Upon arrival I was told they had upgraded me to a different property. Originally I had booked two beds and the new room had one king size bed. Even though I would have preferred two beds, it did work out. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay again. Very good value.
I liked the rustic look and "old style" of the building. The set up of the second property could be more welcoming.
The neighborhood is questionable -Panhandlers etc. My wife did not feel safe. No resturants in the area except for the hotel across street which was part of same property and it was expensive even with discount. The continental breakfast-items had been left out for some days-bread and an orange were mouldy.
Room covered with mold, roon leaking, tv doesnt wirk.
I would not come back. Better choices for the money in the area.
Construction going on in the area making it very difficult to get to the parking area, or even walking around the area. Not happy about the $10.00 parking charge put on my credit card. Was only told about that as I was checking out. Wasn't mentioned when I made the reservation, or when I checked in.
terrible. stinks. murky. overcharged above what orbitz charged. terrible breakfast. rotten eggs. dirty. old carpet. sketchy neighborhood. Just awful.

I feel very bad but this hotel needs to be cleaned up!!! The hotel entrance is very dark and dirty looking. The rooms are old. The walls in the room were very dirty. Carpet was very dirty, stains all over.
Nice location (close to Marquette), decent price, off street parking. However, the hotel had a bit of a smell to it. The TV did not work in the first room we were given. They relocated us to another room, where the TV turned on, but there was no sound. I gave up. The free breakfast consisted of assorted breads and muffins (fresh daily? I doubt it), and a toaster - about what I expected, though. All in all, it's a good hotel for young alumni on a budget.

The hotel staff, especially the male front desk person was super great. Hotel itself could use some updating and flair. It lives in the shadow of the one across the street and I just feel it is missing an opportunity to really shine. A lot of potential with friendly staff and the hotel is in a good location. Not a bad place. I’d stay again...i just hope it gets updated soon.

We are aware of the challenges in our neighborhood. This is why we have a minimum of two bellman on duty at all times. Panhandling is not tolerated and is stopped by our team members as soon as we are aware of it. We work very hard to eradicate any interactions without guests that would make people uncomfortable. We apologize that you encountered this situation, as we understand that it is uncomfortable. Thank you sincerely for your comments and observations.
