What to say? The price was good. I guess you get what you pay for. The best part of the hotel was the restaurant, an attractive setting. There was an elderly couple who came to sing and play the guitar every day and they were just lovely, very sweet and genuine. I liked the restaurant wait staff very much, particularly Maritza(?) who was so helpful and enthusiastic, volunteering to share different events going on in the city and helping me make arrangements. The front desk staff was at best, not surly. Indifferent is a good description. There were people who appeared to be concierges but as I don't speak Spanish they were not able to help at all. the room was extremely dark and the lighting not at all good. It was very clean however and the mattress was fine.

Stayed here several years ago. Hotel has gone down in most areas. Water leaked over bathroom floor due to bad plumbing. No available hot water. Very stuffy dark room, moved to larger upgraded room the second nite. Upgraded room had windows and passable bathroom plumbing. Restaurant not up to Merida standards. Front desk staff not interested in comfort of guests. Hotel location is fantastic. One block from main plaza and cathedral. Very close to other hotels offering much better accommodations for competitive prices.

Stayed for a night and loved it! Location was great and the hotel had a beautiful Renascence/hacienda style to it. Would defiantly stay here again

This is the perfect location to visit the city. It's right in the center!

Great location, we had a wonderful time in Merida.

The hotel is located a block away from Merida's central square and next to a quaint little plaza. It is a bit run down (although it seems like it is undergoing some rennovation works at the moment). The rooms are very basic, but they are clean. Breakfast was just about ok, there isn't much variety.

Booked based on its rating. Can't complain. You get what you pay for. Nice staff, very accommodating. May book again.

I have used Hotel Caribe for years because I love the staff, the room is clean and airconditioned. You cannot beat the location. The last year I have been renovating a property in Merida and I stay at Hotel Caribe for a week at a time. The staff takes care of me like one of there own. Wifi is free but spotty, but you can get it somewhere in hotel. Its not a luxury hotel but a very good vaue. Many good restaurants close by. Looking forward to going again.

The hotel is in a really pretty historic building and right in the historic center of town. The rooftop swimming pool is a great spot to end a warm day and watch the sun set over the cathedral. Kids loved the pool. The rooms have minimal comfort but we got a really good rate. The bar and restaurant are not great but there is a lot of choice nearby, although mainly tourist places.

This Hotel is very nice and fantastic location. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great Value for the money. Have stayed her before and I will again.

The hotel is perfect to go visit Merida as is close to everything by foot. The room is clean enough and the beds are ok. It is perfect to be in Merida as you would loose a lot by just "staying" in the hotel. Beware of parking fees, the hotel only provides parking from 7pm to 7am, making the cost per day rise significantly as parking in Merida is expensive.

Great value; beautiful interior court yard, smalle ppol deck on 2nd floor with great views of cathedral, esp. at night. Rooms simple but clean, air conditioned, Wifi worked great. Great value foe being basically next to the zocalo.

While the hotel has a somewhat run-down feel, the room was clean & comfortable, albeit simple. Excellent location & beautiful roof terrace with a great view of the Merida Cathedral!

Perfectly situated and charming hotel. Very quiet in spite of being at the center of a very lively part of town. We had two rooms. One was fine, simple and very clean. Other was simple and clean but hot water was spotty and water pressure was minimal. No wifi in rooms. Mosquitos were an annoyance for Merida in general and for the hotel and our rooms in particular. That said we'd stay there again...the excellent location makes up for minor inconvenience - and we liked Merida very much.

Great location at the center of Merida, however it lacks a parking lot and a bigger pool. It could use some paint but the location is the best since you are located within walking distance of every major landmark downtown.

Excellent location, but location isn't everything. parking was a nightmare; I had to walk eight blocks to get to their parking lot, but I had to stop at another hotel to have the "estacionamiento" open for me. At night, I could park the car near by, but I had to be out of there by 7AM or else I would incur additional charges. Initially, I was put in a room with an airplane size bathroom. I requested a bigger room, luckily, I had had booked a room for two people. In short, I cancelled my stay there and moved to a better hotel.

Rooms old colonial but very clean and comfortable. Linens and towels changed daily. Hair dryer and extra towels supplied on request. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast in the open air patio. Even though there was street repairs all around we found it very quiet. The entrance to the Hotel is in a small park with lots of vendors, musicians and outdoor cafes and bars. The main square is one half block down and one block over. The are many fine restaurants with in walking distance. But if you are expecting the Hilton, you will be disappointed.

Love the top floor "superior" rooms around the pool. Great place to enjoy the city-you can walk everywhere in a few minutes.

It was a good hotel in a historic bulding at a great location. The staff were very helpful. Rooms were clean. Very good price.

The hotel is great located, well priced and the rooms are big and clean, the beds are regular comfortable, the personal is kind and helpfull anytime. There is no elevator, but if you don`t have trouble climbing a 3 floor stair, everything else is OK. As the hotel is located in downtown, you will have problems sleeping late because the buses noise si loud in the morning.
