I had a hard time deciding how to rate this hotel. It has some nice qualities, but the negatives were pretty bad. We stayed for 2 nights as a family of 6 and booked this hotel because of it's rooms with 3 beds. I don't know if the beds in all rooms are of the same quality, but ours were terrible. The mattresses feel like box springs. Every spring can be felt. My 15 year old woke up in the morning after the first night and said it was the worst sleep she'd ever had and I had to give my 16 year Aleve because his back hurt. For some reason, this hotel only puts sheets on the beds, even though they have air conditioning. So, the choices are - sleep without a/c and roast or with a/c and freeze without a blanket. Possibly worse than the bad beds were the roaches. Our room was infested. We killed 3 on the bathroom counter (all within 30 seconds) - including one that was IN my 8 year old's toiletry bag, with her toothbrush. We think they came up through the sink drain. I'm not high maintenance, but that was pretty gross. We blocked the drain with a cup for the rest of the stay. The positives were the friendly, helpful staff, the pretty pool area, the great location and the nice coffee shop connected to the lobby.
We could not have been happier with our hotel - centrally located, free parking, spacious rooms, nice little pool to cool off and money exchange (with the best exchange in the area). Rooms are somewhat dated but clean and would prefer softer/more relaxed lighting. We didn't have the inclusive breakfast as we ventured out to other places.
Spent 7 days there. Small boutique hotel located across from the very popular Parque Santa Lucia. So you can walk to many high end restaurants and clubs. Street closed off on weekends for foot traffic only. The hotel staff were very attentive the daily breakfast, included with our room was excellent. The patio and pool areas are beautiful with lush garden and trees growing up the walls. The king size room was very clean and looked newly remodeled. Included a mini fridge for our beers.... Free parking in two lots. Wifi in back rooms is a bit weak and hot water can take awhile to get there. We definitely will stay here again for a week or less visits and recommend it to all our friends. Just a great experience.
Our stay was for only one night. The hotel was clean, quiet and efficient. It is very close to the Santa Lucia Park right across the street where there are restaurants and meeting places and a band stand. Also entertainment on certain nights. The Historic tour bus pickup is only a half block away and is a very enjoyable outing ( A must very enlightening of Mayan culture). Also very safe day or night.
This 3 star hotel is clean big rooms great Centro location and good value you will not be disappointed here skip hotel coffee.. but off lobby really good coffee adjacent ..nice Plaza in front of hotel
We were a large group (20) on a tour of Mayan sites, and the tour started and ended at this hotel. The location is good, fairly easy to find, and within reasonable walking distance to a number of restaurants, town squares, churches, restaurants and sightseeing destinations. The breakfasts were quite nice, and the pool area was private, and served as a nice place to sit and chat over a bottle of wine. The staff was OK, but were unwilling to watch or store a suitcase, if one arrived a few hours before check-in......forcing me to spend several hours lugging a suitcase around town (I was told that others were allowed to store a bag behind the desk). The road (Calle 60) is fairly busy, and is closed on Sunday mornings (to allow residents to bike and walk). That is quite nice, unless you are trying to get a cab to the bus station. All things considered, I'd happily stay here again.
Awesome location, right at the beginning of a street that takes you through a lot of restaurants, squares, and a few clubs. The room was comfortable and the outside/backyard patio resembles a pretty Mexican style cottage with a swimming pool. There's a restaurant downstairs as well, and a general snack/food store/café right on the corner. There's a café right downstairs next door, and a salsa club right next door that plays salsa with a live band. (As of 11/24/16 at least.) The area is safe and the price is reasonable. It's the main area where you'd like to be if you want a taste of Mérida. This is actually the street that is closed off from Thursday through the weekend, when restaurants set up more tables in the street everyone can walk freely though the area. It's also about a 5 min drive from the huge artisan mercados. The free parking is actually in their own garage and is closed off during the late night hours. If you need to leave, they can open it for you. I would stay here again just because it's in the main area, inexpensive, and the parking garage is safe. (Uxmal is worth the trip by the way if you have the time.)
We had been travelling south America quite comfortably for a few months and then came here and loved it! The staff are so friendly and helpful. They always had a smile on their face. The relaxing atmosphere and ambience of the whole place makes you really feel like your on holiday! We will definitely be back :)
Our double room was comfortable, quiet and there was enough space for our family with two young kids (3 & 5 years old). Considering the class of the hotel, the room could've been in a better condition (one light was not working). Breakfast was not included in the price of the room, and was rather average. The hotel has a small garden with a swimming pool where one can relax. The staff was helpful, but spoke broken English. The hotel is 5 mins walk from the central plaza, close to a lot of restaurants. Local buses pass right next to the hotel.
Rooms are a good size, large bed, central location. Showing wear and tear in places which made the price we paid seem a little high. Breakfast not included, we feel it should have been for the price. Decent stop for our one night in Merida.
