We booked this as a family holiday for one week; our first time in Marrakech. The hotel grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed strolling around them in the morning and early evening. Our twelve year old son was delighted by the turtles in the pool outside the restaurant and the resident cats. There is a constant sound of birdsong in the air and the flowers are beautiful. We enjoyed using the pool area which is kept very clean and has a lovely bar and restaurant. There is also a small boule pit and table tennis. We treated ourselves to a hammam scrub and massage in the hotel spa during our stay. This was an enjoyable and relaxing experience, offering good value for money. We booked a superior room for ourselves and a standard room for our son. However, after the first day we received an upgrade so that we could have adjoining rooms. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern and there is a pleasant seating area and lawn outside. We particularly liked the argan oil shower gel provided in our room. The rooms are cleaned each day to a high standard. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning, and there was a good variety of fruit, pancakes, breads, yoghurt, etc, to cater for all tastes. We also ate in the restaurant on three evenings. The choice is good, with Moroccan and European dishes and the service is very attentive. The poolside bar is open until 7pm for drinks and we enjoyed a pleasant poolside lunch one day. The reception staff and all of the staff we met around the hotel were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is situated outside the centre of Marrakech, and there are no other restaurants or major facilities in the area. This suited our needs, but may be an issue for some people. It offers a tranquil oasis from the bustle of the city. The hotel operates a regular shuttle service into the centre and are happy to organise taxis, which were always very prompt. We found this hotel perfect for our needs; quiet and relaxing, but with amenities such as a spa, restaurant and pool. This helped us to strike a balance between relaxation and exploring. We would love to return here one day. A wonderful break. We would highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed as a group of 3 at this hotel in April, 2 weeks before Easter, me, my husband and our 16 year old daughter. We had booked a deluxe double, but I enquired about upgrading to a suite before we came. The offer made to us, which we took, was to help them with an over booking problem by moving to another hotel, the Rose Sultan, for 2 nights, and we then had a suite at Maison des Oliviers for the other 5 nights of our stay at no extra cost. The suite provided the extra space we wanted, with the double bed on a raised dais with curtains around it, allowing a little privacy from the sitting room area. The double bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed, however my daughter was on the sofa, made up as a bed which was uncomfortable and also meant we had nowhere to sit in the sitting room area… Adding a separate small bed with a proper mattress would be a better option for a 3rd guest, in my opinion. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped, with 2 showers in one wetroom area...so the option of sharing a shower was there. Overall the hotel was well provisioned, the main swimming pool heated with sunbeds all around it and a bar serving drinks and snacks to hand. There was a souvenir shop, a ping pong table, a petanque pitch, a trampoline and small sandpit, with attractive and well kept gardens surrounding. Our suite gave us access to a small private garden with a patio and a small plunge pool with a few sunbeds. Pool towels were provided free of charge. While we were in Marrakech, the weather was hot and sunny, as high as 30 degrees on 2 of the days, so we enjoyed the pool very much! As well as breakfast, which was included in our deal, we ate in the restaurant on 3 evenings. The food and drinks were very good. In fact we found the European food in the evening was better than the Morroccan. Vegetarian choices were limited, as we found everywhere in Morrocco, but the chef was willing to make alternatives to order. Breakfast was self serve, although you could order omelettes on request, with a large selection of cakes, pastries, pancakes and fruit as well as cereal, scrambled egg, toast, yoghurt. The coffee was good quality from a Nespresso-type machine. Service from the lovely receptionists, Mustapha and Asif was fantastic… they couldn't do more to help us, and all with a very friendly smile and excellent English. However the female receptionist who was there on one occasion struggled to raise a smile and everything seemed to be a huge effort for her ☹️! The waiters and barman were friendly too and very obliging. They spoke enough English to cover their jobs… The only downside for this lovely hotel is its distance from central Marrakech and how isolated it is. The hotel taxi is 30 Dhms a person (approx £2.80) into central Marrakech, or the local bus is 5 Dhms, and it's clean, frequent and less than 10 minutes walk to the bus stop. The journey takes about 15/20 minutes, depending on traffic. There is one restaurant near the bus stop on the main road, but we didn't find anything else nearby, shops or restaurants… So I recommend the hotel, assuming you are happy with a quiet place some way out of town...
Just returned from ten wonderful days at this lovely hotel. Its not often that a hotel lives up to the pictures and reviews but this one actually exceeded them. We had a suite which was spacious, well laid out and thoughtfully designed and furnished. It also had heaters which were needed on the chillier nights that can occur in March. Pool area has plenty of loungers with a good choice of shade and sun and the pool is heated and kept pristine. The design means that the grounds feel spacious and there are lovely flowers and constant birdsong making for a very relaxing ambience. We chose all. inclusive for ease but meals are reasonably priced if you pay as you go and the food is delicious. Shuttle into town is very handy. Could not finish without mentioning the staff who absolutely make this hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and all are helpful and smiling. Already missing this wee haven in amazing Marrakesh.
