The hotel is convenient to get to and has plenty of free parking. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and spoke perfect english. The room is large, but very worn. There are black stains of the walls near the air vents and the carpet and trip are well worn. The receptionist said that the hotel is scheduled for a complete renovation soon, and it could use it. Other than that the rooms were clean and breakfast and dinner were good.
Easy to find close to the motorway links. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a good range of foods offered for the buffet breakfast. A good quality and efficient hotel, just what you need when traveling..
Great service at check-in, very helpful. I watched as he also helped the couple in front of us—great recommendations of things to do. Rooms and hotel were very clean but a little dated. The room door had a gap under it and the walls were relatively thin, so there’s lots of noise if people around you are active—late check ins or early risers. It appears this hotel is popular with tourist buses as two coaches arrived full of people.
Hotel very good apart from steps up to bar and restaurant which made it impossible for a wheelchair user to access these facilities. This should have been made clear before the booking was made.perhaps a ramp should be put in.
My second visit to this hotel. In a quiet suburb of Reims but a short drive to the centre. Large private car park as well as gardens and lawns. Restaurant overlooks the private swimming pool. Adjacent bus stop with regular service to town centre. Two story hotel with well fitted rooms all with a bathroom with a bath albeit a little small if you are over 6 feet tall. But the highlights of this hotel are the friendly helpful staff and the restaurant. The food and service is a varied and locally inspired menu and changes every day. The reception staff make you very welcome.. If you want to tour the Champagne area of Epernay, Chalon, etc. this is an ideal location. Hope to return again soon.
We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, and sadly found that the standards were not as high as they have been in the past. The room was OK and clean and tidy. The food was not of the high standard that it has been in the past. For the evening meal we were promised on the menu chicken, roast potatoes and fried vegetables. Well the chicken was OK, we had a few chips but the vegetables were from a frozen bag of vegetables and had not been fried or drained. They left a pool of water on the plate. Breakfast was OK but with two coach tours in it was a bit of a scramble to get what you wanted. Drinks were a little expensive compared to what they were. A couple had visited the hotel on a return journey five weeks prior and they said the drink prices had gone up a fair bit.
We visited her as part of a Ledger Coach holiday on our way to Tuscany. We stayed here the first and last night of our holiday and what a wonderful hotel! The beds a super comfortable and the bar is not too expensive. Only downside was that they couldn't get us an extra pillow. oh and if you visit, do pick up a box of the famous pink biscuits!
stayed here with coach party enroute for Lake Como, found staff friendly and food was very adequate we only stayed the one night but would be happy to stay longer if the opportunity arose as it is very central
When I arrived late in night I asked for upgrade (with my membership advantage). Receptionist said ok. He gave me room but he also went with me for some reason and why ? He was not sure if room is clean - and it wasn't... So we came down, he gave me another room. This time I went alone and what a surprise - it was not privilege room... There was a fridge in the room with one bottle of water all wet and sticky as it was broken (fridge). The room was in bad shape (damaged desk, stains on the walls and floor seem sticky). Breakfast was OK, but that's all. Learned by experience in mercure Clermont-Ferrand and Cholet I'm always booking Mercure to have some guarantee of quality but it seems it's not like this. 100 EUR for night in 1 star hotel is too much.
Upon arrival the lobby, bar and restaurant looked clean and modern (which they are) behind all that is a very tired and poorly maintained hotel that is in real need of refurbishment, The corridors have really nasty stained carpets and looks like you are walking down a prison corridor, the rooms get worse with everything needed to be refreshed. The AC offers little or no additional freshness / comfort. There cannot be a housekeeping manager there, if there is they really should be ashamed of themselves for letting the place go like it has. The pool and the outside sitting area was again in real need of cleaning up. Having said all that dinner and breakfast was spot on and could not be faulted and of course a glass of Champagne had to be had in the home of Champagne If you are en route to another destination (which most people clearly are, including the two coach parties that arrive) and you can put up with the rooms then fine, but seriously consider somewhere else.
