Hotel Blesius Garten

Great restaurant hotel combo

Short bus ride or moderate walk to the main section of the city. Room was nice but lacked a fridge.

Mercure Hotel Saarbrücken Süd

Not in a good location

Reception could not find my reservation until I showed my confirmation. (Booked through Orbitz) The hotel was nothing special and seemed geared to bus tour groups and maybe conference groups. There isn't much within walking distance except McDonald's.

ibis Styles Trier

Nice - but No A/C

The hotel was nicely appointed, new. The Restaurant, Osteria, was TERRIBLE (do not eat there), but the Hotel mgt. says it is not owned by them. The only issue we had with the room was the Air Conditioning or lack thereof. At first they told us there was no AC in the hotel. Then when we told them their own brochure in the hotel room said all their hotels 'were equipped with central Air Conditioning, they said that it was a water cooler and shared by all the rooms, but there was no air coming out of the room vents whatsoever for our entire stay. They said they would bring us something called a ventilator for the 2nd night but when we called after none showed up, they said they did not have one. When we checked out they asked us how our stay was, I told them about the A/C. The lady said they were having "technical problems" with it and that she had called a technician. That was a different answer for each day. It was uncomfortably warm for the room, so our experience was disappointing overall.

Park Plaza Trier

Very good value but parking is expensive

Great staff and well located but you will have to pay 14 euros per day for underground parking. There are few street parking options.
