We spent a week at Christmas at La Maison des Oliviers and loved the hotel. We had booked a suite and on arrival were upgraded to an Ambassador Suite with a private garden and semi-private pool (unheated). The room was large with a decent size sitting area and the bed was very comfortable. We did have to request extra pillows as only 1 each is provided but these were instantly provided. It gets very cold at night in December but there was an extra blanket left in the wardrobe and an electric heater in the bathroom, the main room is heated by a dual air-con/heater unit. Rooms have a refrigerator but no tea/coffee making facilities so I was glad of the travel kettle I had packed. Shower gel is provided but no shampoo and conditioner so make sure to take your own. No English language TV channels are available but the room had a strong wifi signal so we were able to watch Netflix on the Ipad. Breakfast is good, a selection of fresh fruit and dates, yoghurts and a selection of pastries and cakes, pancakes, toast, cereal and eggs. The very best thing about this hotel is the shuttle service, at 20 dirhams per person it was way cheaper than a taxi (although that price does not apply for evening pick up from town back to the hotel). The food at the hotel is superb and the alcohol prices similar to a bar in London. There is a Carrfour supermarket at Almazar mall which the hotel shuttle service will take you to and pick you up from, should you wish to sneak in some of your own drinks and or bottles of water. Within walking distance of the hotel is a reasonably cheap but excellent restaurant called Bladna which has a fairly extensive menu of both Moroccan and European dishes. We walked there twice in the evening and felt very safe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and liked being away from the noise of the medina. It is a very peaceful place set in beautiful landscaped grounds. The staff are extremely helpful, my partner was taken ill on our very last day and with the hotel full to capacity for the New Year celebrations it was not possible to take a late check out. However, a small room was found for him to stay in until our departure to the airport (6 hours later) at no charge and the hotel staff were able to organise a doctor to visit within 15 minutes of asking. We will definitely return to this hotel next time we visit Marrakesh.
The hotel is amazing with very friendly and helpful staff. All of the receptionists were very professional and helpful. They organized for us taxi driver for all day whom was very kind as well took us to some nice places and stayed with us all day. The weather wasn treally good to us but Omar knew some places what we could still enjoy regardless of the rainy weather.I can highly reccommend this place to all who like a beautyful peaceful place to stay during their holiday.
We stayed for 5 days there with my family (6of us and booked 3 deluxe rooms) When we arrived in marrakech we was a bit dissapointed about the city and the weather... we didnt like it at all, but we hoped all what we read about the hotel will be true... and yes when we arrived in that moment we just loved it Aziz on the reception was very helpful explain everything and he was very friendly he made us feel comfortable in 1 min. :)) then our family arrived later in the afternoon so we asked for transfer and he said me and my friend can go to the airport with the cab what he called for us and only need to pay the back way. Our parents flight was delays more than 2 hrs and Omar (the driver) was waiting and didnt say a word he was very nice too. All other days he was our driver and he took us to nice places for camel ride, quad ride and to see other places, dinner and lunch. he stayed with us all the time and give us advices on the market ect. He was very helpful and friendly aswell:) As i said the weather wasnt to good for 3 days but the air conditioner can do heating too plus we asked for some extra blankets so then night time was okay. The rooms are excellent huge and clean. On the last day we had sunshine finally so we could use the swimmingpool for few hrs which was not that warm but also clean and nice :) So all together we are very happy that we checked this hotel here on tripadvisor before we booked and it didnt dissapoint at all. All the staffs were very friendly, i can say i have been in few places before but in this hotel was the best service so far.(even waiters, receptionist, cleaners all of them were just great) Thank you so much for made our holiday great and definitely will recommend to everyone who is going to marrakech :))))
Just had a winter sun break in Marrakesh at La Maison des Oliviers. The hotel is superb. It's 10 minutes by taxi from the Medina which makes it very quiet and relaxing. No good though if you like an evening stroll as there's nowhere to go outside of the hotel. Set in very large grounds with gardens, all very well kept. Pool is heated and plenty of space to sit in the sun if that's your thing. The food is excellent, all fresh products and very good quality. The staff are super, very attentive and friendly. The room was huge with a walk in shower and all very clean and luxurious. The spa is definitely worth a visit; massages very relaxing and a a reasonable price. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel, and will definitely look to go back.
