This review is intended to provide a transparent view of Riad Amely, particularly for those considering booking based on the photos and descriptions found on sites like Hotels.com. It also addresses the discrepancy between online ratings and the actual guest experience.
Our stay at Riad Amely was a very poor experience that did not live up to the online presentation. Upon arrival, we were shown to a family room that was in a state of disrepair. The room was not clean, the wall plaster was peeling, and the bathroom was in a miserable condition. The toilet was unclean, the shower tray was dirty, the shower head holder was broken, and the sink tap was loose. We immediately raised our concerns, stating that the room looked nothing like the pictures advertised. We were told this was the only family room available and no refund or cancellation would be granted.
After a heated discussion, the staff offered to move us to a smaller room for an additional charge. Since we are a family of four, we could not all fit. Eventually, they agreed to move two single beds into the new room, but this led to new problems.
Key Issues to Be Aware Of:
Misleading Photos: The accommodations do not match the pictures online. The quality of the rooms, particularly the family room we were initially shown, was far below the standard advertised.
