This place may be centrally located in Melbourne but i would stay elsewhere. Pay a stupid amount of momey for a family room. No lift to room have to walk. Room wasnt very clean. Pillow cases had stains old soap still in shower and left over noodle crumbs from previous tenant. Biggest issue was the window could not be closed completely and kept hanging all night long.
This hotel is reasonable close to Southern Cross Station. The room was neat & clean. Not much traffic noise. The bed was comfortable & the water was hot.The only downsize was the lack of a lift. I found the reception staff friendly & easy to get on with.Overall, I found this hotel to be good value for money & would stay there again.
The room was clean, the staff were friendly, not too far from Spencer street Station and most attractions. Didn't have breakfast but was available for a cheap price. Bag drop was handy so you could still explore the area until check in time at 2pm There are stairs to go up to your room
I have stayed in many hotels an motels and this one rates amongst the lowest. The parking was exceedingly restricted, would not fit a large car and access to half of the parking was blocked by a car which had parked as best as it could; however, still blocked the driveway. The staff were unprofessional and unfriendly. No lift, cobblestone floors so you heard all the bags being wheeled through, ashtrays and smoking people adjacent to the rooms with the smoke wafting into our room. The room was barely clean with a tampon on the bedroom floor, blanket shoved in the cupboard rather than folded, no milk, no power outlet in the bedroom, paper thin walls so you could hear the swearing and talking from next door until 2 am in the morning, noising air-conditioning unit next door, fire-station adjacent with call outs during the night, train line trains hear numerous times during the night, no shelf in the shower and the TV remote control did not work.
Attended a business conference at the Flagstaff City Inn. I was advised the night before, as I had rung to specifically enquire, that parking was available. Arrived for conference early next morning and was told in no uncertain terms parking was not available. The owner was yelling, was absolutely rude, threatening and was banging his fists on the counter telling me there was not any parking, when I had been told the opposite. I was absolutely flawed at his response to the subject and how he went about dealing with it. I would never want to step foot into this place again.
This motel is rated 3 stars but if you're looking for a bed, bathroom and somewhere to make breakfast this is very comfortable and very clean. The room is serviced daily or you can opt for it not to be. The bathroom is clean and has plenty of room to move but shares the toilet as well. It stocks hair dryer, tissues, shampoo conditioner extra towels face washer. There is a fee if you leave make up on towels etc after washing. There is cobble stone path way leading to the rooms which can be noisey at night time when you're trying to sleep if someone new is coming in to their room wheeling bags and luggage across the cobble stones. I've stayed here many times and this has only happened to me once! There is air con and heating, it's old style and can be noisey. Not good to leave it on over night as the noise can keep you awake. There is a bar to have a drink at although I feel like I'm in the way if I use the bar so find it better to grab a drink and take back to my room. This motel is close to Witches in Britches, Queen Vic Market, Southern Cross station is a short walk along with the CBD. Bus stop is on the corner (a 1minute walk) to catch a tram is a short walk away. Close to anything in East Melb. 90% of my stays here have been very satisfactory and like I said before, I will definitely be staying here again. The customer service is top notch. The people working at the motel are very friendly and very helpful.
We were here for 4 nights. Halfway through the stay the room below us had an electrical fire and our room started to fill with smoke. Luckily we had just woken from a nap and smelt the smoke and saw it coming out of the walls in the bathroom and kitchen. No fire or smoke alarms were going off to notify anyone it was happening. They refunded the last 2 nights after offering us the room next door while there was smoke still pouring out of the room below. They just did not know how to handle the emergency situation. The manager also told me not to call the fire department while I was in the phone to 000. I’m assuming to save the call out fee from the fire department or he was worried about the laundry sitting in stairwells which are fire exits. I ignored and the fire department still arrived anyway which was a good. If we’d still been asleep when the smoke started filling the room we might not be here to write this review. AVOID this death trap at all costs!
Our room had stained chairs, filthy bench top in bathroom, blood stains in the wardrobe, cutlery was bent, face washers were stained. We ended up leaving. This is NOT a three and a half star hotel. Room 102 - putrid, sub-standard. Absolutely filthy.
Budget accommodation close to Spencer St railway. Room was tidy with basic facilities. Staff were pleasant and gave directions to local attractions. Would stay again for 1 night stop over for a single person.
Clean and neat rooms, very basic, no elevators and a bit of a multi level rabbit warren to get around. Met our needs for one night. Dont rely on being able to park your car in the car park, we arrived 2hours before check in started and the car park was already full!!
