What a lovely hotel! Pictures don't do it justice. Manchester is a small enough town that it is very close to walk to everything. So glad we listened to a recommendation of a local and stayed here. Oh, and don't miss The French if you enjoy outstanding food and service.

Beautiful old hotel which desperately needs a facelift, rooms are dirty, bathrooms don’t work well, plumbing was a problem, management seemed used to complaints and did nothing to respond to them, rooms and gallways had an old and sometimes funky smell. Very difficult hotel would not stay there again.

Great hotel in a very convenient location, at the city centre. Charming Victorian building with refurbished rooms.

Everything was fantastic. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The location could not have been any better and the hotel itself was just the right mix of history, romance and atmosphere. Well done Midland Hotel.

A great place to stay. Great location. Beautiful lobby. Classical style.

Room was a bit damp and smelly (cigarettes?? although non-smoking) initially, but OK after turning the ventilation on.

The hotel is a classic in the city, great location and access to restaurants and transportation. Concierge was fantastic, besides helping me getting anywhere I was expecting a package and they really took cacre about it. Excellent experience and I definitely will come back to this hotel.

This is the most beautiful hotel we've stayed at yet. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and dining room beautiful. We were very thankful the concierge sold stamps: both postcards and international so that we could send things back home. We had no complaints with this hotel, and will return on our next trip to Manchester!

The hotel check-in was easy and fast. They allowed us to check our bags and do everything later since we were running to a football match. Room extremely spacious and no noise which was wonderful!

Loved this hotel - only complaint is that the staff at the front desk were incompetent and rude (but at least the concierge was kind and helpful) - other than that, our rooms were gorgeous, beautifully clean and energy efficient! Room service was fast and delicious, the bed was comfy - the hotel itself is a majestic building. Also, the artwork in the hallways was brilliantly curated, which was a great touch!

A real experience to stay in this historic hotel - kept up-to-date in an appropriate manor. Good value for a real experience.
