Unfortunately many rooms were closed for refurbishment and building works made noise and dust. Monsieur had to have a sense of humour and he did. Despite having to lug baggage up two floors to find a working room we enjoyed our stay.
So this is a 3 Star hotel, and it does that absolutely fine. It is cheap, so you cant expect the 5 star luxuries. The rooms unfortunately in the summer were very hot, without a fan or a/c. My wife had to get up in the night to take a cold shower because it was that hot.
We booked this hotel thinking that being part of the Campanile group, it would match standard expectations. Well, we were badly surprised to see the following imperfections in the room: - air conditioning was not working at all - toilet flush button was hardly working, and when it was, only a few drops of water were coming out - soap dispenser was empty, it was hard to shower without soap and shampoo - shower was leaking, the floor was covered with water puddles after showering As far as the breakfast is concerned, it was not worth €9! Bread, butter, jam, and fruit salad. Could've cooked it myself for less than 2 euros. We've stayed in Campanile hotels before, but nothing compared to this hotel.
The hotel is being re-fitted. We arrived to Wet Paint signs, on a very hot day, to find that NONE of the air conditioning was working in any room, and all recently renovated rooms smelt strongly of paint. The manager was clearly under stress and did his best but the restaurant staff did not turn up for work in the evening, so the manager had to wait on tables and check guests in with "Please wait 5 minutes", while the buffet was half-empty and dishes were not refilled. We always stay at Campanile hotels but this one should be avoided until work has finished. The hotel itself will NOT contact you or notify you in advance, so be prepared!
Stayed here recently as a stop over to the south of France. Upon arrival I went to the check in desk and was greeted by a man who started the booking in procedure but then felt it was more important to answer the telephone whilst I stood there for 5 minutes with all my luggage and exhausted from travel. When I finally did check in the room was very poor, the whole room had a stale tobacco smoke aroma so we had to leave the door open to ventilate it. The rooms seemed quite old and to be fair it did look as if some were in the process of being renovated. Anyway had a quick shower (was was hot and fine) then went to the bar and restaurant to meet up with friends. I went to the bar which was the same as the reception desk and waited and waited whilst employees in front of me busied themselves, I then asked how do I get a drink from the bar and the same man who finally checked me in said sternly "What do you want" so I asked him for a beer and a white wine, at which point he threw a menu in front of me saying "I don't know what one you want". I know there is not only a language difference but between cultures there is often a difference of how we expect to be treated and how we are actually treated but this fell far short of any hospitality level I would have expected. I chose my wine at which point he went back to the check in area to book in another client whilst I continued to "dry up".. At this point I nicknamed him "Hospitality man of the year NOT" - Eventually to order a beer and a glass of house wine took 25 minutes. We did actually eat in the restaurant and the food and service there was fine. Overnight the rooms were extremely hot and uncomfortable, not the best beds and the air conditioning was not working at all. The window also did not open far, probably for security reasons. It was also on a busy road so there was traffic noise. Was not a refreshing night with the prospect of riding(on motorcycles) a further 440 miles the next day. Would not recommend.
The hotel was easy to find at Tinqueux. The hotel was slow to welcome me. The room had TV, sporadic wifi and clean bathroom. Despite being a non smoking room it smelled of smoke. The bed linen reeked of smoke. Breakfast was fine. Coffee , bread, jams so the usual.
Booked in for an overnight stay on the way to skiing with my family. Booked two rooms with ensuite. On arrival we were shown our two rooms which were on different floors. This hotel is designed like an American motel with doors straight onto outside balconies. Really bad security and felt very unsafe and un secure. Refused to take the rooms because they were so far apart. We were offered two other rooms which absolutely stank of tobacco and dirt. My wife was in tears. Instead I drove around and found a family room at the Novotel which was excellent. Refused to refund any money. Disgusting
Arrived at 1800 with a reservation. Dark and dismal setting with no real external lighting to speak of. Couldn't make the automatic payment thing work. Tried in the freezing cold and gave up after 3/4 hour. Rang the number displayed no reply. Restaurant closed so couldn't get food or a coffee. Gave up and went to the Ibis down the road which is lovely. Very very disappointing Campanile you must try harder.
Stayed here whilst on our way to the South of France. Hotel was clean and the bathroom was fine though it is very basic. There are tea and coffee facilities. Hotel decor and construction has that 1970's feel to it so it doesn't look great but there is parking on site. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel as we had an early start. Overall it was okay for one night but I would probably try somewhere else if I were in that area again.
Well located outside the town with easy access to all the major roads. Plenty of local out of town facilities with a good super market within a couple of minutes .Plenty of parking. Food good staff friendly.