Lovely stay, food was good and staff were also nice. Pool was closed though. Yhe rooms were very nice and clean and cleaners did great job and were always very cheerful. It is a great locations aswell, nice and away from the busy centre so great for those peaceful nights away
This beautiful hotel complex is situated a few kilometres outside Marrakech, easily reached by very flexible shuttle service run by the hotel. Staff in the hotel are very kind and really do the absolute best they can. It takes a lot of skill to provide such meticulous service whilst providing a very relaxing environment. I was upgraded to a suite and was extremely comfortable. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. A heater was provided for the bathroom and the air conditioner heated too (nights are chilly in December). Great quality bedding and mattress and pilows. Extra quilt provided in room. The decor was amazing with polished plaster walls, stucco and hand painted ceilings. Jasmine scents the air outdoors and the grounds and gardens are beautiful and meticulously maintained. They were harvesting the olives when I was there. The pool is warm and plenty of beds provided so you can always find a sunny, quiet spot. I got an all inclusive package and the food is amazing. As a vegetarian I found plenty to eat and everything is made from the freshest ingredients. And the ice cream, oh the ice cream... Housekeeping is scrupulous and the tissues were scented with sandalwood. I had a package treatment in the Hamman which included wrap and scrub and facial and massage and stumbled out a couple of hours later completely relaxed. Very good value. A friendly cockeral wanders the grounds, the birds sing all day and I had daily visits from my own house bunting. La Maison des Oliviers is a credit to all the professional and friendly staff who work there. They cant do enough for you. The nice gentleman in the boutique on site custom made me the most beautiful leather bag for an extremely reasonable price and will custom make leather coats etc within 48 hours. Well worth having a chat with him. Most of the staff speak some English but got by fine in my Pidgin French. Had an amazing, relaxing and comfortable break and will definitely return. I can't praise the service and the general ambience highly enough. Everything is geared towards your comfort. I loved it.
Nice hotel in a traditional style - peaceful and well maintained with lovely grounds and the sound of birdsong. All the staff from reception to the gardeners were friendly, welcoming and efficient. We did not use the spa. You eat in the dining room at breakfast and dinner and there are outside table too. We were on the inclusive package which covered about 95% of what was available and we enjoyed the food and drinks - the ice cream especially! We did think that the evening meal a bit limited choice wise though very nice - maybe a special each evening or a buffet laid on one night for a change. We were in a suite and found it clean and attractive and well maintained and serviced. We had a living room with bedroom and bathroom off and a small balcony. The pool area had plenty of space with both sun loungers and beds. For lunch you eat outside near the bar. The shuttle bus into the town worked well for us. Unless you are in an original riad all the new hotels are on the outskirts and the surroundings are not that attractive. We too liked the chicken and there is a lovely tabby cat too.
