The historical Highland Guesthouse built in 1855 by PA Historian Samuel Bates is located in Meadville, PA adjacent to Allegheny College; here it boasts 1 inviting bedroom with a cozy queen bed on the far end side of the house with 1st floor entry at the end of our 50 foot front porch. The enchanting ambiance of the property is perfect for guests looking for a soothing retreat and providing guests from all over the world a home away from home. With amenities like High Speed WiFi, Cable, kitchen appliances, self serve continental breakfast, mini fridge in room, heaters, AC, hair dryers, and all other necessities, your stay will be comfortable and convenient. We are a 5 minute drive to the Meadville ER and Medical Center, the Crawford County Courthouse and all of downtown Meadville shops and entertainment. Plenty of free parking at the B & B, also there are 5 other bedrooms upstairs in the house separate completely from this room but these guests have access to the kitchen as well. You can visit with other guests or have your own privacy it’s totally your choosing if you’d like to enjoy the common areas or not. The parlor is filled with history as a 6-term Congress man Arthur Bates the son of Samuel grew up in the house and his good friend President Taft stayed in our house one night in 1912. There is also a large back deck to enjoy whenever it’s nice outside it’s the perfect spot to kick back and relax! This is our most popular room and can be reserved may months in advance.
