This hotel made our trip to Marrakech. Upon arrival, we got upgraded to a suite, which was lovely and authentically decorated. The staff were also really nice when we got there, nothing was too much trouble the whole time we were there. There is a shuttle which runs from 8am until 8pm, that will take you to and from the centre which is great - the hotel is about 4 miles out of Marrakech, which personally we loved as we were away from the madness of the Medina. The food was delicious (the Tagines in particular), the grounds were impeccably kept, the pool area was peaceful and very clean. The spa is also well worth a visit for a relaxing massage. I honestly cannot recommend the hotel enough, and I would 100% visit again.
After seeing the pictures for this hotel online and reading the many great reviews, I was beyond disappointed to see what I saw when we arrived at this hotel. I had booked a 5 night stay for my partner and I, and when we saw our bedroom, our face dropped. There were dead bugs on the floor, the carpet was dirty when we arrived and continued to stay dirty for the duration of our stay, as no one had bothered to hoover it. There was no mini bar or even a basic small fridge and when I decided I was going to call the reception to see if we could change rooms, we discovered that the room did not even have a telephone. That same evening that we checked in and saw the state of our room, we went to reception to let them know that we were a little disappointed with the condition of the room and ask if we could be moved to another room to which they said "hotel is full nothing we can do about it." So only slightly disappointed at this stage, we decided to try and put it behind us and have dinner in the hotel restaurant. I will be brief with my overview of the hotel restaurant. Drinks were good. Service was the slowest I have ever experienced in my life and I'm not even kidding. We waited over an hour before the starters arrived which were fairly tasty but not worth the wait. The main course was totally bland. No flavour whatsoever; even salt didn't help. Now I wish the problems mentioned at the start of my review were the only things wrong with this hotel but unfortunately, the list continues and it gets worse. I had paid for a queen bed and that's what we thought we had been given until we got into bed that night and I fell through the middle of it. That's right, our queen bed was not actually a queen bed; it was two single beds cleverly disguised as a queen bed. Bear in mind that we checked in to the hotel in the evening when it was dark, so the next morning when it was brighter and the sun was shining, we noticed that there were large cracks in the walls. To top that off, our sink had a leak from underneath and was spewing out on to the floor. Each time we complained, none of the staff seemed to care. This is not what we expected nor was accustomed to for a 4* hotel. I've stayed in 3* hotels that were far more modern, clean and with better service than this horrible place. Don't waste your money here.
Just returned from a trip to this lovely hotel. I travelled with three female friends. On first approach to the hotel we were a bit concerned as the surrounding area is not particularly nice. However on driving into the hotel we were so pleased. It is typical morrocan architecture, so beautiful and peaceful. From arrival to departure we had no complaints. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. The rooms and public areas including the pool were spotless. Over the four days we were there we eat a variety of breakfast lunch and dinner. All delicious all freshly prepared. We enjoyed the zen package in the spa which was excellent and very good value. I would highly recommend this hotel. Handy for sightseeing but away from the hustle and bustle.
Firstly, we got the hotel for about half 9 at night. Felt like it was middle of nowhere which was a bit disappointing at first. We got booked a table for the restaurant, and the food was NOT nice for us. It was very bland and under cooked. However, There is a restaurant down the road called Bladna if you wish to try something else. We wanted to go Medina and the shuttle bus is fantastic for that 25dh (£1.92p) and the drivers are really nice. The distance for Medina isn’t long and then being of middle of nowhere didn’t really bother us. The hotel room is very traditional and dark. The pool area was good. Overall, we enjoyed our experience with them. The staff were really nice. ——————————-/——- WATCH OUT FOR One thing we were a bit shocked about was paying local tax which came up to 65£.. which wasn’t mentioned to us before or after. So make sure you ask the hotel or your holiday provider. Last thing which happened to more than one couple on the trip, if you’re going to any activities please make sure you ask how much is it going to charge. We were taking to the mountain with the driver, and we agreed on 300dh for both of us, and so did a couple that was travelling with us. As we got the place the driver said the tour guide will guide you to the mountains now and in the end he asked for 250dh from us which we were confused about but observing other people who weren’t part of us were in the same boat. I thought this was not nice thing to do, they should tell you before hand how much is going to charge all together so WATCH OUT. ———————————————— Pros - The pool area - shuttle bus service and the drivers - the staff - distance to and from Medina - size of rooms - reception guys ——————————————————- Cons - the breakfast was just sweet dishes and wish they labelled what they are serving to help people understand the dish and also possible allergies. - WiFi was very slow. - more lights in the rooms
Hotel was lovely, very well maintained and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Location was great; away from the bustles of the city.. Nice pool area was great for relaxing however was closed for a few days. The food was also very nice, and made fresh from order.
