Came to a birthday party of my friend at the hotel what a great night nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff they even had vegan beer for my friend truly unexpected he never normally gets that when were out so thank you so much to the bar supervisor Donna she was so lovely hope to visit here again when the refurbishment is finished .
We have just had our wedding at the Midland & if anyone is considering it as a venue I would look no further. Firstly Nina (the wedding co-ordinator) THANK YOU for everything you were wonderful you made me and my husband feel so at ease for the whole journey. Nothing was too much or too little for her and she was always on hand to help throughout the whole process. We found a lot of our suppliers via the Midland and they were fantastic; from the florist, table linen company, magician & photobooth they were all faultless and by using suppliers recommended by the hotel we knew we were in safe hands. The day itself was perfect, every member of staff was amazing (especially Liam & Nick on Concierge) everyone commented on how friendly and helpful they were. The bar staff were great fun and the day ran so smoothly. The suite we stayed in was fabulous I would happily have stayed there forever!!! The spa is out of this world I wish we would have made better use of it. There was nothing I could fault about our wedding at the Midland; it is a fantastic venue with amazing staff who cannot do enough for you.
Stayed for one night and met friends for a pre-theatre meal in Mr Coopers. A super quality room, large, comfortable and luxuriously furnished. Marble bathroom spacious and well lit with nice toiletries. Perhaps the best part was simply delightful polite and friendly staff, a delicious reasonably priced menu, good wine list too. Meeting friends became a love,y occasion.
Looking forward to my Afternoon Tea for Two birthday treat. When we arrived we were told there was an event on in the Afternoon Tea room and therefore the foyer had been set up. We were surrounded by guests checking in and out, porters and a huge wedding party. We said we weren't happy and we were offered a glass of champagne. The afternoon tea itself was lovely and the champagne delicious. Can't help wondering though if the management should just not have not taken bookings for that day.
We stopped for one night and spent most of our time out in the city. We didn't get to experience the dining or the spa, both come highly recommended. Valet parking service is good and the doorman is excellent. Staff at reception are well trained and have lots of information about the city. Our room was on the second floor and not the lowest priced room so expectations were high. The room was well furnished and beautifully clean. Shower was over a bath and powerful. We were woken at 7am by the creaking floorboards from the rooms above and then kept awake by the beeping of the trams - the tram line passes right by the hotel. I feel you would get more from this hotel if you stayed long enough to use the facilities. Request a quiet room that doesn't overlook the tram line.
Had afternoon tea, we were a little late but they said it was fine. The room is so pretty and tidy, kind of 1920s but with modern twists. Very kind and polite staff. Teas were beautiful, I recommend the railway one (forgotten its name sorry but it has a smoky flavour with whiskey). Sandwiches, cake and scones were beautiful. Quiet and pleasant, some nice jazz music in the background. Fills you up like a meal, you won't need lunch/dinner. Unlimited tea and very very reasonably priced
A beautiful building, the entrance is wonderful, the staff (the reception and the concierge) are very friendly and helpful. Melissa Ellams gave us information about the city center and places to go in Manchester. The concierge can give you information about the history of this Hotel. (built in 1903!) The ambiance is great! This hotel makes you feel like the queen! The rooms are spacious, luxious and clean. It is near St Peter's Square. Easy to use the Metrolink, but Piccadilly Garden (The shopping center) is within 10 minutes walking distance. One negative point is that the windows in the rooms cannot be opened. (This is because of the British law) You can use the air conditioner, but the air is dry.
Had a great stay at this hotel. Mike in Concierge was most helpful upon my arrival and departure. He offered an extremely good customer service beyond average and made me feel welcome. Would recommend staying here.
Came to a fantastic night for my friends 60 in the Trafford can't fault anything the room looked beautiful and the food was to die for but what made the night was the staff especially Donna and Lizzie couldn't do enough thank you ladies
I absolutely adored my stay here & wish I could live in forever!! Staff are great and the room was comfortable and really clean. It's right on our doorstep, but sometimes nice to just not be at home. I'm booking soon, this time can be a surprise for my partner!!!!
