We recently stayed at the Les Jardin for my partners birthday. The hotel is everything that is described as with wonderful customer service. The staff made the stay unforgettable for us both. We will be going back..
I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a place, staff are very friendly, the rooms are very clean, it has a pool for those who are looking for the typical hotel but still want that riad feel! There’s a bit for everyone here! I recommend getting a room overlooking the garden, no better way to wake up than with orange trees and birds chirping at your door step. They have a licensed public taxi driver outside the hotel most times, make sure to haggle for the price!
It was the right decision to stay here...step outside right into the heart of Marrakech kasbah life and step back in again to a different world. Lovely staff who were helpful at all times and tolerated my school level French. Good food for breakfast...highlight being "guess the tagine of the day"!! I can only imagine as the patio is fully opened up for summer it would be even more gorgeous. A stroll amongst the oranges , watching the resident tortoises and sparrows flying around rhe lush gardens on the way to a private hammam session couldn't have been lovelier. The room was incredible with our own little roof terrace and the biggest bed to sink into after a day of walking in the bustle of the city. Yes of course it's way more expensive than 'out there on the street' but worth every penny.
Having returned last week after a weeks stay at Les Jardins de la Medina I felt a positive review was in order. It’s location on the edge of the kasbah and just 10 minutes walk from the sook was ideal. It really is a tropical calming wonder when you walk in from the street and the staff are, without exception, welcoming and attentive. They can not do enough for you and the welcome party held every Friday evening with free drinks and nibbles was a nice touch! Whilst it can get busy by the pool and not all loungers are in the sun, I found the roof terrace to be the perfect escape. Quiet and a sun trap! The rooms are spacious and always kept spotless. I would like to have had free tea and coffee in the room considering this is not a cheap place to stay but that is a small criticism. The breakfast was varied enough and filling but I felt the lunch and dinner menus were slightly limited and if we had choose to eat in more often or were staying longer then this may have been a problem. Most days we ate out and there is plenty of choice for this in and around the kasbah. Overall this is a great riad, relaxing, clean and with great facilities. I would definitely consider staying here again if I return to Marrakech.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff are always friendly and helpful. We stayed for 10 nights so had a good opportunity to assess the facilities. Our room was comfortable and clean. We preferred a room which was not on the ground floor as it is more private and we felt safer. The hotel make a big thing at the welcome about choosing an oil to be used in the room. The reality is a little disappointing as the aroma soon disappeared after it was used in the evenings. Better to give some oil for the guests to use themselves. The dining room is impressive and the dinner menu was fine. But we did not feel that it was a ‘five star’ breakfast which was a bit disappointing with a lack of choice. Outside of the hotel in the medina you could get any type of fresh fruit juice which was not expensive. For some reason the hotel could only offer fresh orange juice and we felt that they should offer more choice. My final gripe is about the arrangements for tea and coffee which you could make in your room. Whilst tea bags were available each day the coffee was less forthcoming. Each room has a capsule coffee maker and you get given three ‘free’ coffees (one of which is decaf). If you want more coffee you have to pay about 250 dirhams for each capsule/cup. Even then the machine only makes a very small cup. Considering that most guests only seem to stay for two or three nights I don’t suppose most people care but we were there for longer and a consideration would have been nice. Alternatively the hotel could have provided instant coffee sachets at little cost. Maybe the primarily ‘French’ clientele would disapprove. Anyway we ended making our own coffee at cost! However, I would be happy to recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Marrakech. Coming back to the hotel is bliss after the cacophony and fumes in the medina! It’s a grand place to stay.
We really liked this hotel. It’s in the Kasbah area and about a 15 minute walk from the central souks, making it the perfect location. It felt like a nice retreat after a busy day in the Médina. We enjoyed the breakfast and it was a nice setting for a drink in the evening. The staff was fantastic. Would highly recommend if you want something more than a traditional riad and don’t want to spend a ton of money on one of the big luxury hotels. Les Jardins de la Médina was the perfect balance! Overall wonderful stay.
We have just returned from a few days in Marrakech and feel so lucky we picked Les Jardins de la Medina as our base. So much so we would definitely stay there again and are dreaming of a return visit. It is true that the location is at the edge of the Medina but the Kasbah area is historic and we were happy to head back there every day after exploring further afield. The lush gardens of the hotel, surrounding the pool and filling the inner courtyard make it a perfect place to find a quiet private spot no matter how many people are around. The pool is lovely and our room overlooking it was exactly what we wanted. I was glad to find we had our own private terrace and access to the roof for sunbathing, although the weather for our last 2 days meant we couldn't make the best use of those facilities, but we can't blame the hotel for that. The staff were very welcoming and helpful at all times. When we returned from being caught in the rain one young man made a point of lighting the fire in the bar area and insisting we move to two chairs he placed in front of it so we could dry off as we drank our mint tea. Bless him. Breakfast was gorgeous - so much choice, plentiful and fresh, the coffee was excellent too. In fact the food at the hotel was the best we had the whole time we were in Marrakech - we may book half or full board next time we go! We decided to have one last lunch just before leaving for our plane home and the monkfish kebab and Paris Brest desert were absolutely delicious. The beauty of Marrakech is that you have no idea what is hidden behind any high wall or ornate door and I am sure there are many, many delightful places tucked out of sight across the Medina but I got a real thrill everytime we stepped from the street into the welcoming reception of Les Jardins de la Medina and then through into the tropical oasis courtyard beyond. Looking forward to my next visit already.
Large property with a gift shop at front entrance. In my opinion an average property without any of the "wow" of some riad's. Service: We made a request to Hannan and she, without checking or any concern for customer satisfaction simply said NO. In my opinion not good customer service. Room: Very average small room. Lots of noise transfer. Poor lighting. Wifi sometimes difficult to connect. Summary: I would not recommend. In my opinion there are other better choices that offer more authentic settings and rooms and much better customer care.
As mentioned in subject. Sleep was poor because of relentless noise from guests and staff, the windows are single glasing and not appropriate for a “supposedly high class hotel”. The location was ok but the area wasn’t the nicest. The services and food was very overpriced considering that they were average by any standards. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel considering the price you pay. I’m disappointed to say.
This is our second time at this riad, and it didn't disappoint. The room (Superior) was huge and distincively decorated, the building is cool and gracious, and the gardens a delight, as the plants and palms create a lush surrounding to the pool. The restaurant is excellent, and the staff unfailingly polite and attentive. We visited a better known (and more expensive) hotel to see the gardens. and vastly preferred our own!
