We stayed at Riad Les Oliviers as part of a group tour of Morocco. By far the worst hotel of our trip. As soon as i walked in the front door, i wanted out and begged our tour manager to get us out of this property. The online photos distort the property. The photographer must have used 1000's of watts of lighting. Its dark, gloomy, depressing, dirty., cramped (15 sq. m in bedroom) There were no toiletries supplied and hairdryers available from front desk. no one could work the TVs., rooftop terrace was nice but very cold for morning breakfasts. Dinner was awful- four small chicken drumsticks + two small pieces of white meat for SIX adults. Breakfasts were ok but only continental- bread, crepes, jam. Do not stay here. Its really just a hostel, not a four star property.
Many rooms require repairs to plumbing. Basic supplies were not provided until asked for. Our sheets had holes. Light bulbs were burned out. With a bit of care and some sprucing up, this could be a nice lodging.
After a winding walk through tiny alleys to get here you'd think you'd never get out, but you quickly get the idea on how to get to the palace, which is two minutes away and the main square about ten. This is a really nice place, shower while it has plenty of hot water, it's a bit in need of some repair, just a very minor thing, and the only fault I can find. The staff are excellent, we dealt with Moumen a lot, he even sent a guy to buy our train tickets for the next day, for a small fee. I forgot to give him a tip for all his attention. Anyway an excellent nice old riad that I would go back to any day. They will serve you breakfast and dinner if you want it, plus they have beer too.
We stayed in the suite and it was beautiful, luxurios, and romantic. people, everything was great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the towels were torn and the shower was very difficult to regulate to get hot water
Best Riad in Marrakech! From the minute we turned up the staff made us feel at home, the Riad its self was amazing! Very clean, tidy and beautiful, the facilities were great! Wifi was constantly fast with no issues, breakfast was the best we'd had in any Riad! The cleaners were always smiling and saying hello. Location was perfect and easy to find. The people who ran the Riad were so great, we took our 6 month old little girl who was constantly getting attention from all the staff. The Riad is very peaceful and quiet at night, during the day the roof terrace had its own very clean swimming pool with deck chairs and tables to eat your breakfast! We went to 4 other places before this Riad and we ended up staying here for 7 days because we felt very safe and relaxed! A++++ will definitely visit again!
First of all the staff always make the place good or bad and the staff here are all excellent- kind, helpful to a fault and efficient. We ate half-board for the week and each meal was different. Many different tagines, couscous etc and breakfast was always a little different -basically continental. The room was small and spotless. The pool was beautiful on the roof with a view over the Atlas Mountains- a little calm after some of the madness in Marrakech. The riad is close to everything but quiet, especially at night. We got good advice on places to visit and how to get there and the staff always seemed to have time to help. I speak reasonable French which helps in Marrakech so I am not sure how good the English spoken there is, which is the same all over the country. If I ever go back, I will stay at the Riad des Oliveres for sure.
Very friendly and helpful people - tried to help in all ways - from the help with the luggage to some guidelines about the city and where to go to in it for the shopping or sightseeing. The food was also very tasty - they cook everything right there, so you just order some time in advance, and that's it. The rooms are different - there are small ones as well as bigger ones, so it'll be your luck to get one of them, but even the smaller ones are nice.
Breakfast was really nice and slightly different each day. The staff cold not have been kinder with excellent english. The roof pool was a nice place to be. The rooms were good EXCEPT we had a scratchy polyester duvet and no top sheet we should have asked for another sheet
We arrived & as promised at the airport a taxi to meet us. A nice young man , the journey took us about 20 min. At the car park the lady from our Riad was waiting to greet us. ( thank goodness as we would never have found it) So we made our way & yes many motor bikes are along your way. Your safe just keep to the side. It's no where near as bad as the reviews on here have said. On reaching our Riad we were greeted with mint tea & the most beautiful biscuits I have ever tasted. They vanished in a second !! We were given information & helped about what ever questions we asked. Wonderful people who spent time with you. It felt very related & not rushed at all. We have arrived in out little home for a week. We love it. So near to everything all the tourist sites. Back & forth you can go & always return to our Riad for a chill out. They have just put a swimming pool on the roof terrace. It is a lovely area & we like to go to the roof terrace most afternoons. Ok it's not a 5 star hotel , so don't come expecting all that you would get at home. However you will get a warm welcome & lovely staff who will help you any way they can. Breakfast is lovely , fresh orange juice ( beautiful) not all like we get at home. Fresh baked bread, pancakes or cake. With jam , honey & cheese. Pots yogurt & as much fresh coffee as you like. No not a big banquet but indeed more than adequate . We brought English tea with us & we can ask anytime for hot water & milk. Nothing is a problem . The beds are clean & our room is cleaned every morning . I have to say they do a good job. What more can you ask for! This is my honest review as I see it. The reason I have written this review is that having been reading some of the reviews on here before I came I was getting a bit worried if it would be ok.
This riad is clean, peaceful, and with delicious food and mint tea. I agree with previous comments that this place truly feels like a home. The location is amazing and very safe. Just a stone's throw away from Bahia Palace (definitely worth the visit) and a great hammam experience (Hammam Ziani). The main square is just 10 mins away. The excursion offered to the Ouzoud falls is also definitely worth the trip. Our stay was made even more magical because of Mbarka, Mahmoud and Mohammad's company, advice and kind words- lovely lovely people. Thank you all!
