Had reservations and checked in at 3 PM and our room was ready. The room worked out okay with a king bed which was comfortable. Everything was clean in the room and they served breakfast in the morning. The tub/shower and toilet is a separate room.
The hotel is decent enough. About what youd expect for the money. A little stingy with the towels(no hand towels provided) and toilet paper but ok otherwise. We had booked with air miles so everything was paid in advance which the desk clerk acknowledged upon check in. Days after we checked out I realize my credit card was charged the full amount for 2 nights. So I called the hotel 2 different days and was told they would call me back after they looked into it. No one called. Also emailed Marriott's customer service department, no response at all. Finally, not knowing what else to do I contact Air Miles who called the hotel and got me my refund. And the Canadian dollar since went up so I was still out $10 because of the exchange for a charge I never should have had in the first place. Very frustrating, will not stay here again.
We arrived after a long drove to the hotel staff screaming at each other in the entrance about their poor working conditions. We were then put in the most dank, dark disgusting room we have ever seen. My husband and I travel a lot....10 to 12 hotels per year minimum....never seen one so gross for $135 a night. Literally had to call the front desk because there was poop on the toilet seat, clumos of hair in the tub and filthy glasses. Cleaning lady was quick but the front desk staff did NOT apologize for giving us a dirty room. Too many fabulous hotels in Minot to stay in this dive EVER again!!!! Shame on you Marriott!!
Not what you would expect from a Marriott family member, old and not well looked after. Bad mattress old towels and small rooms. Hope they do better in a close future. Not suitable for vacation, if you are on the road could do
I spend about 150 nights a year in a hotel due to work. This Fairfield, on my opinion, is far below what the Marriott expects. It is simply old and run down. The 0600 breakfast was. OT ready until 0615! I was trying to get on the road and finally just toasted a bagel. No printer was working so I did not get a receipt. Need to be sold to cheaper hotel chain or renovated. Staff was great but hotel is old..... stay at Hampton in Minot!
I'm not overly impressed with the hotel. It has signs of being an older hotel that has received a face lift. The furniture is outdated but that's okay with me. The bed's the most important thing and it's pretty good. The A/C unit is a little temperamental. It's a dial as shown in another review and you go from warm in the room to really cold after barely moving the dial (and I like my rooms cool, but this is cold!). The hallways could use a better cleaning. The person above me sounds like they're about to come through the ceiling. Not sure if it's thin floors or the person is a really heavy walker. Fortunately tonight has been quieter. No idea if they person isn't there or a person with better hotel etiquette has moved in. The printer they have connected to the computer wasn't added to the computer so you can't print. And my room is smaller than I'm used to from a Marriott. There's enough between nice amenities and some below average features that balances this out to an average hotel. It's not bad, but I would think you're not going to be wowed if you've stayed at a nice Marriott before.
Was a pleasant experience, didn't have a reservation, just walked in and got a room, received a discount as my Mom is retired military! Room was clean and comfortable and the pool was nice, as was the whirlpool! Breakfast was good and filling in the morning, good way to start the day! Overall a nice place to stay in Minot!
The hotel looks a bit tired and although I don't have any complaints it was nothing special. Location is convenient. Room was clean and comfortable, pool was the perfect temperature to cool off after a hot day.
Quick stop on the way to Canada, rooms were clean and pretty much everything you expect from aFairfield Inn. We enjoyed the breakfast and appreciated the fact that it was ready at 6 am. There is a wings and more restaurant right next door, that had a great salad.
Five nights, one maid complete service. First night, busted TV but a replacement was quickly screwed down to the dresser. Room with two queen beds, only one had a full set of sheets. Room got a full maid service the next morning. Saw the morning breakfast clerk bare-handing the sausage into the chafing dishes. So maybe stick with the yogurt. Sunday, no maid service period Monday, no maid service by 4pm. Trash emptied and towels but no beds or no bathroom service. Tuesday, finally trash empty by 4pm but no beds or bathroom service. Never dusted, never vacuumed, never felt comfortable. Impossible that there was a manager on site. This hotel has the nerve to change extra on weekends
