What an absolute gem of a Riad? We had been quite determined to stay in a Riad in the Medina and we were definitely not disappointed. We arrived very hot and tired having walked up and down the Medina many times as our pick up from the airport obviously had no idea where the Riad was but we suddenly turned down this nothing- looking lane and insignificant door but once the door was opened up to us, what a welcome we received from Joaed( I hope I've spelled that correctly) even though he was busy serving up a meal. What a relief to be sat down and given mint tea and fabulous little biscuits. There is the most beautiful open courtyard set with tables and chairs ( for breakfast and evening meal) , sofas and a delightful pool and plantings. The furnishings are well chosen and the decor throughout suited the Riad. We stayed in the African room and the only slight criticism is that there is not a full length wardrobe in this room but as we were only there for three nights this didn't really matter. The bed was extremely comfortable and although the room itself was a little dark there were plenty of lights available . The products in the shower room were very nice too. How lovely it was to spend the first evening sat outside on the roof terrace with a bottle of wine listening to the sounds of the Medina and the children playing football outside. Once back inside it was all quiet again. As a very light sleeper I have to be honest and say I was kept awake by the noises of children in the adjoining building but my partner certainly didn't hear anything. Having said all these positive things the most important aspect was the staff - only three - who were so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and anything they advised regarding trips etc were spot on. A huge thank you to them for making our stay so special.
We stayed here three nights in May when the weather was almost 40degC. After a hot day in the medina, it was a welcome relief to come back and dangle our feet in the water. The airport pick up and return was efficient. Dinner on arrival was very welcome as we arrived late. The food was delicious. The staff were all super friendly. Despite having visited Marrakech and Morocco many times, we booked a half day city walking tour, which was fantastic, really informative and interesting, without the hard sell usually so ubiquitous here. Learnt loads. The riad is in a good location for the different parts of Marrakech. Breakfast was varied and tasty.
Walk down the alley past the the local vendors baking breads, selling meet and vegetables and after a couple minutes you will find Riad Zayane. Your in Marrakech the sites and the smells awaken your senses. Great location and easy walking distance to some key attractions and souks. Your little oasis. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. Rooms are nicely appointed, themed and very clean with an open courtyard for drinks and breakfast . Our early morning breakfasts were a real treat with staff spoiling us throughout our stay Highly recommend Riad Zayane to travelers, we really enjoyed our stay in Marrakech.
We spent four nights here in April. Paid pick-up from airport was prompt, friendly and helpful; first evening meal upon arrival was delicious welcoming with non-hovering, but attentive service. We walked everywhere from this central location. Staff and owner were professional and welcoming. If we return to Marrakech, we will stay here again. Good value for money.
Within walking distance to major sites. Right in the centre of the bustle of Marrakech. Clean peaceful raid. Lovely to go onto the roof and relax with a beer in the late afternoon. Friendly helpful staff. Always around to help you. Breakfast was more than enough. Will recommend it to family and friends.
We had a wonderful time in Marrakech in March....the staff are friendly and kind, food delicious and the rooms delightful, it was an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the town. We felt as if we had been staying with friends, nothing was too much trouble.
Riad Zayane was a peaceful oasis with the friendliest and most helpful staff. Well placed for the new town, Majorelle Gardens as well as, in the other direction, souks and key locations in the Medina. Characterful rooms, a sunny roof terrace and a welcoming courtyard with plunge pool were all good for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. They do a mean tagine - in fact there is an extensive menu to be booked the day before so you get the freshest ingredients. You can also book transfers, day trips etc. from the Riad.
Stayed for 4 nights in this lovely little oasis. I liked the location as it wasn't too far in from the main gate of Bab Doukkala, past the meat and fruit stalls, most streets aren't labelled so make a note of what's on the corner you need to turn down. Jaouad and Aisha were very welcoming and friendly, I ordered a meal for the first night, which was lovely, as I wasn't arriving until later in the evening and knew it would be too late to go out looking to eat. There isn't anywhere in the immediate area that I could see that would have been suitable (you can get water and nibbles in the little shops). I booked with BA but contacted the Riad to book a taxi to pick me up from the airport that worked really well - it means you get to the Riad without any drama of getting lost as the driver walks you to the door. I also booked a guide for the first day, not something I would normally bother with as I'm happy to wander round myself, but felt (and think I was right) that it took the pressure off try to navigate my way around what is an absolute warren of lanes and roads with push and motorbikes coming at you from all angles - not for the faint hearted!! There is a lovely terrace on the roof with two areas to either lie or sit in the sun. You can also make use of the courtyard area or lounge (where the TV is if you want one). Breakfast was lovely with a slight variation of what you got each day. Would definitely stay here again.
An oasis of calm and serenity in the middle of the madness that is Marrakech. Very helpful staff, wonderful hospitality and food. Nothing is too much trouble, including Jaoued coming out with us on his day off to Ouirgane to be our interpreter. Everything you want and more.
We stayed at the Riad Zayane for 3 nights with 2 friends and had a wonderful break. Lovely friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Beautiful room terrace and rooms. Huge breakfast and good value serenity package. Highly recommend.
