It was my worst stay i have ever had in Melbourne. Oaks ruined our trip which was dreadful. They gave the room i booked to someone else and gave us a disgusting room. I booked a room with 1 bed in it instead we got a room that they jammed 2 beds in making it too restricted. The bathroom was no bigger than a cupboard. Shower was unsafe drain rocked back and forth under your feet which made it very unsafe. The water pressure was so low it was disgraceful. There was a sign in bathroom that said to hang towels on towel rack there was no rail you could see signs of where it had originally been fitted to the wall just above small basin. Also the water in the toilet ran fully for the full time we were there and was so loud. Went to put our valuables in the safe and it didnt work. Then we went to look at the pool for a swim and it was empty and closed. We were so upset when we told the front desk about it that he showed no sign of giving a damn. We asked to cancel another night we were going to stay on the 30th before flying home on 31st Once we checked out and my partner went to collect car from secure parking and we were half way to our trip to Albury we realised we were charged an additional $180 for parking when i had already been charged for parking when we checked in. We want the $180 refunded and a partial refund for our stay which is only fair i believe. I would never recommend the Oaks to anyone or stay there ever again. I am also waiting for my full refund for the 30th

in the middle of everything that was required. Friendly staff. Rooms were very spacious though was a little surprised at the smallness of the toilet shower area. Saying that was very happy with the accommodation and would stay there again if required. About same time next year.

Location is very convenient to Southern Cross Station and tram stops, food and shopping. The room we had (rooftop) had an awesome view and was a good size. The layout leaved a little to be desired, with the bed squashed into a spot that allowed for only one bedside table and the other side right up against the wardrobe. The bathroom really needs updating, as it's basically just a small room with only a shower curtain on a track separating the shower from the toilet and sink (which has no counter space) the thin metal medicine cabinet is located above the toilet. The room has potential to have a lot more wow factor if a little more effort is put into it.

Convenient lication. One tram stop from Southern Cross Station. Staff at reception very pleasant. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet though shower/bathroom quite odd. Room was adequate size for two but would be ideal for travellers who need a longer stay for work etc. Kitchen also well equipped if you choose to cook. Good size fridge also. There is an IGA next door which is handy.

Hated staying at this Oaks. The fire alarm was activated two nights in a row at 6:30AM and 4:30AM which traumatized my 9 year old child to the point that I had to book early flight to bring her back home and paid $750. She has having nightmares now due to that shock. We had to evacuate 12 levels by stairs on both nights. When tried to ask the staff member in the morning, she got angry, agitated and grumpy for being asked about the evacuation! We were staying in 2 queen bed apartment and one of the rooms had no window at all as well as no aircon. The swimming pool wasn't accessible either. Overall had a terrible time at this hotel. NEVER EVER going back there!
