Lovely apartment! Stylish, up-to-date and very ergonomic. Large, comfortable rooms. Lots of natural light. Large covered balcony with bistro table and chairs--great for enjoying coffee, wine &/or food outside. The windows and balcony look onto the interior courtyard, not the street, making the apartment quiet. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and large armoire (with a very stiff sliding door). The large kitchen/dining/living room has an L-shaped roll-out sofabed that is reasonably comfortable (straight from Ikea, I wager). There are plenty of extra blankets and pillows. A special treat: when we visited there were three copies (in Italian) of Andrea Kerbaker's superb book of idiosyncratic self-guided walking tours of Milan, "Milano in 10 Passeggiate." If you read Italian, this book is an absolute gem. We did portions of two of the tours: one of churches, another of the Anni di Piombo (years of lead). The flat is on the 4th (5th for Americans) floor, with a nostalgic manually operated lift running up the middle of the somewhat scruffy stairwell. In typical Italian fashion, you have to climb several stairs to get to the lift! The location is perfect for exploring Milan without being right in the noisy centre. Lots of good shops, restaurants, cafes nearby. 30 minute walk to the Duomo. Finally the host was highly responsive and helpful, and checkin was easy (but the electronic doorknob took some practice).
