This was perfect for our family!Two kitchen made cooking our Christmas dinner easy and saved a lot of time, both houses accompanied our family with enough room, played cards each night and the grounds were just beautiful!

When we arrived a lot of items were broken. The outside of the property worked great for us. The inside wasn’t as helpful. It seems this place hasn’t had the best up keep. The table in the play room wasn’t attached to the base. Making our puzzle time and games miserable. The dishwasher in eagles rest hasn’t been cleaned and smelled awful. All the dishes in the cabinet weren’t clean when we got them out. Eagles rest was also very dusty. Just a heads up the picture and rental agreement state that there are canoe and kayak on site. That isn’t the case. The paddle boat was also broken so our kiddos had to use paddles to use that. We come to Mentone every year for thanksgiving. We were hopeful this place would be somewhere we could come back to sadly we will def not come back.

Host welcomed us via text immediately after arriving and there was good communication throughout the trip. The outdoor firepit at Eagles Rest overlooking the lake was magical. Bedroom listing a little misleading.

Previous guest stole the remotes so only 1 tv was working. Otherwise host, amenities were great. Nice place for gatherings. We might make it a bi-annual event

Overall we loved it. It seemed it could have been tidied up just before we arrived. The porches were unswept and full of leaves, twigs, acorns/nut (trip hazard). Outdoor furniture needed cleaning from mildew and pollen. A resident bat droppings were on the porch & had been there a while. The cabins are gorgeous. Had a closed up smell that went away with the doors opened. The AC just happened to be clogged and water was standing on furniture, floor & laundry room was soaked. Over all maintenance was lacking TLC. The repair people came out on the weekend to repair it. Very nice people! Unfortunately the unit failed the next day. Refrigerator door could be hinged on the left side to open to the kitchen in the Eagles Nest. The king size bed was awesome & comfortable. Hot water hot! Make up wash cloths a nice touch. Kitchen utensils and cookware were awesome. Kids loved the air hockey game and paddle boards. We took 2 kayaks and the teens played football in the kayaks & on the paddle boards. The dads all enjoyed relaxing overseeing the water activities. Fishing was good. Firepit was enjoyed by all. We were enjoying a 50th & 74th Birthday 4 day weekend. The weather was nice. We had no reason to leave the cabins. 2 families joined in the overnight stay and family from within 1.5 hours joined us on Saturday. The games were fun. We played our family card game most of the weekend, ate good food and enjoy the outdoors. We spotted the eagle nest and an owls nest as well. No bears for us!

Younger kids enjoyed paddle boards. Family had a good time with our pool tournament. Sleeping arrangements worked out well. Everybody enjoyed the peace and quiet at this location

Excellent Get Away Place!

A group of church friends came together for a weekend retreat, and this was an excellent atmosphere. We had a wonderful weekend of cooking, eating, Bible study, games, and laughter. These cabins were so comfortable and had everything we needed for a great weekend together. It was a stormy, rainy weekend and we were warm and very comfortable in these great cabins!

Excellent Stay

There were 9 of us so we rented both cabins. What a perfect setup. No matter the weather there are plenty of things to do both inside and out. Quiet and tranquil location set in the quaint little town of Mentone. We will definitely consider this location for future trips.

Friends Weekend Trip

My friends and I had been discussing just such a trip for about a year. We were finally able to pull it off this November weekend. The house is exceptional in all aspects and covered all of our general needs in fine fashion. But it was the setting itself that made the weekend so memorable. Leaves changing, cool temperatures, cloudless skies, the wonderful house and all it offers and the addition of friends rarely seen made it as fun and relaxing and peaceful a time as had in quite a while. Many thanks to Holly for being so great and easy to work with.

Good group space

We come to Mentone once a year for a dance weekend and have had various experiences with renting houses/cabins. This was one of the best places we've stayed. The common area between the 2 houses proved a great place to hang out. We cooked a lot, did a little paddling and enjoyed being together. Nice spot for a large group

Great rental for family & friends

Set up for both Eagle's Rest and Owl Perch are nice for large gatherings. Enough room inside and outside so you are not on top of each other. Both beautifully decorated and both very well stocked kitchens. Will be booking a summer trip soon!

Awesome family retreat!

This property was just what we were looking for! We needed a place for my dad and his siblings to reunite for a needed get together. It was great seeing them watch the Bama game together for the first time in years. 😊 With both cabins there was plenty of room! All amenities were provided! We also enjoyed fishing and kayaking in the lake. Serene place!!
