There was a huge queue when we went to check-in. Possibly 30 or 40 people waiting to check in. Very few rooms were ready and we couldn’t check in till gone 5 pm. We were given a bar voucher while we waited. The room was great all the amenities were fantastic. The Spa was a letdown you were only allowed one hour per room per visit and you had to book it. When I went down, it was absolute chaos with kids jumping over people in the pool and screaming. It was the most stressful Spa experience I’ve ever had in my life. I did speak to their staff and they offered me another slot. Breakfast was adequate but I think for £29 it was massively overpriced. There is no parking on site the nearest place is an NCP which is five minutes walk away. - not great if you’ve got bags and it’s over £30 per day The building is absolutely stunning and we would definitely return but would have breakfast out and not go to the spa

I recently stayed at The Edwardian Manchester from Sunday to Monday over Valentine’s weekend. While I understand it was a busy period, the initial check in experience was disappointing. The queues were very long and poorly managed. Given the hotel was fully booked, better staffing and organisation should have been in place to handle peak times. I had requested a double bed but was given two single beds. After waiting again in the long queue, I was told the request could not be accommodated because the booking was made through Expedia and that third party bookings are not prioritised. I found this response unprofessional. Regardless of how a reservation is made, guests should not feel treated differently. That said, I would like to recognise the Customer Relations Manager and team for resolving the issue professionally. The next morning we were moved and upgraded to an amazing suite. We were also offered complimentary breakfast, drinks and dinner following another small hiccup. The suite was beautiful and the overall property is impressive. We truly love this hotel and will return, however I strongly recommend improving organisation during busy periods so the arrival experience reflects the hotel’s luxury standards.
