The service was good. It was a mini holiday that me and my partner needed. Mehdi answered all my questions prior to our arrival. He also arranged for our airport pick-up even when we only decided last minute. He makes sure guests are comfortable with their stay as much as possible. Staff are hospitable and try their best to meet guest needs. My partner was not well so whenever we ask for hot water so he can drink lemsip the kitchen staff would deliver hot water to our room. I'm heavily pregnant and needed extra pillow to sleep comfortably, mehdi sorted it out even though he was already signing out on the way home.
Can’t rave enough about the quietness and serenity of the villa. Staff are discreet and friendly. Management provide genuine and non biased info as where to go out and dine (although) they have a restaurant in the villa. The couple of times we ate dinner at the villa was superb and reasonably priced. The breakfast was great and you are not rushed to have it by a certain time. City centre was about 15mins away. The hotel arranged for transport so when we out at night (after 9pm) we just had to make one call and we’d be picked up from wherever in the city be it 1:00am or 2:00 am and brought back to the villa. All that only cost around €20. Rooms are spacious, clean, aircon and your own private mini veranda or patio. Will definitely go back again
Villa Al Assala offers a warm welcome, particularly Mustapha and Fathia, who are happy to meet your every need with a smile. The Villa is private gated and situated in Palmeraie, opposite one of the Kings 3 Palaces in Marrakech. It is off the beaten track and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Medina square but just a 4 drs bus ride away if you want to experience the local transport. There is also a superb taxi service attached to the villa, the drivers are extremely knowledgable and helpful and will take you to the City and back, or anywhere else you want to go, for around 250 drs return. The suites, just 10 of them, are comfortable and spacious with a balcony or terrace that over looks luscious gardens. Every morning the sun loungers around the pool are prepared for you with towels and sun hats. There is a resident cat, Bernard, who likes to lay with you and paw you and purr, perfect if you miss your own fur babies! The menu is a little limited but there are two fab service stations nearby who serve amazing food at very reasonable prices. If you leave the villa and head left along the main road you can find a Baraka station which houses a huge restaurant who serve traditional Tagines and have a butcher and grill so you can choose whatever meat you like and have it cooked with any accompaniment. If you leave the villa and head right, you'll find the afrique services, Jerman is great, has a lovely smiley face and speaks a good few languages. The chicken sandwich and tagine are highly recommended here. It's comfortable, quiet, relaxing and gives you no option but to chill, definitely worth a visit!
A wonderfully peaceful spot away from the ever lively Marakech. This small hotel is a perfect retreat with attentive and charming staff, beautiful grounds and a really relaxed vibe. I wouldn't recommend Marakech for small families, but for teenagers and adults, its a great place to visit, and relax. The souks and palaces are quite an experience, and a trip to the Atlas Mountains is highly recommended.
We enjoyed our week at Villa al Assala Palmeraie – our room was comfortable and well-equipped, the breakfast was very generous, and the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The property is well maintained and it was nice to be outside the hustle and bustle of the city in lush green surroundings. However, there are a few aspects that we felt affected our visit. Firstly, there seemed to be building work going on in the adjoining property throughout the week – we could hear what sounded like a cement mixer very clearly from the pool area and our room. This was quite disruptive, as it disturbed what was otherwise a very tranquil area, and we were surprised that the management hadn’t advised us of this prior to our arrival. Secondly, we were surprised by the price charged for a return taxi trip into the centre of the city (which we found necessary given that the villa is just over an hour’s walk from the medina) and consequently arranged our own transport, available at a third of the price. Had we not discovered the other options, we would have felt a little trapped as we were not prepared to spend EUR 30 on transport every day. Future visitors may also like to know that it is prohibited to bring bottled water in from outside the villa, and the water onsite is quite expensive. Despite the above, we had a relaxing trip, and are grateful to the team for their hospitality.
I had a very nice stay at the Al Assala! The location was perfect, a little outside the hectic Medina but not too far away to explore the city. The Hotel is very well managed, clean and has a beautiful pool and garden.
Staff at this hotel were amazing attentive from the moment you arrive This is a perfect peaceful out of town retreat . Superb for relaxing and unwinding . Nothing was to much trouble and room and hotel were immaculate and clean . I would recommend anyone to stay here . The spa treatment was superb and great value . A small taxi ride and you are right in the heart of the very busy market . Wifi was constant and throughout the hotel
Villa Al Assala provided us with the perfect escape from the lively centre of Marrakech. The villa team were fantastic in providing us with recommendations of restaurants, organising excursions and providing us with transport whenever we needed it. Food was also excellent.
Very beautiful and calm resort. Perfect to relax after a couple of days in the Medina. The staff was always friendly, helpful and professional and the food excellent (especially the grill). The fact that there are only a few rooms makes it possible to enjoy a very individualized experience.
We were 7 doctors who attended conference in Marrakech and stayed in villa Al assala for 6 nights. Villa al assala was the best place to stay after a busy day. The location was perfect away from busy city, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, i cannot thank enough Aissam, Najat and mostafa who were very helpful and kind they did their best to make our stay memorable. The breakfast was delicious with home made Moroccan pancakes. We also had dinner once, where we were served delicious soup and Moroccan chicken tagine. As a Moroccan leaving a broad I felt I am home, my friends who came to Morocco for the first time had a great time. Staying in villa al assala was a great choice. I will definitely come back with my family.