We spent a week at Christmas at La Maison des Oliviers and loved the hotel. We had booked a suite and on arrival were upgraded to an Ambassador Suite with a private garden and semi-private pool (unheated). The room was large with a decent size sitting area and the bed was very comfortable. We did have to request extra pillows as only 1 each is provided but these were instantly provided. It gets very cold at night in December but there was an extra blanket left in the wardrobe and an electric heater in the bathroom, the main room is heated by a dual air-con/heater unit. Rooms have a refrigerator but no tea/coffee making facilities so I was glad of the travel kettle I had packed. Shower gel is provided but no shampoo and conditioner so make sure to take your own. No English language TV channels are available but the room had a strong wifi signal so we were able to watch Netflix on the Ipad. Breakfast is good, a selection of fresh fruit and dates, yoghurts and a selection of pastries and cakes, pancakes, toast, cereal and eggs. The very best thing about this hotel is the shuttle service, at 20 dirhams per person it was way cheaper than a taxi (although that price does not apply for evening pick up from town back to the hotel). The food at the hotel is superb and the alcohol prices similar to a bar in London. There is a Carrfour supermarket at Almazar mall which the hotel shuttle service will take you to and pick you up from, should you wish to sneak in some of your own drinks and or bottles of water. Within walking distance of the hotel is a reasonably cheap but excellent restaurant called Bladna which has a fairly extensive menu of both Moroccan and European dishes. We walked there twice in the evening and felt very safe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and liked being away from the noise of the medina. It is a very peaceful place set in beautiful landscaped grounds. The staff are extremely helpful, my partner was taken ill on our very last day and with the hotel full to capacity for the New Year celebrations it was not possible to take a late check out. However, a small room was found for him to stay in until our departure to the airport (6 hours later) at no charge and the hotel staff were able to organise a doctor to visit within 15 minutes of asking. We will definitely return to this hotel next time we visit Marrakesh.
The hotel is amazing with very friendly and helpful staff. All of the receptionists were very professional and helpful. They organized for us taxi driver for all day whom was very kind as well took us to some nice places and stayed with us all day. The weather wasn treally good to us but Omar knew some places what we could still enjoy regardless of the rainy weather.I can highly reccommend this place to all who like a beautyful peaceful place to stay during their holiday.
We stayed for 5 days there with my family (6of us and booked 3 deluxe rooms) When we arrived in marrakech we was a bit dissapointed about the city and the weather... we didnt like it at all, but we hoped all what we read about the hotel will be true... and yes when we arrived in that moment we just loved it Aziz on the reception was very helpful explain everything and he was very friendly he made us feel comfortable in 1 min. :)) then our family arrived later in the afternoon so we asked for transfer and he said me and my friend can go to the airport with the cab what he called for us and only need to pay the back way. Our parents flight was delays more than 2 hrs and Omar (the driver) was waiting and didnt say a word he was very nice too. All other days he was our driver and he took us to nice places for camel ride, quad ride and to see other places, dinner and lunch. he stayed with us all the time and give us advices on the market ect. He was very helpful and friendly aswell:) As i said the weather wasnt to good for 3 days but the air conditioner can do heating too plus we asked for some extra blankets so then night time was okay. The rooms are excellent huge and clean. On the last day we had sunshine finally so we could use the swimmingpool for few hrs which was not that warm but also clean and nice :) So all together we are very happy that we checked this hotel here on tripadvisor before we booked and it didnt dissapoint at all. All the staffs were very friendly, i can say i have been in few places before but in this hotel was the best service so far.(even waiters, receptionist, cleaners all of them were just great) Thank you so much for made our holiday great and definitely will recommend to everyone who is going to marrakech :))))
Just had a winter sun break in Marrakesh at La Maison des Oliviers. The hotel is superb. It's 10 minutes by taxi from the Medina which makes it very quiet and relaxing. No good though if you like an evening stroll as there's nowhere to go outside of the hotel. Set in very large grounds with gardens, all very well kept. Pool is heated and plenty of space to sit in the sun if that's your thing. The food is excellent, all fresh products and very good quality. The staff are super, very attentive and friendly. The room was huge with a walk in shower and all very clean and luxurious. The spa is definitely worth a visit; massages very relaxing and a a reasonable price. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel, and will definitely look to go back.
Lovely stay, food was good and staff were also nice. Pool was closed though. Yhe rooms were very nice and clean and cleaners did great job and were always very cheerful. It is a great locations aswell, nice and away from the busy centre so great for those peaceful nights away
