Stayed here with tour group for 2 nights. Not close to city center but near (not close) train station. Not much in walking distance (had to walk 4 blocks for ATM), surrounding area not very nice. Rooms modern, clean, average size for Italy. Reception desk staff unfriendly and unhelpful...I was only person standing in front of reception desk, not busy at the time and was ignored. When I asked him a question, he pretty much looked uninterested and walked away without answering my question (on June 3 @ 1400). The dinning staff was the complete opposite, very friendly and helpful, good selection for breakfast. Wifi works well. Comfortable bed and pillow.
Not as close to Garibaldi Station as we were led to believe, in fact we couldn't even find it to begin with and had to take a taxi from the station on arrival. Rooms are clean but quite small and the outlook was to a dirty street on an even dirtier apartment block. Not really a nice area. We booked half board and I would not recommend that anyone do this. Hotel is not geared to half-board guests and we were given a menu with a choice of 5 items. My husband asked for a potato and told it was not included. We were given the same menu on the second night and, no doubt, this would have been ongoing had we not checked out after 2 nights and moved to a more central hotel. Also the bar person was also the waiter so often we had to wait nearly 10 minutes for attention in the bar
The Holiday Inn is ver close to the Garibaldi Station which is great , but also tram 2 stop is in front and will take you all the way to Duomo so you can get around on the tram as well and be dropped of in front of the hotel. The rooms is neat, clean and serviced. There is mostly italian channels on the TV so not so much to watch if you are english :-), news channels is available in english. Breakfast is ok, there is something for everyone to eat. Not a great variety for vegetrians. Staff is ver helpful and friendly. Room service menu is light and again not so many vegetarion options. All food was fresh and tasty. I had a lovely stay at the hotel, the staff is happy to help with adminstration tasks or questions that you might have as traveller as well as helping you book a taxi.
I spent the night here because I had an early train to Paris from Garibaldi station. This hotel is very close to the station and it is an easy walk. There are a number of restaurants near by for catching dinner. I agree with a previous reviewer, do not pay for breakfast when you book your room. They charge 16 Euro at the time of booking but 10 Euro when you check in. It is worth 10 Euro, although the coffee machine was producing rather weak coffee this morning, but it is not worth 16. The rooms were very clean, compact but it had a nice shower. The restaurant in the hotel is an Asian Fusion restaurant. A number of the restaurants in the immediate vicinity are Asian. But it is a short walk to many nice restaurants. Enjoy
I stayed here last night. The rooms are small but clean and the beds comfortable so we had a good nights sleep. The hotel is ok but nothing special. The staff are attentive and pleasant and overall I enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was just acceptable but the morning staff seemed unsettled and overwhelmed. They stole a guys breakfast from his table as he went to get a coffee. His face when he came back was hilarious. It's just not quite worth a 5* review but perfectly acceptable. I would certainly recommend it but as I said it's not the very best I've stayed in.
The hotel is located in a good location with 3 tram stations and a metro station near by. The rooms are not large, but clean. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is good. Some noise from trams can be heard thru the double-glassed windows. No TV stations in English.
I've visited friends at this hotel and the servers are friendly and professional. This Holiday Inn is a good bet and not as expensive as other hotels. Very pleased with common areas restaurant and bar!
No complaints at all, for the price they charge you they deliver very nice and clean room. Close to garibaldi Station , very convenient. Reasonably priced, i did not try the breakfast but i think they offer very good deal overall for a budget hotel.
Lodged two nights for a business meeting. The location is very convenient, close to the Porta Garibaldi train station. I was given a room in the back, pretty silent - given the hotel location. My room was a little small, while bathroom was definitely spacious. Free wifi through the structure. Boiler, instant coffee and tea is provided. Rich breakfast including local delicatessen. Overall good value for money.
Checked in for two night to stay in hotel as its near by to work location. Staff at reception was welcoming and roomsize was decent as well. Room was bit warm but room Air conditioning was not working . When I asked staff to fix it they said its can't be changed from room and suggested to open window. Room being front facing has lot of traffic noise- very noisy (I mean it). There was noise of trams, cars, ambulance and all vehicles crossing the junction. Staff were sorry for that and next day suggested to leave window open in evening when I was going out for dinner. Breakfast was good and staff takes care of you. Apart from room air conditioning I liked this hotel therefore 3 stars.
