We enjoyed the house very much with one exception. The internet was terrible and we weren't able to enjoy TV at all. This was especially disappointing for my husband who loves sports and ended up going out a few nights to the Grill so he could watch football. Otherwise, the house was fun and in good condition.

Overall had an enjoyable time. Quite surroundings with plenty of sunshine shining in on sunny days. For elderly/mobility challenged individuals, there was no railing for the steps to the bottom deck, no walk in showerOn the main floor bedroom. Fireplace wouldn’t stay lit. And had some difficulty working the little knob to open the key lock box.Lots of activities other than skiing were available.

Highland Chalet was the perfect weekend getaway spot for me and my friends to celebrate our high school reunion. The host Kevin was in constant communication with us and gave easy to follow check-in and checkout instructions. The property itself is great for a large group of friends. We had 8 total guests and enough beds for everyone. We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen, and hanging out in the basement playing pool. The hot tub was a great feature and we enjoyed relaxing in it after several strenuous hikes. Speaking of which, there are several close by, in addition to tons of other activities, like mini golf, at the the resort which we took part in.We definitely enjoyed Highland Chalet and would stay again!

The area and property were beautiful. Lots to do. That being said the property owner did not tell us the hot tub was gone and it was still posted in the listing. The property was very dusty and has not been taken care of like it should be. The blackstone is rusty. The TV remotes have no batteries. I messaged the property owner multiple times during our stay with questions and he did not respond to us 1 time during our 5 day stay. Many of the amenities listed as available in the resort you have to pay separately for which is not a big deal, but the property manual says it’s included. There is also a fireplace on the listing and this is not an outside fire place to gather with family it is a gas fireplace in the basement. For the price you could find better options especially within the resort.

Family Vacation

The space was perfect for our entire family, 8 adults and 3 children. When we arrived we noted that there were some small issues such as ripped curtains, damaged blinds, damage to the refrigerator and one of the chairs was damaged as well. There were 2 coffee makers, but the carafes were missing, so we had to purchase a coffee maker. The biggest disappointment was that the hot tub had been removed because it was not operational. Be advised that there are additional charges for use of the facilities in the development including the pool. The view was lovely and the proximity to the National Park and several wineries and brewery's made everything convenient. Overall the house met our needs and we had a wonderful time.

Lovely home in Massanutten Resort

We had a wonderful stay. Home was beautiful, very clean. It was well stocked in the kitchen with everything needed to cook at home. Perfect location and quiet as well. Close to everything in the resort. Would stay here again. Thanks for sharing your home. The pool table was great fun for the adults!!!

Very relaxing

We stayed for a long weekend and it was just what we all needed. Our oldest is graduating high school and it was perfect to spend that time with him as a whole family. The home had everything we needed. We made meals and wanted for nothing. The area has more than enough to do as well. Definitely recommend to any family needed to unplug

Gorgeous mountain cabin!

We absolutely loved our long weekend in Massanutten. The property was beautiful and overlooked the mountains, and the communications with the property owner was fantastic! The hot tub really was a highlight. It’s also very close to the ski resort, really only a 5 minute drive. We highly recommend staying here, especially if you have a larger group.

Wonderful house and location - terrible response from owner regarding issues

Our family (7 AD, 4 CH) stayed for 3 nights. The house was big enough to house all of us comfortably. Meals were a little hectic due to the size of the table. The kitchen refrigerator has broken drawers and door shelves, leaving it sketchy to store food. The appliances were dusty, the table was disgusting - wash cloth was black when wiped, my daughter's bed had grouse stuff on the comforter, the island light is coming out of the ceiling. My husband fixed the hand towel holder in the main hall bath bc if kept falling off the wall. The snow was shoveled halfway to the back deck where the hot tub is. My son and grandson had to finish shoveling the rest and cleaned off the hot tub in order for us to use is. Three (3) separate emails were sent to the property manager between Saturday and Sunday. As of today, Wednesday evening, I have still not received a response to any of them! They were quick to respond to an expired cc for final payment, charging my card for the security deposit and sending exiting procedures on Sunday! We would not stay here again, unfortunately. VRBO does not allow pictures for reviews! Snow tubing was awesome! Campfire Grill is not worth the money!
