I hate jumping on one issue, as nice as the hotel is, but the price of breakfast is just so out of line with the rest of the hotel. Two continental breakfasts, I'm talking a coffee, a croissant and some rolls, fruit and an orange juice, was $86! The next day, around the corner at a delightful restaurant, breakfast for two was $26.
This was our second stay at the Grand Hotel et de Milan. We made our reservation through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts thereby receiving the amenities of the program. We were upgraded to a spacious room on the fourth floor. The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful with attentive service. The central location of the hotel enabled us to walk throughout Milan. The service and ambience of the stunning bar area were perfect. After a matinee at La Scala (bought tickets at home before the trip) we had a delicious dinner at Don Carlos. The entire staff went out of their way to make our visit memorable.
I spent a first night elsewhere with my family and moved here for two nights on business, and while that other palazzo was newer and more “fabulous”, there is an authentic charm about this hotel I really warmed to. My room was small, but robes and slippers are cozy and quality, the staff kind and attentive without being as solicitous as my other spot. The bar and lounge are classic meet-up spots, or nice place to unwind alone after a hectic day. Teeny gym, but modern equipment. You can imagine you’re a guest in your Italian friend’s city palazzo - you’d enjoy the quirks and authenticity and never ever complain. Comfy, lovely, warm.
A very stylish and old fashioned glamour. This hotel is well situated (right by metro) and beautiful. But you do pay for it!! Very nice room but nothing unusual and there was no complimentary water which was surprising for a hotel of this nature. Lovely bathroom with robes and an endless supply of slippers! Think the room cleaners are very kind and thoughtful. Breakfast was not included and I could not justify €35 (for a buffet!!) Pop over to the Armani cafe instead opposite it’s surprisingly reasonable. The bar is quite beautiful and although very expensive the nibbles you get do make up for it. Overall pleased I went but don’t think I’d go back.
Have stayed here over 25 years - always pure comfort, wonderful location, professional staff. The concierges have pulled off miracles, the rooms comfortable. This visit for 5 nights....I found the same. Room and bath comfortable and clean. This time, however, there was quite a bit of noise from someone upstairs.. bumps, and high heels on bare floor.. and some street noise.....unfortunate. The restaurants and bar are good with many good choices. And.....most wonderful - The location - next to Armani's giant complex of store, book store, cafe etc and steps from the wondrous Via Montenapoleone neighborhood with shops, restaurants and maybe 15 min. walk to the Duomo and the Vittorio Emanuele II Galleria and La Scala. Wish I could stay another week and will return!
I was in Milan for an overnight stay from 27-28 January. My partner and I booked this hotel due to its central location and great reviews we have seen online. We were not disappointed; we had a friendly welcome by the staff and were given a fantastic Junior Suite room. The bar was well stocked and made a marvellous cocktail - Its a lovely small hotel right in the centre of the city; a short walk to all the main areas of interest. The staff are naturally friendly and are eager to assist which is appreciated. Thank you for the biscotti gift in the room! That was a delicious surprise!
If you plan a trip to Milan this is a perfect place to stay Perfect location +++ Great Hotel Friendly and professional staff Delicious breakfast Clean and spacious rooms Warm environment and decor In front of Montenapoleone Street Few minutes walk to Duomo Center Highly Recommended+++
This hotel is absolutely incredible and brings a little bit of history into a modern city. The staff are attentive and thoughtful. Beds are incredibly comfortable and the services provided are unparalleled. A shoe shine in the evening following a turn down service is provided. Minibar is very expensive so I’d suggest buying a bottle of water to bring back to the hotel!
I booked through a large travel firm for 3 nights but due to a family crisis l was forced to cut it short by one night. I gave the front desk more than 24 hours notice but when l came to check out they said if l had booked direct they would refund the last night but since l had booked through an agent they wouldn’t. On returning home l spoke to the agent who contacted the hotel. The hotel came back saying l hadn’t contacted the front desk and that it was one of their busiest times. A Thursday night mid January, l don’t think so! All this being said for the cost, the room was noisy, and totally over priced. Extremely disappointing experience overall
The legend lives on. And keeps its memories in the same orderly way like a grandma stores old letters in an ancient secretaire. Use your room key to open the box and flip through timeless pages. Or write a new page of your own!
