It's so hard to find rentals that will accept dogs--especially those over 25lbs--that we could hardly believe our luck in finding this gem near the Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Park. This cottage has beautiful garden areas & screened-in areas for hanging out, several fountains & birdbaths to attract wildlife, and lots of windows throughout so even when inside you feel a connection to the outdoors. It's also a very quiet locale, which was appreciated. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Dean was an excellent host & responded quickly to inquiries. One thing to note is that the listing said fenced yard, but we found that it wasn't completely enclosed, as one side was open or recently downed. In fairness, we hadn't asked Dean about the fencing ahead of time as it didn't really matter that much to our situation, but if you're a dog parent for whom it does matter, it's something to double-check about with Dean. As others have noted, the most direct drive to the Big Stump entrance to the Kings Canyon/Sequoia Nat'l Park is rather twisty, scenic, & takes about half an hour. All in all, we & our dog had an extremely relaxing stay at this beautiful cottage and enjoyed the daily visits of orioles and other birds.
