The pool and the rooms are great value, very clean and modern. The entertainment considering this is a family place is also very good. My only quibble would be with the food. Although there is quite a range I found it to be quite frustrating. The toasters were broken, as were the juice machines. They need to introduce themed evenings, or have a station specifically for global cuisine i.e. Lasagna, fajita, stir fry. I found it was just a constant assault of carbs and meat and everything was pretty cold. Cocktails out of a carton as well are not cocktails.
This is our second visit to the Sol Falco in two years. Once again cannot fault this hotel at all, All meal times there is plenty for everyone to choose from. As well as good snacks hot & cold available throughout the entire day until 6pm. Drinks are nice and bar is very well stocked. Choice of swimming pools so there is always a quiet and calm area. Staff cannot do enough to help and are also very pleasant. There is a large lake nearby that offers many different restaurants and bars should you tire of the hotel. As well as 2 lovely beaches. Again excellent hotel, excellent stay & helpful happy staff. Would definitely recommend for a great break at a reasonable price. This hotel should be rated at 4.5 stars at least. Don't believe me?? Try for yourself you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful clean, large family hotel. Good choice of food/drinks & rooms bright and spacious. Lovely landscaped gardens & choice of pools with plenty of daytime activities or quiet pool zones. Beach is 5 mins walk with nice cafe/bar.
We have recently returned from a week at the sol falco . The hotel is very clean , food is good with lots of choice . The food at times could have been hotter and as previous reviewers have said there are microwaves available. I have never eaten so much fish on holiday . The entertainment by the pool could be VERY loud at times but other areas are available . The housekeeping on our room could be hit and miss as everyday something hadn’t been done . Bar staff on the whole very efficient but there are some exceptions and be warned that the Spanish and Italians do not wait their turn to be served ! You will be served eventually but very frustrating when you have been stood a while and an Italian breezes up in his budgie smugglers 🙁and gets served . The beach near the back entrance of the hotel is lovely with sun beds for hire . There is a restaurant just on the corner that does amazing tapas , best garlic spicy prawns I have ever had . Rose €2.50 a glass ! The other beach in town is more sandy . The marina is so pretty with lots of lovely bars and restaurants for people watching . We got the bus to Ciutadella from outside the hotel . Such a pretty place and lovely ice cream down by the port . Buses can be very busy at times with standing room only if they stop at all . If you want to go to Mahon you have to get the bus to Ciutadella . Walk to the opposite end of the park where the bus drops you , turn left and keep walking until the road bends slightly and you see a bar . The bus station is down some steps behind the bar . Express bus takes 50 mins, well worth it as Mahon is lovely. Check out the fish market as half of it is now a range of tapas bars . Back to the sol falco , would recommend it to friends and family as it’s clean , location is fab , food is good with lots of choice, majority of staff lovely and rooms are ok .
I absolutely loved my stay and my only regret was to give in more to the most lovely entertainment staff to take part in more activities and stay longer than just a week. The hotel was VERY clean and good quality facilities, overall good value for money! I only have one little complaint for being vegan I struggled getting food apart from salad and the occasional hot bit of food but not enough for a well rounded meal but I know it's something a lot of catering is only just recently coming around to.
Well needed getaway, lovely location, staff were helpful and friendly, lovely weather too, only negative is the dessert choices, there wasn't very much and my other half has a sweet tooth, really enjoyed the quiet pool areas , lots of choice.would definitely return.
Nice hotel if on a very large plot. Easy to get lost when you first arrive as all the blocks look the same. No lift if you are on a higher floor so you have to lug your suitcase up a couple of flights and no offer of assistance should you need it. Disappointed with the cocktails as they came out of a machine but overall the drinks offer was good. The food was okay for mass catering. It would have been nice to have an a la carte restaurant too. Pool areas nice but be quick to get a sun bed by the large pool!
This hotel is in a great location, clean and tidy to a good spec. Really comfortable and enjoyed staying there. Only strange things are only 1 bar with hardly any staff is operational at any time. Can lead to a bit of a wait with getting served especially in the dining hall. The dining hall can be a little chaotic. Breakfast choice is excellent and the food is good then. Lunch is average and evening meal is terrible for both food choice and quality. I am vegetarian and apart from pasta and chips food choice was none existent. There are salads but people very kindly contaminated them with fish and meats which was not the hotels fault but made it tricky to work out what you could eat. My partner eats meat and fish and regularly had uncooked meats that were inedible. Quite disappointing. We opted to eat out one night in the lovely marina and wish we could have done that every night. Remember to take a pool towel as they are not provided.
