We had transportation problems and didn't arrive at the hotel until almost 2 a.m. The desk clerk stayed open for us! The room, despite our late arrival, was beautiful. Not large, but with a balcony overlooking the Old Port. If we return to Marseilles, it will be to this hotel.
Very pleased to have a balcony. It was unexpected. Decor a little dated (nothing matched). Curtains were stained. Worrying that there was no safe in the room, especially as the door looks like it has been forced open in the past. Staff wonderful.
The location is very nice & convenient. The Hop-On Hop-Off buses start from just down the street, a couple of minutes away. There are plenty of shops & restaurants in the area. Our room was "Deluxe Room Prestige Sea View" with a balcony which afforded a fantastic view of the Old Port. The room was large & clean with a good layout. However, the some of the furnishings are in serious need of replacement and/or refurbishment. See the hole in the chair upholstery in the attached picture. The staff were very helpful. Fairly good value for money.
This was a well located hotel right on the port. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room had a balcony which caught the evening sun. We were able to sit and watch the buskers and tourists below. Only issue was with the wifi which kept dropping off. Relatively minor inconvenience.
This is a friendly smaller hotel and it is right on the Port, views from our room overlooking it were stunning. Beds were comfortable, breakfast plentiful, and staff friendly and helpful. The is a restaurant which we didn't try, apparently it is very good, with an up-and-coming chef. Definitely stay here rather than at a chain hotel, and get the full flavor of the Vieux Port, with the flower market outside your door and the (dwindling) fishing fleet arriving dockside around 9.
This hotel is a great option for your visit to Marseille. It's in a great location - located right on the port and within walking distance of lots of great restaurants, cafes and bars. The staff are brilliant and can't do enough for you. The only con I can think of is that the wifi isn't that quick and you need to keep logging in every few minutes.
This hotel perhaps has the best location. One can watch the ferris wheel, the hustle and bustle of the Viuex Port, Notre Dam church from the balcony of the hotel room. The rooms are tastefully done. A warm and friendly front desk who ensure the guest feels completely at home. We were traveling by car and were ensure if the car could be stopped in front of the hotel for a few minutes for unloading our bags. Thankfully the parking slot was empty. What surprised me even more is that the hotel asked if we needed help with our bags (a first i must say in all my trips to Europe). They even kept a ticket ready for us in the nearest parking. Loved the place. Though i wish two things were better - wifi connectivity, the signal seemed to drop from time to time and the breakfast at euro 18 per person seemed steep.
First of all, I have no complaints about the staff or the room. The staff is pleasant and helpful--perhaps with the exception of the breakfast room attendant who hardly said a word, never smiled and never cleared any dishes from my table after I had finished using them. The breakfast is perfectly adequate. My bed was large and comfortable. I had a balcony with a nice view of the port. Cleaning was fine. The furniture has an artistic retro feel. Electrical outlets are scarce but the television is a large flat screen with a fairly large number of channels. The bathroom is large with both shower and tub and two sinks. So are there negatives? For nearly 300 euros, it would be nice to have a swimming pool and lounge area. I also would like to see shuttle service to the airport. In a perfect world, a rooftop restaurant/bar would be wonderful--especially considering the great view of the port. Lastly, it's necessary to keep signing in for the wi-fi if you put your phone down for a while. With everything being considered, I still recommend this property.
The rooms are huge! The biggest I have seen in Europe. We had a queen size bed. We also had a beautiful view of the port we were on the second floor. The check in was effortless and there was much assistance provided to us. We wanted to go watch a local Marseille soccer game. Great customer service. We had a glass of wine overlooking the vieux Porte at night. Definitely would stay there again.
Excellent location - incredible views overlooking the harbor and the city center - very nicely restored and comfortable rooms, most of them with a balcony - very yummy in-house restaurant, which offers a mix of new and recreated classical dishes - in my opinion likely the best hotel in Marseille, particularly for the reasonable price. Highly recommended...
