This place was perfect for us. The décor seemed a bit dated (perhaps our tastes are behind the times?) but it was neat and clean and stylish in its own way. The bathroom was quite nice, featuring a large tub & bidet. The bed was big and comfortable and we had a balcony that looked out over the street below. The wireless was a bit spotty in our room, which was frustrating, but we were able to connect easily in other parts of the hotel. The staff was very helpful, guiding us to nice restaurants nearby on both nights we were there. Milan was the surprise of our 10 days in Italy. Wee will definitely be returning, and we will stay here again if we can. Highly recommend.
Let me start with the positives: This hotel is very central, close to the duomo and near the station. You are able to walk most places from the hotel. Breakfast was included, it was continental a wide large variety Hotel staff were nice, they weren’t exceptional though. There was lift access which was good for luggage. The hotel room was quite big which was good The negatives: Hotel was very very old, it was a big spacious room had places for luggage etc but had an old iron press which was very complicated to use, furniture was old and very used. The aircon was okay but didn’t provide the best cool air. There were stains all over the carpet that didn’t look good at all. There were stains on the lampshades aswell. The bed was firm but not horrible. Pillows were okay Bathroom was clean but the bathtub was rusting and had a huge chip on it. There is no safe in the room, the safe is with the hotel staff which I didn’t trust. I was overall very disappointed with a four star hotel in the middle of milan being unclean and not renovated.
Good staff , very good breakfast, very convenient location. Rooms are small but well organized. Our room did not have a view. Good soundproofing and air conditioning. Multi lingual 24 hour desk. Standard
This centrally located hotel is super clean and the staff are very friendly. However, the decor really is from another era. My room on the 9th floor had a little balcony and there were lots of amenities but the electronic curtains (yes, really!) were dysfunctional and the integral bath plug was broken. The mattress was very hard, as were the pillows. Most annoying is the lack of electric plug sockets by the bed. The hotel was obviously fitted out before mobile phones but it’s very annoying!
My little brother and I needed one night in Milan after flying in early morning before heading to Florence and stumbled across this great hotel. Although the room decorations are a little basic, the room was very clean, smelled fresh, and the bathroom was very large and clean. This hotel had a 24 hour front desk staff, full restaurant, timely laundry service, two modern elevators, diverse channels on the flat screen (including English CNN CNBC and others), plenty of wall outlets, and large quiet rooms. We arrived very early having flown in from the US in the morning, well before check in, and they still got us a room right away. We choose twin beds and were worried about the mattresses but we were both VERY surprised with how comfortable and soft and plush the mattresses were. European hotels usually only give you 1 pillow a piece but we asked for extras. The air conditioning worked well, thank goodness and they even had hotel amenities like Qtips, sewing kits, and great soaps. For a budget friendly stay in Milan, this is a great deal! Walking distance to the duomo, Galleria, and short walk to the castles and parks. Only downside is the 20 minute walk to either train station, but the Uber’s aren’t too expensive. Thank you hotel Galileo for a wonderful stay.
GJC As others have noted, this hotel is really dated and needs some serious investment. Also, because the air con doesn’t work well it’s necessary to open the (double-glazed) windows, resulting in sleepless nights due to traffic noise
Fantastic location, short walk everywhere, clean and comfortable hotel, great value for the money. Breakfast was included and quite decent. Room was small as everywhere in Europe but sufficient and nice.
Hotel is in a perfect location to Duomo - 5 minutes walk. Supermarket is in 5 minutes walk distance in case you need some simple food. Other than that - good breakfast with amazing fresh Sicilian orange juice. Breakfast team are very professional, what impressed me most is that on my second day the lady remembered what I liked previously and served me the same again without asking. I truly loved the juice:) Coffee is perfect - very Italian. Recommend the place for both business and leisure.
This is a very central - high rotation - hotel, in terrible, decadent condition. Very expensive and with no luxury, this is actually a 2 stars hotel. We rented two rooms during our 4 nights stay, one on 4th floor, another on the 7th floor. Rooms are (mostly) large, but both rooms displayed very old furnitures, wallpapers ungluing from walls, synthetic slippery fabric sofas in both rooms where you sit and cushions go off place (I don’t know if I make me understand), lighting so dark that we had to ask for an additional lamp to be able to work properly in the room. The bed linen kind of minimalist. The bathrooms were both in terrible condition, towels of low quality, with old fittings dating from early 80’s. The compulsory breakfast during our stay was level 1⭐️ hotel, just an absolute dismaying quality. Even the so important café italiano, of just appalling quality. Conclusion: - we won’t be back - in that place, despite its very comfortable location, really in the heart of Milan.
You cannot beat the location for the price. The staff was very friendly as well. Clean rooms and the breakfast is good. The gym is terrible if that is something you covet. No problem giving this hotel a thumbs up.
