We stayed in the new edition called the Stables and it was terrible. Room beside us partied all night. Walls are paper thin and bed was very uncomfortable. There is NO ONE at the front desk after 11pm, so don't bother complaining. Next morning at breakfast the waitress asked us how our stay was, I told her about it and she said did you stay at the Stables? Apparently they know it's an issue. When I checked out in the morning I canceled the room for that night explaining that we needed to go home to get some rest and she gave no apology or even acted liked she remotely cared about our terrible experience. Food was only average not worth the price they are charging. Update! Just found out they charged for the night I canceled! There was no mention of the charge when I dropped off the room key, they did not give me a print out of the charges when I checked out I never signed anything. This place is a total rip off. Make sure to ask for a printed copy of your room charges and make sure to check your charge card for fraudulent over charges. What they quoted over the phone and what they charged were two different amounts.

We recently stayed two nights in one of the brand new stable suites on the property. We were excited, as the grounds and castle are incredibly beautiful. I loved the landscaping and peaceful atmosphere. Our suite was very nice and the bathroom really impressed the kids. However, there were a few things that kind of dulled our experience. I went to put a few drink in our fridge and realized there was no room, due to the number of stocked drinks that were in there for sale. I had to keep our drinks in our cooler. My suitcase had to sit on the floor because there was no luggage rack. The first morning, I noticed the room did not come with typical hotel amenities like a hair dryer, iron, or WiFi (cell service is poor in the area). I thought I read that there were "community" irons you could borrow, but at the time I didn't feel like tracking one down. Plus even though the distance to the castle was walkable, it was still far enough that we actually drove once. When we came back to the room that evening, I realized housekeeping never visited. We all needed to shower, but only had the used towels from that morning. This wouldn't have been a problem, except there is only one towel rack in a bathroom designed for 4 people, so not all the towels had been hung to dry properly. Our tiny trashcan was full, and we didn't have any more coffee supplies for the next morning. I'm sure I could have called the front desk, but who wants housekeeping to come to your room at 7pm? Overall, it was a very nice atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant. I guess I was under the impression that we would receive more hotel amenities based on the steep nightly rate. I probably wouldn't stay here again unless it was for an event. It would be a gorgeous venue for a wedding.

Whether you are looking for a cozy place to eat or a honeymoon getaway this place is great. Care to atmosphere, good food and service make it a super place to plan for your next adventure away. Close to Amish country and Mohican sites and activities gives you plenty of things to do in the daytime. Loudenville is a quaint little town.

We stayed at a cabin on property when you first pull in. We stayed off season so out experience was a little chillier. I love the quite of the woods. In case you've heard of the reputation no I didn't see or hear any ghosts and we had the "haunted cabin".

Amazing experience with the wedding planner, catering plans, and the Twilight Tent. Every step of the way, the team has been supportive and informative. We were able to set aside a specific number of rooms at the castle and in the new stables on the land. We couldn't be more excited and grateful!

Very Magical Place for a Wedding or romantic getaway. Great for small to large family reunions or events. A bit out of the way if you stay overnight elsewhere and definitely need a car if you do. Located in the Ohio Hills and Amish country, but you can still drive to Cleveland in an hour.

This is an awesome place to stay. The rooms are big, look fantastic and comfy. The staff treated us very well...friendly and professional. Only reason I did not give it a 5 star was price as it is over $200 for a room and not really much else on property to warrant that high of a cost.

Our room was BEATIFUL and clean and well stocked. We had planned ot put our blow out on the pull out as part of our stay (there are 4 of us) but the couch was in need of a good vacuuming under the cushions so we just put the blow out on the floor. Other than this, the room was perfect. The pool was great fun and the staff was very friendly. Thanks for a great stay!

My wife and I stayed in the Castle for our Anniversary in July 2018. We have nothing to complain about except we wish the hotel staff would get trained in hospitality just a bit more. No one was rude, but they didn't go out of their way to try and be helpful. The front desk staff just answered our basic questions, but they didn't try and make us feel special in any way. In fact, they didn't even know some of the basic answers to our most simple questions. The room was ok, but not what you would expect for $250/night. Internet was only available in the lobby, the pool/jacuzzi was interesting: Jets didn't seem to work at all, water feature broken and not working and when we mentioned it to the front desk staff they shrugged it off. I don't know how to explain exactly what I'm feeling other than nothing made this experience extraordinary and we probably won't go back. The Copper Mug, on the other hand, was EXCELLENT! Service was great, friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was INCREDIBLE! We will definitely go back for another meal or three. Just wish we could stay somewhere else in the future...

Great story and vision behind this place- absolutely beautiful looking getaway. Unfortunately current management is putting money into building new cottages without regard to the older ones. Room was unique and eye catching but needs updating. Fitted bed sheet was too small for mattress so kept popping up at the corners and partial mattress pad kept bunching up underneath- a full fitted mattress pad should have been used. Nightstand light bulbs were 40 watts- not easy to read by. Mattress is quite old and squeeky. Bathroom shower made me wish I was back on a cruise ship as it would have been bigger! Had to maneuver for 6'1" 200 lb man without banging elbows on sliding door you close behind you. Grounds were beautiful looking but walkways were covered with mulch that ran down a week ago after the last rain and some weeds were close to a foot tall, No WiFi beyond lobby and don't count on cell reception in the room. WiFi was so bad in lobby after waiting 10 minutes the receptionist had to use her mobile phone to create a hot spot to print our receipt from their computer. On the plus side the food was delicious and the outside atmosphere eating dinner and breakfast was very beautiful. However, as other reviewers stated, despite there only being 3 other couples eating breakfast, the service was painfully slow.