I’ll list my feedback in bullet points as it’s easier to read and write. Pros: • Very chilled, relaxing and peaceful environment • Staff were very friendly and helpful • Spa was excellent for the most part – we bought the package which consisted of a hammam, scrub, wrap, hair treatment, massage and facial for 350dh, which was amazing value for money. Also had a 1 hour full body massage on our last day for 250dh, which was great. The spa ladies were lovely did their best to communicate with us despite the language barrier • The room was very spacious and clean, and the friendly maids cleaned and provided fresh towels on a daily basis. The bathroom was also nice and clean, and the shower pressure was good. Air con worked fine. • The pool was big and clean, and there were lots of comfortable sunbeds • Breakfast was included, which consisted of lots of different pastries, yoghurts, some fresh fruit, coffee, fresh orange juice and sometimes boiled eggs/omelettes. Loved the ready-chopped kiwi and the stuffed savoury pastries. • Overall the food was good quality and satisfying. The white fish skewers on the evening menu were very nice, and the ice cream was delicious! • The hotel design and architecture was very pleasing to the eye, and the hotel looks more expensive than what it costs to stay there • Although the hotel was on the outskirts, it only cost 25dh each way for the hotel shuttle to the city centre (which I believe runs from 8am to 8pm), or about 100dh for a taxi, which the hotel can order for you. The journey time is approx. 10-15 minutes, so not bad at all • Loved the random chicken that was wondering around during the day! Never got his name… Cons: • The Wifi was temperamental – only seemed to work well at the poolside for some reason • Very low/dim lighting in the bedrooms – this might be nice for couples on a romantic break, but it’s not so good when getting ready in the evening and you’re trying to put a bit of eyeliner on! :) • Satellite TV has very few channels, which were all in French/German apart from Al-Jazeera • The hotel is located in the outskirts, so there wasn’t much nearby apart from a pharmacy. The nearest convenience shops were about a 15-20 min walk • You don’t have the option of getting any snacks between set meal times, only drinks, which was annoying • No evening entertainment (not that I really cared), although I noticed they had books and board games in the reception area • I had my nails painted in the spa but they didn’t have a nail dryer! Not even a spray! Bizarre. • On the way home I experienced vomiting and diarrhoea, and I’m certain this was in relation to the mixed omelette (turkey, potatoes and cheese) I had at lunch time that day. Something must have been off, presumably the eggs. Overall I had a positive experience at the Maison Des Oliviers, and I feel that it was great value for money.
I stayed here for two nights with my bf in Sept 2017. I booked the night before as I was already in Morocco and decided to change my travel plans. We got a good deal therefore. Check-in was smooth for us and after a little wait by the pool (we arrived early) we were shown to our room. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely and HUGE. Minus a few flies the room was clean and well presented. We ate our lunches by the pool as there is nothing else around the hotel to go to for food and we were happy lounging by the pool for the day. Whilst the food wasn't cheap, it wasn't expensive either and was pleasant (but not AMAZING). We had a significant delay during our first lunch last they lost our order and left us sitting for 45 mins. When another couple sat down, ordered and received their food before us I knew something was wrong so spoke to the waiter. I was told our food would be 2 mins but it was another 15 whilst they hastily made it... I asked for complimentary glasses of wine due to the delay which was honoured. This was just an accident, but when you are on your holidays little things like that really peeve you! The pool area is pleasant and the pool seemed to be clean. The area could do with updating - the beds around the pool are just crates with mattresses on so you are essentially lying on the ground with no ability to sit them up. Therefore, most people laid on the loungers on the grass as these had the ability to adjust the seating position. I also did not like the music that was played around the pool - it was by no means thumping or blasting out but it wasn't too my taste and I found it a bit too loud to sleep - I prefer a quite pool area and people can listen to their music with personal headphones if they wish! The music was Moroccan too which as a Westerner, after a while I found rather boring to hear the same tunes. Like all of the hotels we have stayed in Morocco (SIX in total!) the wifi was a bit rubbish and intermittent. The breakfast was pleasant with a good amount of variety. The grounds are pretty with palm trees and flowers and seem well maintained. You are about 15 mins outside of the medina, along a very long road and then dirt track - you have nowhere to walk to as there is a quite poor residential area outside the walls. However, we didn't use it as we have a car but I think the hotel puts on a reasonably priced shuttle service to the medina for guests. I found the staff to be very friendly and was very grateful when the reception man called to tell me I had left my rings in my room after I checked out. Overall, for the price we paid for this hotel it was good value but it is not a luxury hotel. I am sure people will have a very nice time staying here, but it is unlikely we would return. There is no particular reason for this, we just don't have any particular reason making us want to return.
The hotel is located to the outskirts of the City near to the aqua park. There is a shuttle bus running into the City- otherwise it would be a taxi away. The setting is very tranquil with gardens surrounding the accommodation. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. My room was large, clean and comfortable with an outside garden terrace. The room had a digital safe, rainshower, hairdryer, television and air conditioning. The inroom wifi was a bit erratic but there was better service at the pool. I took dinner at the poolside restaurant; a nice setting with great food; I can particularly recommend the lamb tagine. Breakfast again was served poolside and was an eclectic buffet. This hotel serves as an ideal relaxing location for those tired of the bustle of Marrakech.