Firstly, I'll start off by saying that this hotel is just fantastic. Coming back from a week's break between 23rd Sept - 30th Sept, there's no denying that as a resort, they get absolutely everything right - or they certainly did that week! The time of year we went suggested that things were dying down slightly, but make no mistake that there was still tons of lively events, people and plenty of 23-25 degree heat that was just perfect for tanning yourself without the crazy heat associated with the more exotic countries out there. Having only visited one "all inclusive" resort in my time (Mexico in 2015), the suggestion that "all inclusive" was not as good in European venues is something I found untrue. The menu on offer included unlimited everything from local branded Baileys, to Sambuca, to Smirnoff (the real stuff), beers and wines, cocktails (some made fresh from the bottles, others made up in a behind-the-bar machine) and all were in generous supply and served however you liked (neat or otherwise). Even when ordering a regular Diet Coke, the charming bar staff joked at adding whiskey to it at 10am in the morning (such a lively bunch!) The option to pay extra for a Gold wrist band gave you exclusivity to the branded drinks but I dare say that the included Blue band should be ideal for most. The guests at the Sol Falco appeared to be a wonderful mix of down to earth, respectful folk ranging from small families, mid-aged couples, and older generations, all of whom where friendly, sensible (not drunkard idiots) and respected the facilities wonderfully. I'm not one to socialise much but when we did, it was always an interesting gossip (usually praising the hotel and island in general). The Holiday Village across the road was mega loud from the street and was definitely the more "common" of the hotels in Cala N' Bosch. As for facilities, everything is spotless, modern (especially the rooms with fabulous mood lighting) and reliable wifi (free and works everywhere!), food choice and reception staff ready to resolve any issues. A couple of plug sockets blew when we were charging our gadgets (I dare say probably self inflicted) and within a short time of asking reception for help, the plugs were not only fixed, but also a new fridge installed which was strange, but welcome. Food choice was tremendous with a new selection every day, ranging from all meat types (not just Mediterranean fish based food!), and was always of a suitable temperature (please disregard previous reviews referring to cold food). The one time food was cold(ish) was in the snack bar that is there to accommodate people all day. But this is more there to cater for the peckish guests in bite sized quantity, unlike the main restaurant that was always amazing! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the chocolate do-nuts! No lie, Krispy Kreme can't compete! Entertainment at night was cute, if not necessarily west end standard. Most shows involved miming to the words (from the entertainment team) but they really try and should be praised for their efforts as it's the same team who entertain throughout the day and are full of beans all the time. Wonderful staff overall and should not be knocked. If I had any complaints (and I promise there are hardly any!) it would be that the pools are REALLY cold! Not heated in anyway, the ten minutes it takes to finally climb in is marred by the consistent temperature drop you have if you don't do 20 laps when you get in. Certainly the Caribbean hotels seem to have this wrapped up better, however, visually Sol Falco's amazing pools are spotless, and cosy (private and public pools), with no challenge for sun beds at all! (WHY CAN'T ALL HOTELS BE LIKE SOL FALCO!) The town of Cala N' Bosch is a ten minute walk (along the main road right outside the hotel) and is just lovely. Again, lovely mix of "non-chavvy" bars and restaurants with enough "Britishness" to appeal to most. There is a bus service to Ciutadella (bus stop right outside the hotel) but we resulted in taking a taxi (15 Euros) instead as 3 buses passed without stopping as they were all full! Reception were great in arranging this, but it was annoying (albeit quicker), having to pay 3 times the price. Sol Falco, Cala N' Bosch and Menorca overall are simply amazing! Please have all the faith in the world that you will have an amazing time. The hotel has it's priorities 100% right and nailed that sweet spot that avoids the Benidorm Crew and the Super Posh rich folk who expect nothing but the Hilton everywhere they go. We loved it (party of 4 - 35yo couple and 65yo couple) and we believe you will too.
4 of us stayed for a week in September. Food = really good (except for omelettes at brekkie-not cooked properly, and the egg/omelette man was really miserable and slapped my egg on my plate when I asked for it flipped over). Restaurant = busy/loud but always found a table - one of the waiters ran into me with the hostess trolley and bruised my leg - no apology. Rooms = modern, however if they put a socket and a light near the mirror, it would be much easier. Why are the rooms so dark in the evenings when trying to get ready? Housekeeping = failed to clear our empty glasses for 3 days from room! They also do not clean under the beds! This could be improved. Staff = some were lovely/some looked miserable. Get another job if you don't like yours! Pools = Very refreshing!!!!! (You may need a few free drinks before you go in). Take your own beach towels, unless you don't mind paying for one. $1 Euro per day+$15 Euro returnable deposit. Gym = some equipment broken. This could be improved. Enjoyed the aqua fit and cardio box. The guy that does it is BRILL....can't remember his name....made it so much fun...thank you. Beach near the Marina is beautiful...sea is warmer than the pools... Overall, we all enjoyed our stay, however, we felt a little bit 2nd class rated as we were English. It did appear that the Spanish people were looked after better than the minority of English people.
