The hotel is quiet, clean and not far from a metro station. The staff at the reception was kind and helpful but the restaurant, the breakfast and the food was a big deception: one morning I had to ask for omelette, cheese and even cups to be brought because everything was empty. The soup with truffles had truffles only the first time we ordered it.
It all started at the check-in. I spent extra time to do the online check-in before heading to the hotel and of course all these are useless. I still have to wait quite long in line for the check-in at the desk. There is a special lane for online check-in but its useless as no one is there. I got an e-mail and sms saying that my key is ready at the reception but not at all! I still have to present my passport and do the normal check-in which took so much time and the receptionist is so slow. So please stop inviting me for online check-in for my future trips as its useless. Its just wasting my time since the special counter at the reception is no one working there and I still have to wait in line and do the normal check-in again. The room is too hot with the thick blanket. I understand that its almost winter not and the air-condition is not working and only heating. Without the heating turn on, the room is still much too hot and could not sleep well at night as the blanket is so thick and we kept sweating the whole night. I can't imagine what it will like in the room if the heating will be on. It will be like sleeping in a Sauna. The room has a mini-bar but without the price list in it or anywhere in the room. Some guest might think that its free and we have to call the reception to find out the price from an unfriendly receptionist. Its such a shame for Accor to have only one person working at the reception which caused a long waiting time for check-in and this also explains why the special counter for online-check in is useless in this hotel. Its the first time I use your online check-in and I will not use it again as its totally waste of time. The handle for the tap at the wash basin in the toilet of our room is Broken and the hotel did not even bother to repair it. Its quite troublesome and tricky to turn the water on and off with the broken handle. The table light on the writing desk is also not working which makes the room quite dark. A lot of stuffs in the room is not working and not up to the Novotel Standard. I would say its worst than the IBIS Budget standards! Should really consider to stop staying with Accor Group Hotels especially the premium ones like Novotel as its not worth the price for the standard we received in comparison to the IBIS and other Hotel Groups which is much better value.
The room we were given had old sheets on the fold out sofa, the plug in the bathroom sink was broken, no coffee cups and we only received 1 robe for 2 people as part of the 'executive' package. The breakfast was basic. On the positive side parking was free.
The hotel is a typical Novotel and is located in a residential suburb about 15 minutes away from the Duomo by metro and 15 minutes from the Central station by tram -which stops directly outside the hotel. The rooms were large and comfortable with mini bar, kettle and reliable WiFi. There was however a problem with mosquitoes and I got bitten quite a bit during the night, so don’t open the windows if you can avoid it. The breakfast room was large and there was a good selection of hot and cold food. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as the food was too expensive and fancy, but the Ibis hotel next door has a fantastic burger restaurant where you can customise your burgers by their component ingredients, and it was good value for money.
Although I wasn't sleeping in the hotel I did had dinner there. The restaurant is cosy and replenished with good taste. The food is better than a lot of the restaurants outside. The staff is polite, attentious and helpful. Special thanks to Sergio and Luana, who have been most kind and professional. The cheesecake is grand!
Very well located close to the new Ca Granda metro station (only 200mts). Some offer of good local Italian restaurants around. Very nice staff always very supportive for whatever you need. Tip : they rent mobile internet devices for only €6 per day.
Stayed here as part of a coach tour. The hotel is situated out of town in a rundown area. Rooms were ok, food not great, wine reasonable. No bar as such, just part of the foyer. Dinner was a set meal with no choice and breakfast the usual bread, ham and cheese. Not great but not terrible either.
I stayed three nights at this hotel. Usually Novotel properties are nice. This one is not. My room was very hot with no functioning air conditioning. I discussed the situation with the front desk and their only recommendation was to open the window. They would not give me another room or have maintenance repair it during the three days. I opened the windows and my room was swarmed by mosquitos. My room was on the third floor just above part of the second floor roof with a lot of standing water and debris so a perfect place for mosquitos. Additionally it is in a very loud area so there was a lot of noise outside when I opened the window. People yelling and playing rap music all night. I had a business meeting the next day and had to work off of no sleep. I thought maybe the air conditioning problem was isolated to my room but I talked to another colleague staying there and they had exactly the same problem. I turned in laundry to be done which was supposed to be done by the evening of the next day but of course it was not. Plumbing issues in the bathroom with the sink and shower not draining. Additionally the quality of food at the breakfast is poor. This hotel is not a good option for business travel and I would avoid it.
Decent hotel, welcoming staff. Small rooms, definitely for a Novotel. WORST BREAKFAST EVER! The eggs tasted really bad, bacon was raw, sausages came from packets. The ciabatta bread was good, but unfortunately there was not much to put inside it. The one single option of Salami (expected more choice of a 4 star) was decent, the ham was passable, and there was only 1/2 inch thick cheese squares and no sliced cheese. Also no cream cheese or other spreads, only butter. The juices were decent at best, with the apple not being as bad as the orange one. Pancakes were the highlight, although they were undercooked and stuck to the teeth while eating, and broke apart when trying to pick them up with a tongue. I would definitely recommend against having breakfast here, or any meal really, as you can usually derive the quality of the hotel restaurant based on the quality of the breakfast served. Lighting in our room was abysmal, felt more like something downscale like Travelodge or IBIS Budget. Cold green-ish lights and no built-in lighting on the ceiling. Blocked HDMI inputs in the TV meant we couldn't watch Netflix like we usually do on trips, nor plug in the SNES Mini videogame console we bought at city center. The hotel is also reasonably far from the nearest tube station (500m), and parking is expensive (15€ per day) unless you're lucky to find a parking spot just before the garage entrance. There's not much in way of restaurants and places to eat around it either, and with the restaurant situation, your only option is Deliveroo or UBER Eats, or going downtown to eat. Oh and that nice swimming pool? You're out of luck if you arrived after the summer ends or before it begins. They close the pool, and you may sit next to it, but not dive in.
The Novotel Milan has all the trappings of the Novotel brand - nice, clean rooms with great service. Breakfast and food is good and there is a pool too! The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood and it is located near a metro station! A great stay!
