hotel and we would use it again.
A great hotel facilities are great but found food a bit samey Waiting and bar staff were very obliging . Didn’t find reception very help Full Now for the disaster my wife slipped on a wet path in the hotel car and coach drop off breaking her wrist although staff helped they didn’t seem that concerned and to my amazement didn’t put warning signs for wet floor until seven days after the accident Won’t be going back
We had a week in October at half term, half board, family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We had emailed the hotel in advance to request an interconnecting room. We arrived at 9.20pm at reception who asked to go to the restaurant first before checking in before the restaurant closed. Back at reception we found they had been able to give us an interconnecting room. The two rooms were very big, clean with comfortable beds and big balconies with sun-loungers and table/chairs. However they were situated next to the entertainment which was loud. At 11.15pm my husband went to reception to if any other rooms were available. There were a couple of options but they wouldn't be available until the following morning so was asked to return in the morning. We returned in the morning spoke with the reception manager who was aware of our request and later that day after previous guests had checked out we were shown a large 2 bedroomed suite which we were upgraded to at no extra cost. The reception staff we found throughout the week to be friendly and helpful. The hotel didn't seem too busy. It was easy to find sun-loungers, umbrellas or the large double bed sun-loungers vacant at any time of the day. The pools were not too busy and a good temperature, although pool tiles could do with some refurbishment. We enjoyed the food and found the choice plentiful with different themes each evening. Half board worked great for us as we went out for lunch and we don't drink so unable to comment on the bars and snack bars or the value of all inclusive. The evening entertainment wasn't great, but I thought the facilities for families with young children were good. We went to some of the morning Pilates/yoga classes which were good nice to do outside. We found the gym somewhat lacking, but would hope from the amount of cables/holes in the floor that it was the indication of a gym refurb? We never waited long for a lift but used the stairs a lot. The short walk to Amadores beach and Puerto Rico was great on the path running alongside the sea, which we found to be a popular early morning run route.
Great location very good hotel fantastic climate with amazing views from our spacious balcony. We went bed and breakfast however breakfast choices were excellent with a choice of indoors or al fresco we also dined there a couple of evenings again very good. Also excellent spa again with great views. Only two things could have been improved first the gym had no decent cardio equipment unless you only want to do spinning and secondly when the air-con packed in it took nearly three days to fix. Otherwise no complaints at all.
Myself and my husband stayed in this beautiful hotel for a week to celebrate our Anniversary. Reception staff are pleasant, very polite & helpful. They spoil you in the variety of breakfast & dinner. Excellent service & the staff actually trying their best to make your stay incredible by all means. The best part is the hotel is situated on a hill when you take the elevator down to the promenade you are in walking distance between two beautiful beaches Puerto Rico beach & Amadores beach, both have plenty of shops, cafes, cocktail bars & restaurants. Will definitely go back.
So were to start, last year I accidentally booked the wrong hotel we always went to Gloria Palace Royal (4 yrs in a row). We were quite nervous about going to the Amadores hotel as we were so used to the other one. But has been the best mistake I made, as we decided to come back this year again. We always go half board 2 weeks starting last week in September. The rooms are really spacious and always clean and I quite like the carpet on the floor instead of the cold tiles. The hotel has always been accommodating when mum has e-mailed and asked for block 4 and a high floor, although your beside the road if your high enough you don’t hear the road noise. The staff at the pool bar Cristina, Ramon and Jesús were always lovely and had a good laugh with and Guillermo in the main bar was a lovely man, he always came over every night he was on a shook our hands and said hello. The waiter (so sorry can’t remember his name) who would sing and join in sometimes with the entertainment in the main bar in the evening was brilliant, we remember him from the other hotel and he was always so friendly. The food in the restaurant is your normal buffet food, I always liked the Chinese section when it was on. Although we had a later arrival from last yr, instead of being a cold buffet to you in your room they reopened the restaurant at 11pm, it meant a load of food didn’t lie round your room. Never had any difficulty getting a lounger, plenty of beds. Few wee things that could be improved, the lift are very slow at block 4 and when they arrive sometimes they’re not level with the floor and you can trip into them. The air con was not the coolest but failed a couple of days in a row on a really hot week, we kept being promised it would be fixed but some days it got as high 29 degrees in the room and the air con in the games room felt non existent. All in all we had a great holiday and as soon as we got home we’ve already booked next years 2 weeks 😁
We have just returned from another stay at the Gloria Palace, this time we booked direct with the hotel rather than through a package deal. Booking through their website was straight forward plus I emailed regarding them organising a transfer from the airport, this was sorted and at a very good price. Check was swift and was greeted by a very nice friendly female who arranged for drinks on arrival, a nice touch after a long day travelling We stayed on a B&B basis as we like to venture out for dinner to some of our favourite restaurants. The only downside to this the drink are very expensive....Malibu and coke and whiskey coke €16, OUCH. This time we stayed in block 3 which had an enormous balcony far bigger than previous visits, as usual the room was a good size and cleaned on a daily basis to a good standard Breakfast has everything you could ask for and should please all tastes, arriving early is recommended as it can be a bit manic if you get down after 08.30 Plenty of sun beds and sun shades and no issues getting a bed. Our 2nd stay this year and can’t wait to return for our 6th visit next year Good work Gloria Palace
Myself and my wife have just returned from our seventh visit to this amazing hotel. The food is to a high quality, self service, the food is well varied, kept hot and well replenished. we always eat out-side on the most beautiful balcony imaginable, with views that stretch across the ocean to Tenerife. there is plenty to drink on the all-inclusive,although a second draught-beer of paler variety would be a big plus as would a less dry house wine, which is a little sharp. if you are a people person, the bar is a good place to meet and socialize and also get to meet the astonishing Birgit Langer who takes the day shift, speaking three languages or more fluently always with great intelligence and humour.she is a great asset to this hotel. other staff I should mention are Dilson, Oscar Gabrielle,Ivan,Adan,Jessica Wacci they know me by name now and thats a nice touch. They are a very hard working bunch and always with a smile, well done Gloria Palace and please pass on our high regards to your wonderful team of staff especially Birgit.
Me and my husband was here for a week and we had an amazing time! We had halfboard and ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel and lunch either by the beach or in the hotel by the pool. We loved the infinity pool! And that it was close to the beach. The straff was very friendly and the last day our flight departed at 23 pm, we could use an extra room for showering before our flight.
Just back from a week at the Gloria P. We have been going there for years.... Unfortunately this time I experienced what others have said about Reception Staff.... totally rude... upon arriving at hotel we approached desk and nan behind desk didn’t even lift his head to greet us.. just said passports.... whole process of check in was disgraceful. Also they have changed cocktails to an automatic machine( for all inclusive).....these are disgusting.. because such a shame as we used to look forward to the cocktails by the pool bar. On the other hand I have to praise the staff in the animation team. They made my daughters holiday absolutely amazing they are so interactive with the children they are just a complete asset to this hotel. Thank u all from Sophie !!!!. See u next Easter. It was lovely also lovely to see Theo at the bar he is a great asset too
