Beautifully presented. We had some issues with our spa bath though, which was the main reason we went with the room we did.

I had a lovely stay at Chateau Yering Hotel. A warm welcome from Annie at Reception, a spotless and lovely room, very friendly and helpful house-keeping staff, and Jennifer in the Sweetwater Cafe makes an excellent coffee. I think Eleonore's Restaurant is at present only open for dinner on Wednesday evenings but plenty of restaurants not far away in Lilydale, and Yarra Glen township is only about 5 minutes from Chateau Yering. For lunch there is the Yering Station restaurant right next door to Chateau Yering. Highly recommended.

Dirty bath, broken phone, tiny tv, wine glass in room cracked, most of the staff not very friendly. Place is looking tired including gardens. Requested our room to be serviced every day but that didnt happen. Very disappointed NOT a 5 star hotel! Don’t waste your money. Definitely will not go back or recommend to family and friends.

On arrival, as reception closed, there was no guidance as to where to find the room key. Luckily, akitchen staff member was there to help. Bedroom suite needs attention. Old fashioned furniture and historic decor does not guarantee 5 star status. Hotel standard actually shy of 4 star status. Vineyard irrelevant to quality of stay. Curtains jammed and not fixed despite 2 requests. Noise of fridge motor amplified by the stylish wooden cupboard in which it was placed. It woke us up every time the motor cut in at night. Numerous lage spiders and webs in hallway, bathroom and bedroom on arrival. I removed them and glad to see that the big ones were non poisonous huntsman spiders. TV screen too small and was fitted in the same cupboard as the fridge. Cockroach or similar beetle kept re-entering room through french windows. Wifi hopeless forcing me to exit the building to deal with important emails - luckily it didn't rain. The only positive aspect that stopped me giving an overall lower score was the warmth and friendliness of the reception and dinning room staff. Melinda and Tash were especially attentive in the dining room and the kitchen staff are to be praised for the taste and quality of the meals. It is a pity the rest of the stay did not match up to the dining room experience.

Lovely historic manor.

This is such a lovely and unique property. Our room overlooked a green pasture full of grazing cattle and morning kangaroos. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The winery next door was a nice bonus.