My boyfriend and I had the most relaxing holiday at Maison des Oliviers. This place looks exactly like the pictures. We spent a week here in May sipping mojitos by the pool, absolute heaven! The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food is amazing and there are a variety of day excursions that the front desk will be only too happy to advise you on.
We stayed here for 5 nights in Feb 2019 and were very pleased with our choice. Hotel and pool area are clean and attractive and we found the staff to all be very polite, friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good and quality of food in the restaurant in the evenings was high although it would have been nice to have a little more choice on the menu. There isn't anything within walking distance of the hotel but it was easy to use the transfer service into town arranged through the hotel who will also arrange to pick you up from town at a pre arranged time. Reception staff were also very helpful with arranging trips further afield. Would recommend to people who want to see Marrakech but also have the opportunity to get away from it all.
Very pleased to choose this hotel as once through the doors it is a lovely escape from the busy city. The downside is you need to use the shuttle/taxi at a cost of €12 one way to the town and €15 for airport. We stayed in a luxury room, which was quite large, with a large walk in shower and little patio and garden. The aircon was good, the bed was very firm. The call to prayer from the nearby mosque was loud and woke us up in the am! The pool and around the pool was a nice area, plenty of sun or shade options. We had the all inclusive deal and found the food and drinks very good with plenty of choice. There was not much point of the TV in the room as only appeared to be local channels. There were beauty treatments to be had but we didn’t use those. I would recommend this if you don’t mind being out of town.
We spend one week in this beautiful resort. I can recommend this hotel to everyone but I will list pros and cons: Pros: - Big area & beautiful gardens. - Very kind staff. - Restaurant and spa services were ok. - Very cozy and beautiful rooms Cons: - I had ordered room with semi-private pool and when we arrived to the hotel we didn't get one due some issues with the pool and we were guided to basic room. This was not good way to start our vacation especially because I had asked few times that is it sure room with semi-private pool because that is what I reserved. Luckily staff promised massages for free and after few days we were able to move to room that we originally had reserved. I'm sure this is not common but this is the reason why I took one star away. - There is basically nothing outside this hotel and you have to take cab to the Marrakech center. Overall good experience and I can recommend this hotel/resort. We were there in February and it was warm enough during days and sun was guaranteed. Nights were chilly.
It s a new built hotel. We got an upgrade at the time of arrival.the check in was quick. Although the booking site said that the taxes were included they told us we have to pay the state taxes. The first night we had dinner to the restaurant. The food was good but the portions should be a little bit bigger. The room was clean but cold. The beds were not comfortable and they didn t have enough blankets. Just 2 small. The location is 10 min driving from the center so it s OK if you have a car. The breakfast it was discent but the fact I found mold on a toast bread was very disappointing. The servise was nice. Another thing you have to know is that cause the shower it s inside the room with no door it s really nice as decoration but gives to the room more humidity than it should.i M not sure if I would book it again.
arrived new years eve and upgraded to a suite , fab room although a little dark but had everything we needed , bed was huge and very comfortable. Food was perfect , yes breakfast could have been a bit more varied but being all inclusive we had lunch by the pool at 12.30 most days. Music round the pool was unobtrusive. WiFi could be a bit iffy in the room but no problems by pool or reception. TV in english not available unless you want CNN but again we didn't feel we needed it. Hotel staff throughout our stay made us feel very welcome from the porter , cleaner , waiters , bar staff ,and reception , nothing was too much trouble.Occasionally service was a bit on the slow side but the quietness , ambience and total chill factor outweighed this. plenty of sun loungers available and could sit in sun or shade , pool very clean and ell kept and it was very comfortable . The cleaner round the pool was lovely and always wiped down our bed and bought our towels to us. my wife had a leather coat made to measure at the onsite shop and already wants more. it was a real treat to be able to have all inclusive that included bottles of wine and not by glass and food cooked to order . just check which drinks are included in all inclusive as not always clear. we have today rebooked to go again at beginning of September . transport organised by reception was good value and prompt. must also add that passport control on arrival and departure was far quicker than on previous visits and we left the airport 40 minutes after arrival. In summary - if you want a quiet hotel break to chill and unwind with no hassle from entertainment staff , good food and wine then this is the hotel for you.
I would rate this property as very good since the option of "good" doesnt exist .On the other hand a rating of average would be unfair. This is a beautiful property situated on the outskirts of Marrakech , about 20 mts drive from the city centre. The staff were lovely, helpful and accomodative. I cannot emphasize how pleased we were when the manager [Aziz] provided us with a tagine dinner on the day of our arrival eventhough the restaurant had closed.Lunch is served around the pool side and we throughly enjoyed it [not to mention the dip in the pool].However the breakfast was dissapppointing and boring. The coffee was good up until two days before our departure when the coffee machine broke down.Mustafa and Aziz very kindly helped organize a small birthday celebration for my wife with little notice. The food served at the restaurant was delicious with good choice of dessert. The only negative experience was the total absence of any WIFI in our room and the poor and limited choice of tv channels. We had to rely on the wifi services around the pool and restaurant to make tour bookings as well as to check into our air line . The hotel was good at providing taxi services to and from the city centre which was less expensive than the ones from the city centre.
