Our hosts were very welcoming. The cabin was beautiful and just steps from the Desoto Falls. The view of the river was breathtaking. We enjoyed making smores at the fire pit. I highly recommend a stay at The Lazy River Cottage!

This was a great house to rent while visiting Mentone. The location was perfect for hiking/family time/football watching and indoor/outdoor fireplaces were great. Very comfortable and tasteful interior furnishings and everything was spotless. I imagine the house being on the river would be lots of fun for the warmer months as well. Our family had a wonderful visit.

What a special vacation property!

We had such a wonderful family time. The cabin is excellent; spacious and well laid out. Coffee on the back porch with its view of Little River is peaceful and relaxing.We paddled upstream, and downstream to Desoto Falls. The water was cold and clean. Some fished, some swam, some of us just sat and enjoyed the outdoors.

Lazy River Cottage Thanksgiving

My husband and I rented the Lazy River Cottage to host Thanksgiving with our two kids, their spouses and our first grandson. We were there the whole week of Thanksgiving and the cottage was perfect. It’s basically a new house with three bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, a loft with two single beds and a large living room. The kitchen was tight for preparing a large Thanksgiving meal, but we made it work. Even cooked a turkey sausage gumbo on Saturday while watching football! The beds weee very comfortable. The cottage is walking distance to the DeSoto Falls which were beautiful. Mentone is just a few minutes away by car and the DeSoto State park is about 10-15 minutes away. It was a great week!

The perfect Getaway

The property is EXACTLY as pictured and described! A perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday and opportunity to experience peace and tranquility without sacrificing modern conveniences… we really enjoyed some family time! Kayak and fire pit were amazing!

Fun weekend getaway!

Great location! So close to the waterfalls, Mentone Market and trails! Delicious food truck right up the way and we used the kayaks all day! Super clean, great beds (including trundle) and supplies for a great weekend with kids and no husbands!

The Week on Little River

The house was very spacious and easily accommodated our family group of 5. Everyone had their own bathroom and private bedroom with a queen or king sized bed. The washer/dryer were very useful. Perfect stay

Perfect spot for relaxation and family time. House, amenities, and recreational activities exactly as described. Our family ages 3 to 68 enjoyed every minute of our 4 day vacation. From hiking, to swimming, to kayaking, to fishing, to eating, to sitting by the fire pit and enjoying s’mores, to just plain ole relaxing on the deck- we all had a wonderful relaxing but busy long weekend.

Wonderful cabin in a great location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lazy River Cottage! It is a beautiful cabin stocked with everything you need. And it really is just steps away from DeSoto Falls - we walked there a few times during our stay! The kitchen is a tad small, but all the other rooms are very spacious and well furnished. We really enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the river, and making smores around the fire pit. Stephanie was very kind to check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this vacation rental. My family is already asking when we can go back! :)

Wedding weekend

We came to town for a wedding in Rising Fawn GA and stayed at the lazy river cottage. It was perfect. Beds were comfy and house was impeccable. Whenever I had any questions, the owner was fast to respond. Overall would give this a 5 star review. Beautiful home with plenty of small town charm.

Great weekend retreat

We could not have chosen a better location and home for our women's retreat. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, being on the water. The fire pit was wonderful and we walked to the falls. Simply perfect!
