The bathroom seemed as though it could use a bit more cleaning; one of the night stand lamps wasn’t working so we had to finagle that with an extension cord and it did work after that. Our deadbolt on our door also didn’t work; in hindsight we could have asked for a different room but we had a baby and hands were full already. The lakefront right across the street was lovely! The motel itself is a step back in time. Definitely could use renovation but we actually liked the old features.

Absolutely stunning room, definitely worth it to get the hot tub rooms. The staff were wonderful and the property location was gorgeous. There’s a private section of the beach right across the road, and it’s right next to a gas station and diner. Will 100% be back here.

Being across the street from Lake Michigan was the best thing about our stay. The room was old and dumpy. The beds were uncomfortable. There was an awful mildewy smell at the pool. The food at the restaurant next door was terrible.

AVOID this place...you will regret staying here

I booked this hotel for two nights based on price and amenities (pool), but we barely made it through one. The room was dirty and tired— stains on the carpet, dust, lightbulb out, and a bathroom that clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The door frame was broken and we didn’t even feel safe staying there. We decided to not try the pool which I am glad for as others said it was dirty too. I had not read the reviews before hand but now I completely believe all the 1 star reviews and I am very skeptical of the 5 star reviews. There is absolutely no way this place earns 5 stars. We decided to check out early and move somewhere else because we couldn’t stand another night, but when I asked for a refund for the second night, of course they they flat-out refused even though the hotel was nearly empty. I was told to try through the third party (Hotels.com) who said to to try with the hotel. I called the hotel again and of course they refused. They could just do the right thing and provide a refund for unused nights but they refuse, and I will take it up with the credit card company. I’ve stayed in budget hotels before, but ultimately this one was bad. Save yourself the frustration, read the reviews, and stay somewhere else.
