We stayed in one of the Heliotropio apartments with a stunning view overlooking the Pollonia Bay. Like many other travellers have commented, it was beautifully quiet, being situated almost at the end of the peninsula. It's an easy 5-minute walk to the village centre, which is essentially a string of restaurants and cafes on the waterfront. The apartment was modern, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Cooking facilities and equipment were adequate for basic meals as an alternative to eating out. The spacious two-level deck is the centrepiece of the sea-facing apartments, with plenty of shade under the large umbrella for al fresco dining, and relaxing from morning to evening. The apartment has a queen-size bed in the bedroom, and 2 sofa beds in the lounge, and a clean bathroom with a good shower. The apartment was cleaned and towels were changed every day which was a treat. The owner, Anastasia, was very friendly and attentive, and keen to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had a very enjoyable 5-day break, which was made very special by the fabulous location and view right at the water's edge. The only area of improvement we would suggest is in regard to storage space, which in the "Gorgo" apartment, was a little inadequate. There is one wardrobe with hanging space but no shelves. So some clothes had to be kept in suitcases. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant and comfortable place for a holiday and highly recommended to anyone thinking of visiting Milos.
We had the most incredible stay at Heliotropio Hotel in July 2018. Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) was very comfortable in the terraced apartment. The kitchen was more than suitable for our cooking requirements. The bathroom was very clean. We spent many hours sitting on the terrace watching the kids in the water only metres away. Walking to the taverns in the evening was very safe and close. The hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable, providing many recommendations on activities and locations to visit. We plan on returning to this amazing hotel and island.
We spent 5 nights at Heliotropio in late September. The hotel is at the far end of the bay, 10 minutes flat walk from the centre of Pollonia, which makes it a nice quiet place to stay. We had a room looking out into the bay and sat on the sheltered balcony every morning to have our breakfast and watch the comings and goings of the local boats. Even when a cyclone blew through the Cyclades bringing gale-force north winds to Milos, we could sit out on the balcony in comfort watching the waves crash on the south side of the bay. The room was beautifully clean with plenty of storage space. A small safe was available for valuables. Anastasia and her daughter are super-friendly and attentive. They even provide you with a map on arrival hand-marked with serving suggestions on places to visit and eat at. Anastasia will provide breakfast in the hotal at extra cost if you wish. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it!
Fabulous apartments in a very special location a short walk into the little town with a lovely beach, and cafes and restaurants.. We stayed in the Kalypso apartment. Wonderful views, amazing large terrace, spacious apartment so clean and beautifully kept. The owners so helpful with advice on where to visit, help with hire cars etc. If you are coming to Milos definitely stay at Heliotropio at Pollonia.
Wonderful clean spacious room with kitchenette. Very well appointed with beachy stylish decor. No sea view but only a couple of mins from beach so not actually needed. Quiet location but only a 5-10 min walk to bus stop & restaurants. Wonderful helpful hosts & couldn’t fault service or facilities. Will be back to this gorgeous accommodation on the beach!
We absolutely loved our stay at Heliotropio studios and apartments. It is situated at the quiet end of the beach, has a wonderful view over to the beach and town of Pollonia and has its lovely own small private beach which you can swim from. To walk to the main town and beach is 5 minutes. Anastasia and her Mother were great hosts and really really helpful. Our room was lovely with two small balconies and was spotlessly clean and was also cleaned every day. Would highly recommend this place for absolute quiet and relaxation and very good value. We will definitely be back. Thank you.
this place is a special to stay in pollonia, the room is very comfortable and well decorated, amazing view on the pollonia’s bay. the owner is professional, but at the same time nice and kind, is always available in case you need help. i will definitely suggest this place to stay in pollonia. enjoy your stay, you will love milos!
We ended up with a full apartment called the Calypso and I would request it again. We had the best patio of all, two levels with table, sun beds, bar stools and BBQ and it was mostly private. We are right above a small beach you can access to swim in the bay and I did every morning. The patio area was so nice we spent one full day eating drinking napping and swimming right there rather than go to the beach. They provided beach towels and an umbrella. The apartment had a really clean big bathroom with walk in shower, good hair dryer, lots of good amenities and lots of plugs. You do not flush your TP in Pollonia (at any of the places we were). The owners were more than helpful to us. We had a living room with couches and chairs, a fully stocked kitchen (utensils not food) and again lots of plugs in both places. The bedroom was a separate room and has its own a/c so we could close the door and keep that one room cool, opening the rest of the apartment to the outside. There was storage, more plugs, small tables in the bedroom, and doors opening to the patio as well. The WiFi was good even out on the patio, and I had a choice of three signals. They provided port pickup free which was great when out ferry was five hours late and we arrived at 2:00 am. They called for a taxi to return us, I paid for that. The family owners were helpful and provided good advice about things to see and places to eat. It was a great four days and we would for sure stay again. You get what you see on their website.
My fiance, Emily, and I stayed at Heliotropio for 4 nights and we could have easily stayed much longer. The room was very clean and quiet with a private roof deck that had an amazing view of Pollonia's waterfront. Anastastia and her daughter Androniki were incredibly kind and hospitable, giving us a very detailed map of all the best places to go on the island (so many amazing beaches). We rented a car and there was ample parking on the property. While Milos seems like it's best to have a car to get to all the beaches during the day, Heliotropio was walking distance to many wonderful restaurants so we were able to leave our car at home and drink wine to our hearts content. Heliotropio is a wonderful place that we hope to come back to very soon!
This is a review for the Studio with partial sea view. This hotel is perfectly positioned with a 15min walk into the town centre of Pollonia. My room was tastefully furnished and clean with a small private balcony overlooking the bay. There is also a large shared rooftop terrace above although during my stay I was the only one using it. The rooftop terrace offers excellent views of the bay and sunset. The staff was very accommodating and provided a hand marked up map showing all the best beaches and restaurants on the island. The optional breakfast was quite good although only served from 9 am which was a problem if you had an early organised tour or an early ferry departure. I found Pollonia to be the perfect place to stay on the island, it was very quiet with plenty of nice restaurants close by. A vehicle or moped is a must if you want to explore the island and it’s amazing beaches. There were several reasonably priced car rentals nearby and the property had plenty of parking. A taxi from the main port was about €20.
