Mendocino Stay

This is the perfect getaway place, right on the Mendocino Art Center campus with gardens around. The space is a good size, nicely furnished, and check-in and check-out are as easy as could be.

We liked that it was an easy walk to local market and the beauty of the ocean. We did not like the heater which is very old, the bed is a little on the old side and squeaks when you laid down on it. The bathroom drainage cover was sort of dangerous to step on because on one end the lips was bent. Not sure the price for it was really worth it.

Gorgeous and rewarding!

When booking I didn't realize this space was situated within the Mendocino Art Center. Hence the "rewarding" experience. My husband and I loved being in the energies of creative processes. If it sounds busy, might be loud (?), it only felt alive, even in the silence of the days when we were the only people on the grounds. We came for nature and food, but were gifted so much more. Additionally, we ended up staying in Unit 6, a very spacious apartment with enormous windows in every room opening to views of the ocean, headlands and sky! The apartment was super clean, very comfortable and tasteful. And our host, Daphne, was generous, attentive and kind. She gave us all kinds of detailed tips for hikes and restaurants. All of them worthy! If you're not needing a silent, private retreat 100% of the time, this is a GREAT place to stay to relax and take in the magic of Mendocino. We would love to return.

Beautiful location half mile from the ocean. The gardens are spectacular. No need to drive anywhere unless you want to! Definitely will stay again.
