Our room was like a mini-apartment. Great for a short stay and would have been even better for a longer stay. Free breakfast. The neighborhood was quiet. But, great coffee shops and restaurants were within walking distance. The room, bed and pillows were all very comfortable. The staff was excellent and provided amazing service with one exception. My only complaint is that the hotel charged us for a night that we weren't able to use because our flight from Bogota was cancelled.
We stayed here five nights and found it perfect for our needs. It’s located on a quiet street in Patio Bonito, an easy walk to El Poblado/Parque Lleras and Manila with a few nice cafes on the same block. We stayed with our three year old and the staff were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious!
It was a beautiful apartment hotel. Well-equipped. Microwave mini kitchen wrath and favorite Colombian coffee maker. Rooms are fabulous there’s a nice pool on the roof top with the Gym. Same level is located the washing machine and dryer for guests to use. Management makes sure that the guests are comfortable and treated special. Breakfast is great staff is very considerate of your needs. Location is perfect in Poblado because it’s quiet and within nine minutes walk to the train station. Walking distance to the party area of Poblado in 14 minutes. Yes you are staying in the quiet side off this place. This is considered one of the safest place to stay in Medellin .. BUT The downside to this is that is there less police visibility. And the thieves now start to victimize unsuspecting tourists in this quiet part of town. The location of the hotel is well lit but the surrounding streets are dark and empty at night since it is in the residential area. I would’ve rated SITES five stars if not for the downside of this event. It was a seven minute walk from EXITO supermarket back to the hotel. Two short blocks or 1 minute away from the hotel (by the River) a tall man in black hooded sweatshirt held my neck and grabbed my cell phone which I used as my navigational system to go back . Then left.. I yelled but nobody was around. minutes earlier I saw him in a bicycle- made a UTurn and hid in the direction I was walking. I feel very fortunate that he only took my cell phone. He could have knocked me on the ground and get all my handbag backpack, watch and wallet. My advice is the tourists in this area is Bring a pepper spray or on the electronic gadget to protect yourself. Do not walk here in the dark. If you do make sure you are with the companion. I asked for help as I reached my hotel but the police came after 30 minutes with no follow-up or updates. The hotel may consider telling the local government to install more light in this area. plus warn their guests walking to the EXITO Supermarket at night.
This place is located at El Poblado, there are restaurants and shopping malls nearby. Clean and big rooms (look like apartments) , great decoration. Breakfast is great. Staff is very kind, i'd definitely return. (ask in the front desk for tours to Guatapé, they'll contact you with a tour agency, you'll love it)
Stayed for 5 nights as a tourist - found the hotel to be perfect for us. Unusually large, comfortable and very well equipped room (iron, ironing board) and first class beds & bed linen. The laundry was very welcome (washing machines, dryers & hand wash sinks) as we have been travelling for a couple of weeks already. Rooms are quiet and away from busy roads, but have restaurants/cafes close by - metro is a 10 minute pleasant, safe walk. Breakfast is very good and they keep the buffet well stocked. Highly recommended.
Ideal place to stay while in Medellin. Found it very clean and spacious for the price. Great free breakfast and very friendly staff. Close to bars and metro but on a quiet street. Beautiful rooftop terrace with jacuzzi. Ideal place to enjoy a drink and watch sunset over the city.
Loved this hotel, especially for the price you can’t go wrong! Room was spacious, great view and clean. Rooftop jacuzzi was where we would relax before dinners. Staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast buffet was a delicious extra.
Im writing this review mainly cause of many breakfast related negative reviews. The hotel was great so was the breakfast, however we were always early so possibly if you come at 10am you wont get a full range of food. Breakfastwise If Mariott is 5/5, this one is 4/5
To start, the check in process was a bit cumbersome….way too many documents to sign just to stay in a below average hotel. Most of the employees seemed somewhat cordial, but not all as I will describe later. The hotel is misrepresented by the online photos. Make no mistake, it is a run-down hotel. The pool area is old, small, and will be crowded with more than 4 people present….thus not allowing room for many guests. The hallways are under renovation with spackle all over the walls, not a word was mentioned about this online. There is only one elevator, so it is annoying waiting on the cleaning staff and employees who also use the same elevator. Upon entering the 1 apartment room I reserved, it APPEARED okay….nothing special, but sufficient and clean. The room had a strong smell of bleach and mold….I had to open the balcony door to remedy this. The whole registering your guest process is a total scam. Also, a BLOOD STAIN (that is correct blood), was discovered upon arrival on my sheets (see photos attached) this was the first strike against the hotel. Second strike: I had a room reserved for two guests; the front desk staff actually charged me an additional $52 dollars for my guest when we returned to the hotel from dinner (even though my reservation was for 2 guests). The clueless front desk boy working that night (Tony), was an absolute embarrassment and clearly demonstrated the total lack of customer service training for this company. Tony told me that I had to pay ($150 mil/$52 dollars additional) at that moment or neither myself or my guest would be allowed to enter my room (which I had already paid). I then told Tony that I would pay upon my exit the following day after I spoke with a Manager. Tony stated HE WAS the Manager and that was not acceptable. Third Strike: (This was a total LIE of course; the manager’s name given to me the following day during checkout was Catalina Palacio- who of course was not present at the hotel-they never are when there are problems). MS Palacio, your front-desk employee “Tony” needs to be properly trained in customer service or either moved to another position such as housekeeping at the hotel (where he is kept far away from your guests). He has no clue how to communicate with guests, moreless be a manager of anything. I honestly cannot emphasize enough what a TOTAL SCAM this hotel is regarding guests. I never received any contact from management, so DON’T bother to post your ridiculous response to my review now. (I also am a fluent speaker in English and Spanish, so do not try to blame this issue on a communication barrier). It is a total embarrassment that this hotel has the TRIPADVISOR logo on the front door of this hotel. I have stayed at many hotels in the Medellin area; I must say with 100% honesty, this is hands down the WORST ever. I will never return to this hotel again. If you are a foreign tourist, please do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. This hotel apparently thrives on dishonesty, discrimination, and the exploitation of foreign guests/tourists.
Large room with a great view, modern style, very clean, and comfortable with A/C in a great neighborhood – everything one could want in a hotel for a very reasonable price! Room has a little kitchenette and an amazing shower head! Hotel comes with a good breakfast. Nice view from the rooftop pool/Jacuzzi. Courteous, helpful, and pleasant staff. Walking distance to everything in popular Poblado neighborhood. We stayed for 3 nights on the 10th floor with a room facing the mountain side view. We had a great experience at Sites Hotel!
