A small and friendly riad (only 8 rooms), room we had (7) was well proportioned, with a balcony, breakfast was nice with flexibility in time you wish to take it and location, we chose the roof terrace for the morning sunrise view over the city. The location is quiet, no cars can come close, so need to wheel your luggage through a few streets (2 mins max walk). About 20 mins walk to main square in Marrakech. Swimming pool a bit small (i.e. a large bath!) but otherwise an excellent place to relax.
Rooms have all that is needed they are clean with bathrooms which have all that you would need during your visit. A warm welcome awaits you with a welcoming drink of tea or coffee. A fire is lit in the evening when the temperature drops.
My partner and I were booked into Riad Alma with a Secret Escapes holiday. What an amazing place. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were so friendly and could not do enough to make our stay pleasant and memorable. From the mint tea on arrival, to fantastic tagine for supper first night, to massage and the list goes on and on. I would highly recommend Riad Alma to anyone travelling to Marrakech. If I go back I will certainly stay again. Thank you!
Lovely Riad situated in the Kasbah area of Marrakesh. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast very nice. Our room (superior suite) was excellent. When we go there it was quite cold so they lit the open fire which was a nice touch. Nice and quiet at nice as it is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Thoroughly recommended and much better to be situated within the City walls to appreciate the real Marrakesh!
Price quality great. Upper class Riad for a good price. Spectacular breakfast. Boutique Hotel in the Médina. Good parking just outside the wall. By foot you can reach all places! Great host Mourad! In Dutch: Bijzondere aanrader!
We stayed at Riad Alma for a week and it was one of the highlights of our holiday. Our room was beautifully decorated with outstanding attention to detail. We had a large terrace overlooking one of the central courtyards which had a pool and it was really nice to just be outside listening to the birds singing while reading a book. Mourad, the Riad manager was extremely helpful. He gave us a map on the first day and explained to us where all the attractions are. He also told us best place to go to exchange currency. He was always available and very helpful whenever we had questions and went out of his way to help us. The three ladies working at the Riad were also very friendly and they served us a delicious breakfast on the terrace and in the courtyard. They also cooked dinner for us as we got there late and served us breakfast early when we had excursions. We were fortunate to meet the owners, Pierre and Samira and like the rest of the Riad Alma team were very hospitable, friendly and helpful. They also invited us to join them and some of their friends for champagne on the terrace. The hotel is an oasis of peace in a residential area compared to the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. It is situated just a 10 minute walk to Jamma Al Fina. And yet as soon as you step in the alley that leads to the Riad you are in a totally different world. We also loved the fact that because it's in a residential area we were mixing with the local people rather than being cut off from the true Marrakech. We would like to thank Mourad, Samira, Pierre and the rest of the Riad Alma team for making our stay in Marrakech one to remember. Look no further and book Riad Alma for your stay in Marrakech. You can't get anything better in terms of service ambience, hospitality and location.
We stayed at the Riad bookending our Moroccian cycling holiday, the position was perfect for exploring the Medina and surrounding attractions, whilst still being in a quiet area Mourad and staff meet our every need - I will be back. John and Stef New Zealand
A lovely Riad with beautiful roof garden. Lots of places to relax in comfort. I had a lovely bedroom, tastefully decorated and lovely on suite. Would definitely stay here again. Easy access to walk around the old town and all it has to offer. We stayed on the eve when Muslims celebrate their New Year, so it was noisy outside in the streets.
We returned to Riad Alma having stayed there early last year, and were not disappointed. Having arranged our pick-up from the airport for us, the welcome at the riad was as warm and relaxed as we remembered, and the team their all very friendly. A different room this stay, but keeping the well maintained and beautifully finished style that multi-national chains wish they could pull off. Breakfast, as before, was excellent too. In short, a great place to stay and I suspect we will return.
We spent three nights at Riad Alma in the occasion of our wedding anniversary. Everything exceeded our expectation. The Riad is beautiful, quiet with a lot of secluded spaces to enjoy a very relaxing atmosphere after exciting days in Marrakech. Flowers and a fresh bottle of wine were unexpectedly offered for our celebration. Food was great and the day we left breakfast was served for us only very early. We couldn't have had a better choice. Thanks to Mourad and good luck to Samira
